Went for dinner a few weeks ago with my friends and got out of there dissapointed
One of my friends steak was completely raw. We got attitude from the manager twice during the process.
The steak came back 20 minutes later, by then everyone was done their food…

Service was great but the food for what you pay for was mediocre. Won’t be back.

Expérience unique dans cet établissement renommé pour ses viandes. Celles-ci furent à la hauteur de ce qu’on en dit, et le service a été extraordinaire. Cependant, les plats d’accompagnement pourraient bénéficier de l’attention accordée aux viandes, car leur cuisson et présentation laissaient à désirer lors de notre visite.

I have eaten around the world and worked in restaurants for about six years. 40 Westt is an institution and nothing I say will have any effect, but, you have been warned. At these prices, I would have expected perfection. This is nowhere near the service or food subtlety I expect for the prices they are asking. To say I am disappointed doesn't cover it. Sorry, everyone, sorry for our group most of all.

World Class Food & Service

Wow Wow Wow, what an excellent experience. We chose 40 Westt for our company holiday supper and we are so happy that we did.

Anthony overseas his team with great detail and pride. From the moment we walked in, the 3 hostesses received us with glowing smiles and all the assistance we needed to feel welcomed. Our food varying from steaks to seafood was nothing less than perfection. Our waitress Farah gave us exceptional service from beginning to end, her recommendations were on point for everyone and she never steered from our every need. Although this was not our first time at 40 Westt, overall I have to say that this is one of our finest dining experiences. It all ran smoothly, everything was delicious and we wanted for nothing. I can only say with great conviction that I would highly recommend to all who seek the best of the best.

The service offered by Stephen and David was second to none. They’re both amazing and make a great tag team. Sure the food is great but it’s about
the grace with which it was served.

La nourriture excellente, je m’en souviendrai toujours, bœuf très tendre et goûteux, pour 4 personnes $600.00, dispendieux mais pour un anniversaire une fois par année…. Beaucoup de bruit car c’est plein de monde pour un vendredi pour le souper.

The restaurant is classy and the waiters provided impeccable service.
The only reason I’m taking off a star is because the steak I had was 30-40% fat, so I couldn’t fully enjoy the cut of meat. The other dishes served were tasty!

Je donne 2 étoiles car l’expérience n’était pas au top. C’était une fête surprise donc logiquement nous devions nous rendre sur place plus tard. Lors de l’arrivé personne ne nous parle à l’entrée j’ai dû arrêté une personne du staff qui marchait dans le resto. Lorsqu’on arrive à la table, on nous demande de faire un choix rapidement, les serveurs ont été très snob du début jusqu’à ce qu’il était temps de partir. J’avais amené des desserts et après avoir donné 3 fois des instructions pour couper le gâteau on m’a enfin compris. Ils ont oublié de mettre le cake topper sur le gâteau et lorsqu’ils l’ont trouvé, ils l’ont cassé. La nourriture était bonne mais les plats étaient moins fourni que je le pensais. J’aurais cru qu’il y aurait au moins des légumes avec la viande et pas seulement des patates.

Hard to pick at anything here. Everything was amazing. The desert with the fig sauce was out of this world and service is what you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. Top notch!

Un steakhouse grandiose, un peu style américain. Très "m'as-tu vu". Liste des vins acceptable.

Truly a fabulous establishment, the decor, the people and oh my the steaks! Prime cuts of meat, seasoned just right and cooked perfectly. When in town, will definitely visit again.

Dont believe the hype. The place is very average for the price.
There are better steakhouses that provide better service and food for less.

I’ve eaten here a few times already so now I can say that service is on point and consistent. Roxanna who served us last weekend was top notch. Super friendly and on point! If I owned a restaurant I’d snatch her right up. The rest of the staff as well. We never had to ask for anything and the tables was consistently cleaned and water was consistently filled. It’s pricey but it comes with the service!

I had the lamb chops and they were just delicious. The plate was pretty big. Got about 4 - 5 rather large chops with a side of mash and asparagus. I’m actually craving it as I write this review.

Lastly the outside terrace is awesome. Great place to go out and have a drink after dinner with their cozy patio furniture surrounded by greenery. Feels like you’re on vacation. Definitely going back.

The food is amazing, they really know how to cook and season their steaks! A little price but overall very good and very friendly staff!

Hi everyone, i have been going there for over 20 years and i hesitated on posting this but i am since last night and the time before in May, the experience was terrible.

