Surprisingly pleasant hotel. Very clean. Bed is very comfy. I love the location. Close to the bus stop and the bars. Highly recommend it.

Had two great nights at the hotel! Breakfast was good, Staff was polite, cheerful and courteous, even at 1: 00am arrival!
Fall decor is superb.
Beds are SO comfy with no complaints coming from us!

Great hotel for the price, near everything. However, on this particular stay, it was very noisy during the night.

Struggled to give two stars. 1.5 at best. Room was smelly and dirty.brown finger streaks on bathroom door dirty. Hadn't been dusted in ages. TV base had chunks of something grey on it. Nothing like cleaning a room after checking in. Requested late check out, to which we were denied as we had an event later in the day.must be some super fast house keepers as the hotel was full.guess that makes sense considering the state of the room! Oh, and then the sock police in the kitchen/dining area. I understand, wear shoes. But a three month old baby isn't going to be doing much walking, so perhaps let that one slide. I'm sure her parents loved that. Disappointed and won't stay again.

Start of a month long stay at this location, first was welcomed by a piece of toast sitting on my shelf. No real level of standards. To top it off when I went to take a shower there was no hot water. Very very bad start to a very long stay that will be cut very very short at this establishment.

You aren't allowed to stay here without a credit card. Period. So fair. They made an excepetion for me and took twice the amount in cash. Please just charge all fees to the initial payment. Dont make people fly across the country then take their spending cash.

I have no complaints about the staff, but the hotel itself is dingy and poorly designed.
The rooms have no natural light and some parts don't even have overhead lights. The few windows the do have aren't even to the outside but instead look inside, to a large staging area, that all the other rooms look into. If anything at all goes on there, everyone will know and hear. Room also had a weird odour, and the walls were a bit stained. Too just top it all off a sports team was there who made a lot of noise.
From what I overhead, people checking out where also complaining about the quality.

Wow, this place was gross. The room they gave us was down a ton of strange hallways and in another area of the building that looked like it hadn't been updated since 1984. The room itself was so dirty, there was handprints on the headboards from previous guests having "fun". The bathroom was disgusting. The beds were horrid, huge metal bars on the side you could feel through the itchy mattress. Literally fled Charlottetown at midnight and the island and ended our vacation early. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.

This aging hotel is ok, but not well laid out. We needed a guide to get us not just to our room but to the stairwell leading to the floor we were on. We didn’t get that from the front desk (they just pointed in the general direction). While searching for the stairs we bumped into a couple of housekeepers and they helped us find our way. Did you see the word “stairs”. No elevator so if you are in your mid 70’s like we are you have to haul your luggage up some stairs. No help from the front desk there either.

We got there early and had no problem finding a parking spot, but later in the day parking became difficult. We were there for 3 nights and had the same problem all 3 nights.

We had two queen sized beds and the room size could barely accommodate them, us and our luggage. The rooms were old and needing some refurbishment but were generally clean. Mattresses were adequate. The A/C unit was old but worked although it was placed in an alcove outside the bathroom door, not in some central location.

The complementary “hot” breakfast on our first morning was uh.edible. We went out for breakfast on day 2.

The location of the hotel was at the corner of two busy streets with traffic controlled by traffic lights. I mentioned the parking problem earlier. If you had to exit the parking lot to retry finding a spot on the other side, you would have to cross 3 lanes of traffic to take a left turn and then cross them again immediately to go in the other parking lot entrance. During the busy daylight hours it probably would be prudent to take a right and go about a mile around the block to re-enter the other parking lot entrance.

I would not rate this hotel any higher than 3 stars.

I only gave it one star because the staff was very friendly. They were helpful when the tv didn’t work. As to the rest of the place it could not have been worse. The floors of the room were all stained. The air conditioner was a unit that sat on the floor and blew all night. Unless we turned it off. Then it got stuffy very quickly. Not to mention we had to drag our luggage through the hotel and up steps to our room. Luckily we were able to cancel our third night and left a day early. This was the ninth bed of our two week stay so far and it was by far the worst room. Very disappointed that we scheduled three nights here. I do not recommend this hotel!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 days as a family of a 5 and we had a great stay! The complimentary breakfast was good, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and the kids LOVED the clean pool and water slide. Would stay there again 100%!

