Water St. Fish & Chips

Waitress was super sweet and everything was out of her control so I felt for her. They were out of so many things which was definitely disappointing. Food was decent but not sure worth the rating it currently has.

We have been serve without cutlery, ketchup or even tartar sauce

Fish n chip was too greasy, no cole slaw

No music, so we heard everything frime other tables

And they do not even try to fix all that

Avoid this place if you can

Great food and great service, you can tell the halibut is so fresh, definitely will come back!

Loved it here! I ate so much amazing seafood. We had the coolest waiter who had us in stitches the whole time. I can't wait to go back when I'm in PEI next.

The comments from the owner of the place were inappropriate. I received a napkin with a message totally out of line and I did not get any comments, it is not a place that I recommend.

What a great restaurant. Fish and chips were delectable. Service was above and beyond. Gentlemen that was there taking care of our table ensured we were well taken care of and provided some great one liners. Great food, service, and atmosphere awaits any traveler dining at this PEI gem.

Some of the best fish and chips we've had. We drove in for a day trip to PEI and found this place based on reviews. We were not disappointed.
Besides super-fresh fish and chips, I had a yummy lobster roll. The canned cream soda was meh, though

Apparently, they are right by where visitors get off the cruise ships. If you're sick of boat food, I strongly recommend stopping in.

Fabulous seafood in a cozy atmosphere. Jay and Phil took great care of me when I needed to step in out of the drizzle. The seafood chowder was outstanding and the mussels, incredible! A definite keeper, thank you!

Huge portions! One piece is like a two piece at lots of other fish and chip shops I've been to if not even bigger. We had a group of 7 guys and our server I believe his name is Phil is hilarious! Has a great sense of humour and will joke around with your table lots, he definitely added to the experience. Fish itself was super tasty and we all were very happy. Next time I'm back to PEI I will return.

In town over Easter and happy Water St was open Sunday night. Had a cup of the seafood chowder (so good) and steamed mussels (first of the season, quite plump and tasty). Great conversation with the host, too, as it wasn’t crowded. Recommended!

Hands down our favourite restaurant that we visited while in PEI. Firstly, the food was fresh, hot, out quick and very delicious! You can tell the chef cares about what he serves and goes that extra mile so his food stands out! The portions are large, you definitely don’t feel hungry when you leave! The front manager is a hoot! We’d come back just for the chat! He makes you feel comfortable and welcome! He’s refreshingly honest and was extremely accommodating! You can tell he’s been in the business for a while because he knows what customers want. We found out when chatting that he’s from NS as well! Honestly, if we weren’t trying out different restaurants in PEI we’d have ate here for every meal! We are coming back in October and this will be our first stop! Oh, and the tater sauce, out of this world!

The food was on point and so tasty. The atmosphere was so welcoming and friendly. It makes me sad that I don't live there so I could make it my regular place.

If you are visiting for the Canada Games, make sure you visit before leaving.

Why does the rating stop at 5 stars? This place deserves at least double that. Food was terrific, so filling. Definitely got your money's worth. Phil the guy who served us, was hilarious.
Here for a couple of weeks and I'll be back. Watch out Phil, those Ontario people are coming for another dinner.

Chanced upon this place on a random visit to Charlottetown, we had no idea where to eat but the exteriors looked interesting. We were very lucky to have been served by Phil! Really entertaining, full of comedy and very witty, he could pass as a stand up comedian. Food portions were also very generous and you can dedinitely share it with your companions. Will recommend this and come back for sure.

Get the haddock fish and chips. Patience needed as they have a small kitchen. Definitely worth the wait. Chat with Phil and time will fly by.

Très bien, personnel très agréable, nourriture Excellente et grands portions. Dessin et crayons pour faire patienter les enfants.
En revanche en fin de service la salle principale était vraiment en très gros bazar et les toilettes très très sales. Dommage pour le client qui est encore present dans les Lieux!

The most amazing fish and chips in town! We stumbled upon this restaurant one evening and it was fate that we did. Not only was our meal 5 stars but the service is out of this world! Phil is by far, the most entertaining server we’ve ever had. So many laughs throughout the evening, if he doesn’t do standup comedy, he should! Highly recommend this spot!

Delicious fish and chips place. They give the option of having fish with steamed rice instead of fried. The waiter was very fun and quirky.

The fish & chips are amazing, very large pieces with crispy batter. The burger is juicy and flavourful. Not only is the food good but the server and cooks are great people with an amazing sense of humour.

What a dream! Such fun service, and we were able to have gluten free fish and chips! So yummy - the sweet potato fries were divine.

Beautiful spot to dine outdoors in Charlottetown. Water Street can be a little busy, and the wait can be long during busy hours. But, the food is worth it!

Never again. 10 people in the place besides us and it took 90 minutes for the worst fish tacos we ever had. Only 4 items on the menu on a Friday evening. We now know why the place was nearly empty.

Very old authentic shop for fish & chips. Sea food player is also good. Dealing of the owner with the customer is very cordial.

I'm from out of town and everything in the neighborhood was closed. Went here as a final option and next time it will be the first! Fish tacos highly recommended and excellent service.

Stopped in here for a bite on a whim while strolling down the streets of Charlottetown. Amazing service and food in a unique atmosphere. Pricing was great and I'll definitely be returning to this gem.

Food was excellent. We ordered take out and there was some miscommunication internally that caused us to get the wrong order. The staff was apologetic and remedied the situation, which I appreciated.

Delicious food, reasonable price and great waitresses. We stopped in the afternoon and had coffee and left a less mobile member of our party there while we walked around the downtown. Very helpful and friendly waitress then and the one that took over when we came back for supper was also very helpful.

Hospitality was prompt and friendly. Had the shrimp wrap with PEI fries. Overall, a tasty dish but would have preferred traditional corn wraps instead of flour. Fries were great!

This used to be a great place to eat, sadly it is not anymore. The fish & chips were terrible, heavy batter that was too dark outside and almost raw inside, very doughy.
There was a pool of fryer grease under my piece of fish and I used 3 napkins to gently squeeze oil from it before attempting to try it.

We walkes though victoria row and down to the waterfront in charlottetown and stumbled across this place while we were exploring. Decided to stop as my husband was hungry. I was a bit iffy as the place was empty at lunch time. This was my best meal in p.e. I, i had the crispy chicken sandwich it was amazing with ceaser salad. Husband had fish and chips which was also to die for with their home made tartar sauce.

The. Best. Chowder! And mussels, and onion rings, and wine.a great feast after cycling in the rain all day! Right in the heart of Charlottetown.
