Phinley's Diner & Dairy Bar

I came to Phinley's because of a advertisement over the radio about a burger called The Apple Jack. My God it was delicious! I wish I would have taken a photo it was so good. To bad it's a limited time thing, I would love to have that year round.
My husband got the Classic Cheeseburger, again I wish I would have taken a photo it was really good too.

Had the haddock and fries. It was delicious and portions were very generous. Very friendly staff.

Excellent food with top-notch service. Although the atmosphere leaves a little to be desired (the music is a little too loud at times), at these prices, I'm definitely not complaining. Highly recommended.

Th deep-fried pickles do not get they tasted stale, sweet potatoes fries were over cooked or old ant the ice cream funnel cake an the toppings were also stale. The fox burger was good, and they did remove the unwanted food from our bill.

The burger tastes good, but the steak sandwich tastes totally different than last time. It’s way too sweet! Also the steak tastes not fresh at all and super salty. I don't know if they use a lot of seasoning to cover the flavor or not.

We had a bad experience on our first time here so we thought we would give it a second try. Both times our orders were wrong and both times the food was not good at all. The service is great though. I do not recommend this place at all and my family will not go back there again.

Great atmosphere and new menu. I got the mac & cheese and didn't love it! I will still definitely go back and try something else though!

I've now tried to go twice. The website says they are open every day from 10-10; both times I've tried to go, a crude, hand-written sign has been in the locked doors telling us that they are closed for the day. Both times, I've been trying to bring a relatively large group and it has been very inconvenient.

My Dad and I decided to stop in this afternoon, on New Year’s Day. We were both very well looked after and the meal hit the spot. Also the music selection was great

We were disappointed that the breakfast menu is gone Monday to Friday and they only open at 11am.
The staff are still excellent and friendly. We think these changes are a big mistake. Only minimal customers there between 11am and noon compared to previous years.

I feel like my review is long overdue here. This is the place where me and my wife exchanged rings. Rose is always so welcoming. I used to live in Stratford so it was only about 4-5 minutes drive and favourite spot for us for a late breakfast date. Unlike downtown spots there is a huge space for parking so you never have to worry about it. All kinds of options on the menu. And servers are always helpful in case you need to customize your order and have special instructions for the kitchen. Love this place. Next time when I go back to PEI. This is be my go to place again.

Welcome to the new owners! Enjoyed the new menu! Chicken wings (breaded) were very good as was their crispy chicken sandwich with coleslaw. I upgraded to their sweet potato fries, which are waffle and PERFECT! Dip for them was yummy. Shared the donut bread pudding which was ah-mazing! I will be back! Emily, our server was friendly and very good at her job. Also, the other server stopped to see to our needs.you KNOW a it's a good, well run, team oriented restaurant when other servers stop to help or clear, also! Kudos!

Staff was friendly and service was fast. However, the seafood platter was very disappointing. Scallops were soggy, breaded haddock not crispy at all, clams were chewy.

The staff were friendly, their service good and our mains were hot and very tasty. However, we informed the staff, when asked about our dessert (bread pudding), was tasteless and hardly warm.

Family friendly restaurant with a large menu. Access and parking are a breeze. The restaurant is large and the booths are comfy. The food was great, with large portion sizes. Highly recommend if in need of a meal going to or from Charlottetown.

Delicious 2piece fish and mashed potatoes just wished there was a vegetable. Price very reasonable.

My husband’s boss brought us here. The food was good and the place is relaxing. Will definitely come back.

Really friendly diner, staff super helpful, we visited twice on our vacation from the UK, on both occasions we had tasty and filling meals, there were four of us eating and we had something different both times, good value for money, excellent, recomended.

We stopped here while on vacation and passing through. We had our dog with us so we were going to take our food back to the hotel. The lady pointed out that there were picnic tables outside and our dog was allowed to join us there. She even went so far as to bring our food to us and offer my dog some water and/or ice cream. On top of the great service the food was amazing! Possibly the best burger I have ever had. Thanks for making our vacation that much better and easier!