Stayed here again, and I'm marking my rating down. The room I was put in had no window to the outside other than one in the bathroom which had a blackout curtain permanently affixed in front of it. Staying in this room for a week left me feeling very lethargic from a lack of natural light. Wont be booking here again in case they throw me to one of these rooms again.

If I could give 0 stars - I would. They state that they have taken extra precautions to ensure health and safety with increased cleaning and sanitizing of all spaces but that is far from the truth. The pictures online do NOT give you the right impression. We showed up to our room and we’re greeted with hairs on walls & in the sink, stains in the bed sheets, refrigerator & microwaves filthy and fingerprint stains on countertops. We requested a new room and were given a new room with no improvement at all. It is so gross and honestly a disgrace that they are okay with letting you stay in such poor conditions. We ended up leaving the hotel and booking another motel outside the city. I highly suggest looking elsewhere if you are staying in PEI!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very reasonably priced for the location so we didn't have high expectations. The room was beautiful! It had a separate lounging area. The beds were extremely comfortable and it had a cute little breakfast nook.
The hotel had a beautiful pool area with a water slide as well as a fun little game room for the kids! Highly recommend!

The room they gave me looked into a conference room. Very claustrophobic. Couldn't open the drapes at all. Found it very outdated. The staff was very nice.

Kids banging on the door and partying next to our room till 2: 30 in the morning. Security is none existent. Police officer at the front desk on check out.
We were there for 2 nights and the cleaning staff left dirty towels on our bed after they cleaned our room. Totally unacceptable

Our room was very nice, clean and modern.
Front desk staff very helpful when we asked for info on local restaurants. Breakfast staff very friendly and efficient at keeping the buffet style continental breakfast topped up.

The room is clean, comfort and spacious. This hotel pay a lot of effort to keep the entire area clean, especially the breakfast area. Thank you for the hardwork. Great job. My family enjoyed to stay here.

Old and small rooms. Smelled funky when we got there. Bathroom was so grimy that my fiancée didn’t even want to shower there. They have a placard you can put on your bed to change your sheets, we put it every day we stayed there and it was not done a single time. Only replaced the towels and not even all the toiletries.

Check in: Afternoon staff are not as friendly as the night staff. Two guys I could single out would never crack a smile even when you’re as friendly as you can be. Where’s the PEI friendliness?
Yes, I was read and given the rules at check in time. Lots of them. Make sure you follow them.

Room: I got a level 3 room looking out at the pool building. The room was large with high ceilings but clearly they don’t clean as they claim they do. Bathroom was the smallest I’ve seen. I’m 6’5” and head literally touches the ceiling. Bathtub had mold around the caulking, dirty can be found in corners and the sink lack space for toothbrushes and toiletries. Air conditioning system is loud (like a jet engine). Windows are old and moldy.

Breakfast: Buffet breakfast- sausages, eggs, toast, pancake maker (in a minute) potatoes, coffee, tea, OJ etc.

No on-site restaurant

Pool/fitness centre: Lots of rules, your room key doesn’t open the doors: You’ll need to get another key.no under 18 allowed. Cameras everywhere. Like a jail.

Laundry available at the drive up suites.

No noise after 10pm but you can hear the other rooms - very thin walls.

Wifi: kicks you off at 8pm (no connection). I guess they don’t want you to enjoy your time here?

Ive read many other reviews and the tiny ridiculous things people complain about.lol. For those of you who are bothered by a room that looks dated or finding a little dust here and there or no onsite restaurant.maybe you guys should be staying in 5 star hotels. I stayed 6 nights in this cozy little place. ANYTHING I needed I got from staff no problem at all. They were friendly and very accommodating. The room was clean.yeah Im sure if I looked I could find a lil dust or a mold spot on the caulking in the shower.but tiny things like that don't bother me especially when this hotel was so cheap to stay in. I mean this day and age what more do you want for $160 a night? What you get here is A nice clean air conditioned room, cozy bed, free hot or cold breakfast (your choice), access to an awesome pool with super fun slide (pool is not small, Ive stayed in dozens of hotels and believe me this is NOT a small pool.) Also access to an awesome cozy games room. Free bottles of water in the dining area and also free coffee 24hrs. (good coffee) Blows me away that people still feel the need to complain.

