Rick's Fish & Chips

Stopped here four years ago on an end to end bike ride across PEI and it was great. Came back for a second shot. Fish was as good as ever and so many fries that I could not eat them all.

Lobster was alright.really soggy and bland. The chowder was really bad.taste like water with bits of clam and raw potatoes.: (Cost 120 with 20 dollar tip. I wasn’t able to review until today.

Best fish burger I have ever eaten in my life, Fish n' Chips super delicious too, My congratulations to kitchen staff, super great job, recommend this place place 100 %

It’s sad when an Island fav restaurant closes down even sadder when a new owner re-opens under the old name, trading on their reputation.
The new owner is a chef from Quebec.

We ordered the tempura bar clams. They came with a typical shrimp cocktail sauce and a sirachi mayo. The bar clams were not in a tempura batter. They had a flour coating. Coating was missing on many segments of the clams.
Way overcooked. Clearly frozen, not fresh.
Hard to chew. Like thick rubber bands.
Had an after-taste.
So sad.

We ended up feeding them to our golden doodle.

We’ve always liked a trip to Ricks… now we LOVE it! We prefer the casual service and the new spin on the old favs. Job well done to the new owners. This is going to be a summer staple for years to come. Thanks for the great experience! Highly recommend!

Loved this spot. Great outdoor seating and awesome food. You can tell they know what they are doing. Awesome flavours and cooked to perfection. I had the lobster roll and others in our party had fish and chips, chowder, ahi tuna burger. All were 10/10. We will be back!

This was bar none the best lunch we have had in the island. The fried scallops were melt in your mouth and our sever (think his name was Rogan) was able to add seafood to my Caesar salad with shrimp scallops and haddock which I’ll dream about for years!
A must visit.

On nous a annoncé un des meilleurs Fish and Chip's de l'île et nous avions envie de poisson et de frites! C'était l'un des meilleures Fish and Chip's que j'ai eu l'occasion de manger à vie! Les frites sont excellentes!

Excellent food, they have the best Chowder I have tried on the island. If your looking for a cute village to visit for lunch, this is it.

Not sure if this is a tourist trap. I had the seafood platter and onion rings, and my wife had the clam chowder cup and 2 piece (haddock) fish and chips. Everything was battered and deep fried, leaving us feeling not that well afterward. Maybe we ate too much, or maybe I'm too old for this kind of food? The haddock, scallops and clam straps were very good quality, just all the deep fried batter was a bit much. Should offer all this great seafood in a healthier way. $70+ for 2 person lunch, including tax and tip.

Great food! We are from Ontario so we wanted to find a good fish and chips place. This one hit the spot! Fish and chips were cooked perfect. Loved the texture of the deep fried batter. Staff was stretched a bit thin so we waited a bit longer getting food but totally worth the wait!

Had the fish and chips, along with a local beer. Coworker had the cheeseburger with fries.
Both meals were excellent, along with the Service.
We were in and out in about 45 minutes.
Perfect experience.

Greasy and overpriced. Kids paid $12 for a hotdog and greasy fries. Everything that came out was brown…

PEI’s hidden gem! Best fish & chips we have ever had. We got the haddock, 2 2 huge pieces for $21 with fries. Very fluffy batter. My mom & I shared it & got the greek salad. Prices were great & service super quick. Staff moved in & about like a well oiled machine. Very friendly, looked happy. Music was great. It was packed right at opening. Our server was Kelly & she was fantastic. Bathroom was clean.

The service was excellent. If you come here, you must try their fish & chips and fish taco. Their batter is fantastic. This town is beautiful and close to one of the best beaches in PEI.

We decided to check out this restaurant in St Peter's Bay, after the lawn mower races. It was good. A very Hot Day for patio dining, was not too busy.
We ordered fish and fries, and shrimp and fries. The batter was good, loads of flavor, service was good. Was not a long wait for for, great little patio, could see going back. If your in the area, check it out.

It was a little disappointing, it was ok.
Portions were plentiful but quality and service were just ok.
Maybe it was an off day?

