Abu el zulof

One of the best middle eastern food I’ve had in Montreal. Great atmosphere with live music and dancing (if you like to dance), great staff too.
I’ll definitely be back!

Amazing food! The kebbeh, the Mohamara, the Hummus, the fattoush and the grilled meat were perfect!

Our first trip to Montreal and tonight we tried a meal at Abu el Zulof. Centrally located in downtown, near a lot of great hotels. We ordered food to go and we LOVED it! We had the fatoush salad, arugula halloumi salad, shakeriya (lamb shank w/yogurt sauce), batersh (my first time having something like this: it was like babaghanoush with a tomato sauce and lamb strips. My favorite dish of the night!), rice, and pita bread. The staff was all very friendly. They have music on Fri/Sat nights, so we missed that unfortunately because today is a Sunday. Highly recommended for some great middle eastern food!

I would not say it was anything special or better than any other restaurant of the same concept. In fact, it’s the smallest and most crowded place I’ve ever been into. No room to dance, no room to move around without hitting or bumping into other people. The menu is a one pager with few items and extremely expensive. We were expecting a taste that would warrant such prices but we were disappointed. High prices for mediocre quality. The service is slow and unorganized. The only good thing going for this place is the entertainment. The singer was very good, we enjoyed the atmosphere that he created. Other than that, iI would call it a waste of money and time. Will never visit again. But I will go hear the singer at another venue.

Récemment, j'ai eu la chance de dîner chez Abu el Zulof, un restaurant qui a su me séduire par la qualité de ses plats et son ambiance incomparable.
Pour commencer, la cuisine était tout simplement savoureuse. Les saveurs étaient subtilement équilibrées, pour une explosion de goûts en bouche.
Mais, sans conteste, la musique qui accompagnait notre repas était l'un des points forts de la soirée. Imad, l'organiste, était remarquable.
Elie le Dj, Rosette et Georges, les chanteurs, ont ajouté leur touche avec leurs voix envoûtantes. Un vrai voyage musical qui nous a transportés hors du temps, au Liban, Syrie.

Enfin, le personnel a également contribué à notre expérience, avec son accueil attentionné et chaleureux.

Très bonne nourriture, très belle ambiance, excellente chanteuse Rosette, l'organiste avec beaucoup d'experience Imad Aoun, une bellydancet, un excellent DJ. Vraiment un concept complet pour passer une belle soirée entre ami

It was a good experience. Amazing artists, good food, but they were not serving water often (1 bottle for 10). They gave us a dish of ice cream for free. However, I found it a little expensive. The shoe costs $15 per person and they don't say that anywhere, they just put it on the bill. It's ok, the artists where wonderful, but they should have tell us up front or post it anywhere on their website.
They could improve by adding pictures on the menu. We were not familiar with the names of the dishes and didn't know what we were ordering.

I went in while they were about to close but they saw I was hungry and accomodated me. The food is 11/10, flavour profile is fantastic, ambience is so welcoming. Just the perfect place to be!

Why did not you mention that we have to pay 15$ per person for live music, when I called to make a reservation! This is not acceptable.

I really love this place. The decor is great and the food is amazing. We had a chance to try a bit of everything and were very happy to have found this place. The salad is great and all mazzas had an amazing flavour to each of them.

We called the restaurant a few days before our visit. We had been told live music would not be featured on Friday night; despite it being otherwise mentioned on their website. On the night of our visit, we were almost done with our meal when a vocalist showed up, to our surprise. So we decided to stay a little longer. We were not informed about any fees associated with the live music, and this information was not provided on either the menu or the website. Consequently, we were pretty surprised when we received the bill and discovered a charge of 15 CAD per person for the musical performance. This unclear policy regarding the music fees had a negative impact on our experience at the restaurant. We do not plan on returning to this restaurant and cannot recommend it.

Good food and entertainment. My only suggestion is to cut down on the red Chilli pepper when spicing the food especially for their combination grilled platter.

Poor service, I had to wait for ages to get someone to find a seat then vey slow service, definitely not experience for what they offer.
Food is below average. Just gave them two stars for the location.

This is the best Arabic restaurant I’ve been to in Montreal hands down. The atmosphere, the food, the comfortability, the service. Just wonderful. It’s better than Damas for me. By far. The food here hit me right at home like no other place could. Thank you.

A chaque fois je Ramène ma petite fille avec moi (4 fois), ce samedi j'ai appelé comme d'habitude pour la réservation il m'a dit qu'on n'accepte pas les enfants ça fait un bon moment. Le problème que la semaine dernière j'étais là bas avec ma petite!

Prices are quite expensive, but for some dishes, it is well worth it. Especially for the atmosphere

The service was impeccable from the start. I went there a couple of times, the food presentation and taste were amazing. The atmosphere was wonderful. Very happy with the service and the quality of their presentation and food. Definitely, i can highly recommend you.