It's a terrible experience. The front agent give us a room, filled with terrible smell, like the musty wood. However, she told us if we want to change the room, we need pay for both the musty room and the new room. We have to stay in the musty room that night. And the new room is not good, too. The hotel was filled with the wet environment and we feel very uncomfortable.

Extremely disappointed and appalled by this place. The reviews and description online do not match the quality at all.

This left an UNPLEASANT memory on our entire vacation.

First of all, you can clearly see STAINS and LAYERS OF DUST all over the tables and lamps. The air was FOUL and TERRI LY HUMID, I could barely breathe. Even when you turn on the AC it still does not purify the air. It seems as if someone had smoked in there prior, despite it being a smoke-free room.

Our room didn’t even have a window; it was COMPLETE CLOSURE. The window opens out to an OLD CONFERENCE ROOM THAT ISN’T EVEN USE ANYMORE! We couldn’t even tell if it was day or night.

The washroom was MOLDY with hair stuck to the wall. It’s highly questionable whether they cleaned the room or not. I don’t even think they changed the comforter. The water ran hot and cold and you couldn’t control it.

When I went to the front desk to inform them about our room they claimed that they didn’t know about it and didn’t even offer to help or do anything about it. It was VERY UPSETTING.

DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.

I booked a room with bunk beds, I think called a Family Suite. Room was off of the conference room, which was having a town hall. Like, windows looked into the conference hall. There are black out curtains, but it was still very strange. Room was a bit rough, with wall paper sections peeling and chipped paint. Floors hadn't been washed; I think a Coke exploded and the floors were sticky and there was brown drips around the door. It had 2 air conditioners, which were in the wall to the outside, and that meant it was cool but loud. One of them broke just as we were checking out, and started dripping all over the floor. Bathroom had a bath tub shower, but it was a bit dingy and needed a really good scrub. Also the bathroom had very little counter space, considering the room could sleep 6.
Pool was small and also needed a good scrub of the tiles, but the slide was super fun. I recommend bringing your own pool toys and life jackets.
Breakfast was well equipped, and lasts until 10am which is pretty late for hotel breakfasts. Games room has a Switch and a few games, as well as board games and crokinole.
Parking is at a premium, except for those in the suites that are in a separate building.
Main entrance is not wheelchair accessible, but there is an entrance to the side that is. But my room had a step in/out and all the doors I went through to the outside had a step as well.
I recommend going here if you're looking for a good water slide, and a unique bunk bed experience. But if you're looking to relax in luxury, I don't recommend Rodd Royalty.

I booked room for week unfortunately i forgot my two expensive items there and they didn’t give me back. I went back alot of times every time different excuses. I didn’t see any honesty in the staff. It was my family things and expensive too.

Reserved a hotel room and was given a cottage like 75 yards from the hotel. It had a moldy smell and I refused it. They then offered a King Suite for $20.00 more per night. The King suite
bathroom.you opened the door.it had a toilet against the tub and space from the toilet to the end of the door for room to change (3 feet long the width of the toilet). You couldn't change in the bathroom.the room featured about 3 feet from the bed a make do A/C unit running 24/7.they had 3 huge windows with only shears.sun came up at 0500.no curtains.the hot breakfast was never hot.cold meat/eggs and potatoes.room linen was supposed to change after 3 days.we were there for 4 days.never changed.had to ask for toilet paper. Unreal.

When first checking in they didn't make you feel welcome. They start by stating the rules, which entails after three warnings they will ask you to leave. Then they move on to we don't do houses keeping, you have to put your garbage and dirty towels in the hallways on the floor. You need to request everything you need replaced like new towels from the front desk. They are not welcoming to kids it appears that they are chasing them around and making comments unless you are 18 they don't want kids. They are not accommodating for sports teams even though you are filling the hotel in off season. Only for the team was staying at the hotel I wouldn't have checked in and stayed somewhere else. I would not recommend this hotel for a long stay but for one night it's ok.

5 stars for being actually pet friendly. Nice and cozy little place if you are staying for a day or two, everything is close by. The staff was very welcoming and allowed us late checkout. The pool is nice and clean too, there is a water slide which is probably meant for kids, but my husband turned into an 8 year old and started to have a bit of fun enjoying the water slide lol