Called at 10 for a reservation for 12 people, got told they don't do reservations on Sunday's. Was told the rush is at 6, so showed up at 5 to get a table for 12 for the brothers birthday. Get told that they have a reservation at 6 so the back room isn't available. Eventually get crammed into tables along one side of the main dining area, no sign of a group of 10 showing up for their reservation at 6 before we left. No effort to comp anything for the group after the gong show over the table.

However, besides some decaying ends on the lettuce and tomato that wasn't cored, the rest of the food and coffee was good and besides the reservation kerfluffle, the staff is very friendly and attentive.

Great burgers and other food as well. Both the Smoking Fox and Bourbon Street burgers are excellent. Service is great and staff is always to me and my family.

Got burgers here about two months ago, after which my wife got food poisoning. We weren't sure if it was Phinley's and just chocked it up to bad luck, as we had eaten there before.

We decide to get food there again 10 days ago, which we took home. The burgers were dry with almost all ingredients being old. I set my burger down to eat some fries and noticed the bun was moldy on the bottom. I called and told them what had happened to which they told me to come in and get a refund. I got to the restaurant and the girl gave me $40 cash, I told her my wife payed more than that, but we didn't have a receipt as there wasn't one in the bag. She assured me we payed $38 and we could keep the other two dollars. I told her I wanted the manager or owner to call me. I just checked my credit card, and we did indeed pay more than $40, I also haven't received a call from anyone.

If you like old ingredients, moldy bread, food poisoning, and getting ripped off then Phinley's is the perfect place.

Very nice place. Not too big, not too small. Good beer and great burgers. The staff are friendly, attentive and, from hearing their interactions with others, very good at remembering repeat visitors.
If the burger buns had been steamed for a few seconds, it would have been perfect.

Quick burgers on the go from the dairy bar, much better than other fast food national burger brands.

There was no wait. Staff are very nice. Food was excellent and the price is fair. There is also a dairy bar with all kinds of ice cream and shakes and stuff. Highly recommended.

The burger I had was a little dry and would not be my choice of bun. Service was a little slow for a business day lunch hour but staff is very friendly. Prices and portions are very good a the dessert selection is great.

Fast, friendly service, great food, especially the "Burger Love" burgers! They are always at the top of my list.

Went there today, got the Chicken Parmesan. Said there's Alfredo on the menu which I'm assuming its noodles, got only the Chicken, a piece of garlic bread and side. No Alfredo of any kind, sauce nor noodles. Nothing was said about running out of Alfredo. I paid the full thing as well, Absolute ripoff.

Service was slow, food was basic pub food. Take a pass on the clam strips and go somewhere serving local seafood. I've heard the burgers are good but can't say I'd go back. Friendly enough but much better places around for food.

The service was great and Jen from cape Breton was awesome server. Food was ok, we had Caesar salad and two burgers. Patties were small and dry so not impressed with the classic burger. Father in law had the chicken corn chowder and didn't really like it. Nice restaurant and booths

First impression: really great hostess who seated us quickly.

Unfortunately that wore off as our server took so long to get to us for drinks that we almost left. By the time she came to get our drink order we were ready to order mains.

We only saw her again when she dropped off our plates and when she cleaned up the empties. No dropping in to see how things were, no drink refills. She was nice, but the whole place seemed like it was working in slow motion.

The food was stock standard pub food. Breakfast burger sounded better on the menu, but it wasn't offensive. Just not as gourmet or flavourful as I'd hoped. The strip clams were probably frozen from a bag.

We got an ice cream to go from the dairy bar on the way out and the hostess who seated us served us this time. SHE was great! Young blonde girl whose name I didn't get - she should be running the front of house. Quick and friendly!

All in all, not a disaster of an experience by any stretch, but even for a simple pub meal the slow service (food took a while to come out as well) kind of makes it hard to recommend.

If you're really hungry in Stratford, it will do. But it's not really a destination worth the drive from Charlottetown.

Food was perfect, very well seasoned, fantastic presentation, good quality ingredients, fast service given how busy it was, excellent service.

Great service waitress was extremely friendly, good with checking in. Clean place amazing food just delicious I will be back again