Thanks to Max, one of the manager and my server Crystal for their professionalism and were extra nice. Five stars for them, for sure!

Here's what happened last night:
It was my best friend's birthday so i made the reservation on line and in the comment bow (that they have on their site) i specifically ask to be on the bar side, because they have live music on Fridays and Saturdays and i also mention that it was for a birthday. Evrything was confirmed!

Our reservation is at 6: 15. We get there on time and i am very excited to celebrate:)

The 3 hostesses at the frontdesk are all busy talking to eachother. One ask for my name and tell me that we have a table on the other side.

I repied saying that i requested the bar and specified that it was a special occasion and that i wrote all this in the comment box. She could not do anything about it, she said she was not aware and i had no other choici since the bar area had a reservation for a special event.

I ask to see the manager and he came, with his all wrinkled pink suit and couldn't care less and simply said that he apologized and that the girl earlier did not look at the reservations on line so they couldn't let me know about my special requests, since no one say it.

I also remembered him and mention that i was there last May and i was on the bar side and that a glass of wine, that was already chipped and nobody saw it including myself, broke in my mouth. He was already had one to many drinks and again apologized and offered me another glass that i had to asked 3 times to get it. It was a very busy evening.

Then came Max, another manager, well dressed, polite, sharp and he personally made sure everything was good from now on.

We had a very nice server: Chrystel.

I know that i am not always easy but i ALWAYS had the best experience at that restaurant and that is why i don't mind driving 40 min to go there whenever i can.

I know since Covid everything has changed and employees are rare and somewhat le service a la clientele, not sure they remember what it is? This is not some beat-up ordinary restaurant, it is one of the best!

***The reasons that i wanted to go there was not just for my best friend's birthday but also because 7 weeks ago, he had an emergency open heart surgery and he miraculously survived.
That was a big thing for him and me and i wanted him to have a great evening.

Stephanie was our server, and she was top notch all the way. The Filet Mignon is one like no other, melted cheese with the mashed potatoes. It’s so nice to see a family run restaurant where the owners actually care about the service.

Wow what an experience, quality at its highest and best, I haven’t seen anything like this in Montreal yet! I’ve been around and I’ve dined around, but just wow, Anthony the manager served our table, THE MANAGER served us, wow, Lucas was great. Explained all the steaks while service. Anthony brought the basket of meat and took his time to explain the different kind of meat available. We ended up ordering samples for next time to know what to order, cowboy cur, wow, the sea food plate, amazingly delicious.

Stephanie is the bomb, always smiling, accommodating, very understanding and always around, she rectifies customer service and hospitality, there are no words to describe how high quality this place is and how they take care of you, this is my favorite place now.

If you want amazing treatment, an extraordinary experience, quality food, VIP TREATMENT, then 40 Westt is your place. Thank you for An amazing experience.

This is my favorite restaurant in Montreal. Their food is delicious. Service impeccable. Wine and cocktails on point. It is the best place for steak ans seafood. Plus it has enough parking space. What else Cam you ask for?

A friend brought us for dinner here. I can't imagine what the bill was as the wine was flowing and we ate seafood.came back for a bday party. Lamb chops were awesome. I don't eat dessert but I did here.

Entree, were overpriced for what they gave you, also my brother in law took the lamb and got food poisoning from eating it all night he was in the bathroom. Very expensive for what you got I would not recommend going there unless you want to pay a lot for your meal.

American style classic Steakhouse with huge parking, quite ok food and service; but the overall atmosphere feels incredibly outworn.

Very disappointing experience. The only part of the experience that was good was the service. The food was beyond mediocre, even the bread on the table was stale. For the price tag of the meal, we expected much more. Their bathroom are worse than a gas station with doors that don’t close or lock, clogged sinks and broken faucets. Would not return!

Lunch during weekend day. Food is fresh and served on time. The place was busy as we saw the waiting staff moving at a fast pace. The service needs to be trai e as the waitress dropped part of the food on my ate on me and the knife in my pocket. Other than the issue, the food was fine.

I had my wedding at 40 Westt this May and everything from the staff to the food was perfect! We are so happy we chose this restaurant to celebrate our marriage with our family and friends. All of our guests had a wonderful time and delicious food. 190 steaks cooked to each guest’s preference … incredible! I would recommend 40 Westt for any event. We love you! Thank you for the best wedding ever!

Perfect experience thanks to our waiter Brendyn. His recommendations were top notch and service was impeccable. What a night!
