I was driving through Summerside and saw this place and it looked cool. It was.
I had a caramel slice and a cappuccino. The caramel slice was delicious. The cappuccino was a latte: - (
Apparently you need to tell them that you want foam in your cappuccino - go figure. I forgot where I was momentarily.despite that, it is a cool spot and the caramel slice really was good.

Very tasty caramel cider & egg wrap. Awesome spot close by the water that is worth a drop in to enjoy the local food. Friendly staff and lovely spot to close out a wonderful trip to PEI.

Yummy sandwiches and delicious coffee. Add that to super nice staff and you've got a winner!

Great coffee shop with a small menu. We had a great cup of coffee and breakfast. Very friendly staff, very clean location.

Absolutely lovely spot for great coffee and snacks. Baked goods were tasty and coffee expertly made. My only problem was the font on their signage was tiny making it hard to read for anyone with vision issues.

Things I knew before I went to Samuels Coffee House….

The good:
1. To have enough time to seat and enjoy. Allow yourself to have time to seat and enjoy the ambient and pretty-cozy decoration and setup. If you can go there with some timeand seat down with your warm drink while you appreciate the colours, wild flowers and just the view of downtown of this pretty small town.
2. Compare tastes from a variety of drinks. We heard good things about this place and how it displaced Starbucks from Summerside. We ordered the exact same drink and both were terrible. If you go with family and friends then you might be able to taste more than your drink. I might go back and edit this review.

The Negative. I wish I knew….

1. That Samuels cocoa tasted more like Nesquick chocolate syrup. Extremely sweet. We tried the Hot Cocoa. They should removed that tile and just write Hot Chocolate. There was barely a taste of cocoa in there. It was filled with colourful marshmallows which reduced further any cocoa flavour in there. Perhaps the barista didn’t had enough cocoa or she didn’t stirred it enough. Needless to say neither I or my 4 year old toddler were able to finished the drink.

2. That some at Samuels will serve you on time and better if they see that you TIP.
Make sure the cashier sees that you pay your TIP - if you make it cash specially. I paid with my debit and decided to tip cash as I had quite a few coins from being a tourist visiting carnivals and small towns in the east coast not accepting cards. Once I paid and she saw the receipt she walked away. I left my tip on the bowl but she probably didn’t see it.
When I ordered our drinks, there was only one person ahead of me and he got his drink and food. Behind me there were a family and couples. So around 7-9 people. Yes, they ordered at the till and No there were not online orders. They all got their drinks and when I asked if she had my drinks, the barista said that she didn’t have a chance to make them. I was next in line. I guess we weren’t lucky with those in that shift and their attitude towards tipping.

3. To check your watch for the time of you are ordering any food at Samuels.
I was told that the kitchen closes at 5pm - which is fine as many towns businesses close earlier.
But then I checked that it was 4: 50pm. I could have said something but I checked the time after a while when we were still waiting for our drinks. When I attempt to make my order for food was after I ordered my drinks. I guess the tipping aspect didn’t help ;) again make sure they see you tipping haha

Really nice place with awesome coffee. I just wish they would make 8oz latte instead of 12 Oz. I buy my beans there too (K2 espresso is my favorite). So, yes, it's my place to sip a good latte with a scone while geeking.

I can not think of a cozier spot than Samuels. Everyone I knew told me to come as soon as I arrived in Summerside and I may not leave it anymore!

If you are in Summerside you need to have a coffee and sandwich here. Amazing staff

If you’re in Summerside for a few hours and want to experience something amazing and local, Samuel’s Coffee House is one of the 2 places you have to stop by (the other one is Evermoore Brewing which is just down the street - about a 5 minute walk).

The food was amazing. Everything we had was delicious and pretty much everything on the menu is made with local ingredients. Great little gem on this amazing island.

Always happy to stop at Samuel's Coffee House. The staff are welcoming and friendly, ideal place to warm up with a hot drink after a stroll on the boardwalk. 5 stars, for sure!

It is a truly authentic coffee house with a limited unique coffee house menu, not a Canadian breakfast.

The espresso was wonderful and we will return.

Good coffee. Very cool building and atmosphere and service. Comparible to Starbucks but coffee is better and not over-roasted, burnt tasting.

Excellent coffee and food, no doubt about it! Extremely accommodating for online orders as well, I have ordered from them online a couple times now and both have been a super pleasant experience.

Grateful that Summerside has such a nice cafe in the community. Coffee options are excellent and food is always fresh and tasty.

Was an enjoyable experience, everything was kind of ok. The coffee was rather bitter and hard to enjoy but the food was nice. Probably would get something else next time.

