Stanhope Cottages

A great place to stay in PEI!
The cottage is nice and well kept, and it's located very close to the beach. Staff is friendly and offered excellent service, and the rooms are very clean. I had a great experience here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay!

We've had some favorite places to stay on the island for over 20 years.but the ownership changed and the quality of service was no longer in line with what we were looking for so that gave us the opportunity to find this jem! Great cottages packed with just about everything you need! Amazing owners who value your experience while you stay here and are looking for new ideas to bring an even better experience for you! The only thing we would like to see is that a pet friendly option becomes available as we love our dogs and it's getting harder to find sitters for them.

A really great place to stay in PEI for travel and vacations!

I, with my family of four persons, get chance to stay in one of the cottage rooms during our vacation to PEI recently.

The cottage looks new and well equipped, and is so nice and well kept, and the location is also very close to the beach. Manager and staff are very friendly and offered excellent services and helps, and the rooms are very clean. My family is fully satisfied with the nice cottage room with excellent conditions, and the great services provided and would like to highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay when visiting and taking vacations in PEI, in particular for a place nearby the beautiful beach!

We stayed here during our PEI trip during the summer and this place was very comfortable and enjoyable. The staff was polite and accommodating to our needs, and the rooms were great as well. The location is close to many beaches and a national park as well. Great place to stay and would recommend!

They accommodated us at the last minute after a plane cancellation in Charlottetown. We can't express our appreciation! You made what could've been a very long night in an airport so pleasant. Thank you again.

Cottages very clean. Minutes away from beautiful beaches and trails. Check in was fast and efficient. Grounds well taken care of.

We recently stayed in one of the A-Frame cottages. It was perfect for our family of 5. Perfect location; walk to the beach, central to other tourist attractions. The cottage and grounds are extremely well kept.
Jenny & Luke and Peter & Kathy were all extremely kind and helpful and accommodating. We will be back!

First time staying -the cottage was comfortable and well equipped great location as well-a couple of small issues were quickly taken care of by Jennie- very quiet off a main road -and close to the beach-if only the weather had been better-was an enjoyable experience

Stanhope cottages are in an ideal location, steps from the National Park beaches, close to Port Rustico for fresh seafood. Units are well equipped for guests to cook meals and relax after exploring PEI.

We’ve been staying here for many years and love it. The cottages are very clean and well equipped. Jenny and Luke are always friendly and helpful. It’s a charming 5 minute walk to the beach down a red dirt road.

Overall, our stay at Stanhope Cottages was underwhelming. Halfway through our 10 day stay we washed the sheets and towels ourselves and the way they felt afterwards made us wonder how recently they had been cleaned before our arrival. The cottage was comfortable but a bit cramped and the kitchen was not very well equipped. The service from staff was good. They were friendly and helpful. The location was by far the best part and made everything else worth it, but I don't think I'd stay here again.

I stayed here for a week in August 2022 with other family members. It was a great set up as we had our own space (each family group rented one cottage) but could come together easily to play card games or have supper. The kids loved playing with the toys, sandbox and on the swing set. And it was a quick 10 minute walk to an awesome beach - beautiful, not too busy and had changerooms and basic washrooms if needed. Would definitely return myself and recommend to others looking for a place to stay.

We stayed in a two bedroom cottage at the end of august. Overall, the accommodations were decent and location was great. The cottage was surface level clean, but definitely could have used a deep clean (there was sand/crumbs in between the couch cushions). I would highly recommend bringing items like tin foil, ziploc bags, dish cloths, etc.for the kitchen along with any food you require. Also note that the oven is smaller than a traditional oven so standard sized cookie sheets (which were provided) don’t fit in the oven. Additionally, bring some form of mattress topper if you have one, as the mattresses were very uncomfortable.

The good:
- great living room area for playing games in the evening
- kitchen had almost everything necessary to cook most meals
- BBQ with propane was great for cooking
- a/c and bedroom fans were great
- decent level of privacy and sound proofing between cottages

The bad:
- mattresses were highly uncomfortable (old, springy…)
- shower had low water pressure and was difficult to turn on / off and difficult to adjust temperature on
- bedrooms are very small (barely enough space to walk on either side of bed
- wifi was slow / spotty especially in the evening

Cosey, comfortable, clean, and quiet. Great location. The cottage was perfect for our needs. We had a great stay after the Labour Day weekend. This was our first time staying in Stanhope and we had a great vacation exploring the area.

Loved our stay at Stanhope Cottages. Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Ideally situated as a base to explore PEI. Will definitely return.

Great spot, quiet and clean with everything you need. Hosts were gracious and friendly, there to help with anything. Can’t wait to go back!

We would give it 5 stars had the internet service been better! We enjoyed our stay immensely- the location was great, the cottage was clean, and the staff super helpful and friendly.

We felt welcomed and taken care of at these cottages. Jenny and Luke took very good care of us and attended to our needs. The cottages are well outfitted and clean and the location was superb for what we wanted. Very quiet location and walking distance to the beach. A lovely home away from home!

This is the second year in a row staying here at Stanhope Cottages. Jenny is lovely, she came out of the cottage to welcome Terry and I.
I went back to get more towels and she was more than accommodating
It’s a friendly atmosphere and our cottage was very clean and comfortable.

The cottage was clean and comfy and the service is amazing. Jenny is great and super helpful. Cottages are very close to the beach which is perfect and quiet at night which I love.

Hosts very friendly, very nice location close to beach, close to national park, not a far drive from Charlottetown. Rooms are very clean and well stocked.

Park is great for small kids to keep busy.

Great place for family vacation.

We had a great stay at Stanhope Cottages. Jenny is wonderful and so helpful. Cottage was cozy and the air conditioner was a blessing. But the ceiling fans, I love. The kids gave the playground a thorough use. Lol. They loved the airplane. Thanks Jenny for everything ️

We had a great time, Jenny and Luke were great to deal with. Cottages were clean and updated. Beds comfortable and if was very peaceful.

Very happy with the cottage. It is sparkling clean, well stocked. The area is wonderful, beaches galore and many entertainment sites close by. Jenny and Luke are very helpful.
Highly recommend.

Staff at Stanhope Cottages have been incredibly helpful and professional. I continue to be impressed by the level of service provided and we haven’t even landed for our vacation yet (landing today) Stay tuned for a follow up review, if the service prior to arrival is any indication of what’s to come, I expect it to be great! Very clean everything you need is right in the cottage. If you you spices better bring those. Very comfortable.
