The Hotel on Pownal

Chambre très propre et le lit est très confortable. Nous avons toujours eu de l'eau chaude pour la douche. Visite en basse saison, donc pas beaucoup de clients. Très tranquille. L'emplacement est parfait pour se balader dans le Downton et profiter des restaurants. Le petit déjeuner est de type continental avec oeufs et saucisses. Je le recommande! Stationnement facile et gratuit.

Rooms were great, except our TV didn't work. We got a new room and a giftcard to use out on the town. The service was most excellent and the second room was awesome. I over paid for this visit but if I can score a price for what it's worth, I would stay again. But I would inquire about the breakfast, as it is not what I was expecting.

So, I booked a night here for the wine festival, months beforehand. I had a confirmation email and everything. When we went to check in, they said their system shouldn't have let me book it, and I should have got an email cancelling our booking. Instead of a room for $130, they offered a room at $200 instead. After 30 minutes of talking to the manager on the phone, we left. Ruined our night as we then had to go home, instead of having the shuttle to and from the event so we could both enjoy wine sampling. No offer of making things right, by offering a room at the rate we had a confirmation for. Not even so much as an apology. The attitude was too bad, so sad for us. Moral of the story with Hotel on Pownal is 1) don't trust you have a reservation, regardless of any confirmation received, and 2) Don't expect when they screw things up, there will be any kind of accountability.

We spent a night there looking for a relaxing staycation, it was anything but. There was people in the next room having a party and took it out on the veranda which is shared by everyone on that floor. They yelled and carried on until after midnight basically outside our door. And you could here every step and thump from the room above as well. Needless to say not much sleep. Shower was not consistent in anyway, scalding hot to cold in an instant. The room was well decorated and clean but was very disappointed with our stay.

Staff were very friendly. Great location, hotel is walking distance to all the restaurants and stores. Had amazing cookies when we checked it. Disadvantageous is there is no elevator, so we had to lug our suitcases up 2 floors. The room was nice and spacious, but the bed was so high! We had to practically jump to get on it. A child would not be able to get up on their own and they would definitely fall off. Bathroom had barely any counter space. Hallways are very narrow, so u can hear everyone in their room. Offer a free breakfast, but was not very impressive.

We loved this hotel, modern clean room, so close to downtown a block away. The staff were all very nice, friendly and helpful. Great breakfast, although it was the same every day which I’d deduct a bit for lack of variety, overall I would love to stay here again.

Overall our stay was okay. We stayed 2 nights as I was recently down in New Bruinswick for work so we extended our trip to do some sight seeing. The room had a very funky smell - after a while we just got used to it but it definitely threw me off at first. Room was a good size and clean. The location of the hotel was fantastic. We walked into Charlottetown both days/nights.

They have board games to play if you ask the front desk, which we did. Good variety to choose from!

Part of the reason we booked the hotel was the location, free parking, and free breakfast.

I was a little disappointed in the breakfast - when my husband and I went down there wasn't any meat available and they only had omlettes which isn't something my husband would eat.

Overall it was a good stay and I'd recommend to stay while in Charlottetown.

Beautiful Hotel, Very Friendly staff, and you get a free deluxe breakfast, there is no Restaurant on site but lots close by. The Tub was a little small had to have my knees bent to soak in the tub.it is in a great location in downtown Charlottetown.close to shopping, Restaurants, bars, the beautiful waterfront,

I was booked into a room where a bunch of hockey teams (kids) were staying and the conditions were.well, less than quiet or relaxing, to say the least.

The front desk staff member was quick to accommodate a room change for me, making sure I was away from the majority of the players' rooms. She was polite, apologetic and even offered to help carry my luggage to the second floor. (Initial room was on the first floor.)

I had a much more pleasant stay than I would have in the other room, and I am grateful for her professionalism and courtesy.

This was my second stay at the hotel. The staff has always been friendly, the rooms are exceptionally well-kept, and the complimentary breakfast is a wonderful added touch.

I also like the option of being able to book a room inside the hotel or a drive-up unit with a separate, private, outdoor access to the room.

I will certainly be back and would highly recommended The Hotel on Pownal to anyone looking for a clean, affordable, and convenient stay in downtown Charlottetown.