This is the place to get specialty coffee and tea in Summerside! The atmosphere is great and the staff is even greater but the greatest thing of all is the chocolate chip cookies!

Just moved here from Vancouver Island two months ago. Been frequenting Samuel's to get some studying and reading done. The Coffee is great, the staff are nice and it's always very clean. Also they forgot my order for about 5 minutes and they gave me a free medium specialty drink on them. Take it as a win or a loss, I count that as a win.

If you're looking for a hipster coffee shop, this is the place for you. It has a small vault room you can dine in, as the building use to be a bank. Great food, and if you're looking for souvenirs they sell hoodies, toques and shirts

Great coffees and food. A wonderful atmosphere to kick back, sip a latte, and let time drift by. Sit in the bank vault if you need quiet contemplation.

Was in this morning for a less than good experience.

The coffee was great, but dry meatballs in a sandwich that was beat in flavour by the coleslaw that was served with it was pretty disappointing. Top it off with a mildly rude cashier and you end up with a mediocre experience. I'll be back for your coffee, but not much else.

The place was very nice, unfortunately service at the front of house was pretty slow. And the place smelt a bit weird when we first walked in. Apart from that, baristas looked nice and gave great service.

Mon sandwich était bon, mais le rapport qualité prix pour les plats ne vaut pas le coup. 15 dollars pour un petit sandwich, sans accompagnement ni même couverts/serviette quand on mange sur place, c'est dommage. J'avais encore faim en sortant.
Le café était en revanche excellent et bien servi.

Very disappointed! I've been getting my coffee and favorite sandwich for 3 years without a complaint. Today we waited for over 18 minutes with finally getting our wrong order. When I called and spoke to the manager I was told nothing could be done and to have a nice day.

Only real nice small business café I could find in Summerside, and it did not disappoint! Great decor, good coffee and delicious smelling food. Staff were friendly!

Pleasant setting, fresh ingredients in the breakfast sandwich with a little fruit skewer which was a nice garnish. Plus the raspberry cream pie, very good.

Very enjoyable spot, we had coffee and ate breakfast here a couple of times and the food was very tasty, although not massive portion for the breakfast sandwich but totally made up by the quality and presentation of the food.

Came in for the day from our cottage in Darnley. EXCELLENT coffee, outstanding food, friendly service, free wifi, and air conditioning! Truly, you couldn’t ask for a better stop along the boardwalk. Highly recommend to anyone taking a summer tour through Summerside!

Stopped in while touring the island. Had a white chocolate and dark chocolate frappe. They were so good. Definitely give this place a try if you get the chance.

Busy spot on a Sunday morning. Good staff and nice looking menu. London Fog and Soy Latte were made perfect.

Good place to stop for refreshments and toilet. Very busy with the lunchtime trade offering a range of food from cakes to light meals.

The sandwiches are handmade and I have been there on a daily basis on my journey on the Island and I have become a regular. Anyone who comes I take them here.

Great service! Even pulled out the ingredient list and found a dairy and soy free treat my wife could eat. Drinks were great too!

GREAT spot! My husband and I visited while on our honeymoon. Your caramel macchiato is to die for! We also both enjoyed your rhubarb grilled cheese and ginger cookies. My husband liked the cookie so much that he bought another! It reminded us of Christmastime and our childhoods:) Overall a solid experience and a comfy spot- This was a memorable part of our trip.

Great little coffee house, lots of home baked treats to have with your coffee. Our barista helped me find a dairy free/soy free treat to accommodate my allergies. She and another manager even pulled out a huge binder that had the list of ingredients for all the foods so I could double check my choice. I had some delicious cookies that happened to also be gluten free

Dirty kitchen, broken dishwasher (doesnt sanitize) and cranky head-staff, ruined my experience and wouldn't recommend.

I like the atmosphere in there it is very classy I must say and has a pretty nice location in downtown Summerside. Everything on the menu is amazing but if you are going there expect to pay quite a bit.

I love Samuels. Cozy and always fresh. I don’t pass through Summerside without stopping in. A great little space to grab your fav brew and a sandwich.

Amazing food and drinks with lots of vegetarian/vegan options, staff are always extremely friendly and the location is beautiful. I wish they would open a second location in Charlottetown.

Great local coffee shop. Wide selection of coffee, tea (loose leaf in a pot), sandwiches, soup, salad and chips. Enjoyed their special, a curried chicken sandwich and Thai chicken soup with chips. Also, chocolate roibos was an interesting tea flavor. Lots of seating, warm ambiance, friendly staff and free WiFi.
