Abbey Roofing

Abbey Roofing does not hold an RBQ license. A false RBQ number is listed on the website of this company and on the company vehicle. The license was lost when the company was bought from the previous owner in December 2019. A formal investigation is being conducted by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec.

Abbey Roofing replaced the shingles on our house. The work was done to a very high standard, started promptly, and finished on time, with the least amount of interruption. Timelines and the nature of the task were made explicit.

I recently had a wind storm that caused some damage to my roof. I contacted Abbey Roofing and they were quick to respond and assess the damage. They were able to replace the blown off shingles and aluminum soffits efficiently and effectively. I was very impressed with the speed and quality of their work. Overall, I highly recommend Abbey Roofing for any roofing needs. They are reliable, efficient, and do excellent work.

Abbey Roofing’s crew was outstanding. They maneuvered around our high and complicated roof with ease. We have a steep Canadian roof with three front dormer windows, all of which got new flashing and caulking. Every member was professional and respectful during their interactions with my wife and I. They worked at a good pace and did a thorough cleanup.

Our house had the roof done by Abbey Roofing, with all the promises of "10 year warranty from Abbey roofing" and "30 year self sealing BP shingles" with "lifetime warranty". Blah Blah Blah Unfortunately none of this means anything because when the shingles started falling off my roof, within the 10 year warranty, Andre and Kevin have done nothing to rectify the situation! They came by, took the shingles that had fallen off, with them. They took others off the roof to send to BP, told me it was an issue with the shingles and that I, me, myself have to deal with BP to get this rectified. I have been very patient with them. But now, after 2 years of back and forth, I'm done. So buyer beware, they don't stand by their work, they blame THEIR supplier, they blame the previous owner of the business, they blame everyone else but they do nothing to help YOU! You're on your own when there's an issue. My house is an example of their work, if you would like to pass by and have a look. I'm tired of picking up shingles, so now I just leave them where they fall.

Met with a few roofing companies to evaluate all possible options. Abbey Roofing had worked on a few other houses in our neighborhood and my neighbors gave nothing but good feedback on them. After meeting Steve and his partner, it was a very positive exchange about all the work and the process. They were very honest about their busy schedule without ever pressuring me to sign with them. It feels even more gratifying after the job was complete and you see the effort they put in with all the details. They didn't cut any corners and made sure the job was 100% to my satisfaction. Even after the job was complete, they gave me an extra box of shingles just in case which was a great gesture. Very pleased I made a great choice choosing them and would recommend them for sure.

Had high expectations from this company but the owner Andre has let me down. They did my roof Sept. 2021 almost $20k invoice paid and in late June this year 2022 there was a roof leak which damaged my ceiling after those heavy downpours, wind and thunderstorms. Owner showed up to check and promised to send two guys to verify where in the roof the leak is coming from. Two weeks later and multiple calls made to his cell # and nothing…no callbacks, not a peep. Extremely unprofessional attitude although they claim 10 year warranty against any leak and he is aware that my case is urgent and that it’s due to poor workmanship from his crew. Don’t go with this company not worth the hassle in case you have issues.

I lost few shingles in the crazy windstorm we had during Dec 11 2021. It was really bad time to lose the shingles. I reached out to Abbey roofing and explained the situation. Their team consists of Andre, Steve and Greg came right on time and fixed it for me. For all my future needs with my roof I would go with their company

I had a few issues with the old owner of Abbey roofing who was unable to fix a problem with the roof that he installed. Andre the new owner responded to me and compensated me for the poor response of the old owner. Stand up Honest guy. He could have walked away from the whole issue.

Our roof was redone last year.during the winter and spring, we noticed water pouring down from behind the gutters and from the soffits.on the roof, we noticed that water accumulated on the last row of shingles. This is called Shingle Pondling. This causes roof water to go through the shingles and behind the drip edge and gutters, wroughting the soffits and fascias. The reason for this is that the drip edge was not installed properly. It should have pointed down and away from the facias. It pointed down and was not pointing away from the fascia. It was laying tightly on the leaf protector in the gutters which was causing the shingles to be pointing up instead of down and causing the water accumulation. See the pictures.
We called and left messages at least five times in June and early July.without getting a single response from the company. On July 6, we finally spoke to Mr. Kevin Moore and explained to him the problem. He told us that he would call us back on July 9 to schedule a visit. He never called us back. In August, we again left messages and no one called back.
Finally during the first week of September, we called again and André Desjardins (he told us he was the owner) answered and told us that he would meet with us on the following Tuesday, September 8. We drove from our Laurentian cottage (150 km) and met with him. He told us that we were now speaking to the owner and the problem would be fixed by Friday August 11. We never saw his team. On Saturday afternoon, he called and told us that one of his employees had looked at the roof and said that the gutters seemed to be overflowing. The only time that there was nobody at the house was on Saturday morning for about one hour. We agreed to another visit on Monday Sep. 14. We again drove for 150km, and inspected the gutters and they were ok and not overflowing.
We waited for him on Monday and we called him at around 11am. He told us that he would be there in the afternoon. He never came by. On Tuesday September 15,2020 we left a message on his cellular and he never called back. Do not trust the reviews you see. Just read the ones that were made in the last few months. Do not believe the lies that appear on their website regarding client satisfaction and prompt replies.

Called and left messages never returned my calls, I guess they don't care about your business

I am not saying your work is not good. I think a week is more than sufficient time to call back someone. Just like you took the time to reply to this post.

This company is not trust worthy. After being told by the owner himself that they would honour my Guarantee on my new Abbey roof and come and do the small repairs after I had water infiltration in my living room they simply gave me a run around. I called them many times and begged them to help me Their answer was were too busy. This company has been working in the West Island for decades but the company was recently sold don’t deal with these people they are not responsible. I am in the process of making a formal complaint with the RBQ