Completely surprised. Stoped on a whim and had the best road food of our weeks on vacation. I’d go back happily. Fresh, fresh seafood perfectly cooked scallops NOT Overcooked as most are.

Great Food and staff.
The Scallop Burger and Sea Food Pizza was worth the 3 day drive!
Will be back.

Awesome fish and chips. Cajun mussels are amazing! Limited hours so make sure they are open before making the drive out there.

Tried the 1pc haddock fish & chips takeout. The batter and fish were very wet and fries were not great. I may have gotten an undercooked batch? I can say I am not a fan, nor will I try again for that price. Sorry but it's not good

This place is fantastic, as an Islander I love a good lobster roll and let me tell you this is one of the best. For one it's huge, it's got some delicious seasoning on it and it's very fresh tasting. My partner got the clam strips and yum! Seriously do yourself a favour and go here!

Consistently good food (20+ yrs visiting PEI) - pleasant casual atmosphere. Pretty view of St. Peter's Bay.

Nice server! We came in just before close and she was welcoming to us. The food was great, try the Cajun fried mussels!

Lunch in St. Peter - wir hatten das Lobster Sandwich mit Cole Slaw - super lecker! Sehr freundliche Bedienungen!

Fish was okay. Fries were good. Kind of expensive but staff was friendly and helpful. Small town vibe with fast service. Was seen on the food network show "you gotta eat here".

Never had a lobster roll before and it was delicious! It's nice little places of the beaten path in PEI that made our trip awesome!

This place came highly recommended but was highly disappointing. Will not return.

The fish had more batter than fish. Batter was light but just tasted like oil. Fries weren't bad, but not the best I've had.

My friend hated her meal. Asked for Caesar salad instead of the fries, and that was really well made.

The kids were starving and said they liked their meals, but were disappointed that the tartar sauce never came as promised.

My curry seafood chowder was very bland and full of mostly potato but very little meat.

Prices were very reasonable for adult menu, but the kids meals were overpriced. However, I wouldn't pay menu prices for the quality of food we received.

They comped the Caesar salad exchange, but wouldn't provide discount off our bill for our disatisfaction.

The waitress was mostly great, except for a couple minor things. She was very accommodating, but could tell she was stressed/overwhelmed.

Will definitely need us find a better spot in Souris, as I will not return. I would much rather go to Pedro's in North Rustico or Lost Anchor in Cavendish. Those two are a touch more $ but WELL worth it.

Fantastic! I had the cod and chips, the clam strips, and the seafood chowder. The chowder was my favourite. The chips could be a little crispier, but the fish was fresh and cooked just right (actually, everything was fresh). The clam strips were the right crispiness. Perfect.

The fry fish is crispy but oily, $7/pc, but the lobster bread is not worth, too expensive $19/pc, taste is normal.

All roads lead to Ricks. Had the fish burger, it was so good I went back and got two more. Poutin was good, but the fish.awesome.

I'm confused by the good reviews? Our food was undercooked, greasy and cold. Service was slow slow slow. We just found this place to be an absolute nothing of value restaurant. There are amazing restaurants on the island. But this place wasnt one of them.

Food very good service needs improvement ordered two beers at the bar had to reorder when server arrived ten minutes later. Get your act together for five stars.

Rick's had the best breaded cod I have ever eaten! My kids enjoyed oysters for the first time. What a treat. Awesome staff, great beer, great food. All made for a really great experience for the while family.

Must have the cod!

L’hôtesse nous a offert une table qui se libérait, une fois assis, cela a pris pas loin de 15 minutes avant d’avoir la visite de la serveuse, elle nous a apporter des verres d’eau, (mon verre était souillé), elle nous demande si nous sommes prêts à commander mais lorsque nous lui disons que nous n’avons pas eu le menu, elle repart en s’excusant. L’hôtesse vient nous voir et prend nos verres d’eau en mettant ses doigts à l’intérieur et nous dit que nous devons quitter la table et refaire la file car la table est réservé. Donc, notre expérience ne fût aucunement agréable pour le service et la propreté, nous avons quitté l’endroit sans regrets!
