I took Celpip exam here. Exams are usually stressful. But Santatra - the staff - makes everything easier. He welcomed us very friendly. He spread positivity to make you feel better before the exam. Strongly suggest you to take your English exam here! Thanks Santa!:)

Worst experience with this school for my tef test. More than 40 mins delay without any notice, and when you asked why they didn't give us a notice about the problem of the computer, they just went away without answering. You can experience the poorest management in this world. Do go for your test with this school, it is just a waste of your time and money.

I took my CELPIP test here and the staff was very friendly and welcoming, the test supervisor explained everything in detail and during the test itself there was no problem. Location is good if you're also looking for a convenient place (both for the test and their language courses) as it is right at the exit of the Sherbrooke metro station (take the Berri Est exit), they have a vending machine in the cafeteria and a place to safely deposit your things while you're taking the test.

It was amazing! The test is a test, so of course it was stressful, but the proctor was wonderful.

I took my TefaQ test with them and I had a great experience overall. They were super professional and nice. They took the time to explain me every single step and also helped me with all my questions. I totally recommend this place if you are looking to pass your French exams! Location wise, its literally next to metro sherbrook so its makes it easy to commute. 5 stars ️

Les personnes qui m'ont accueilli sont très gentille et à l'écoute de toutes question que l'on pourrai avoir.

ACL offre un accueil chaleureux, une formation adéquate et tres riche pour passer le test. Un cadre simple et familial où fait son test tranquillement avec des superviseurs disponibles et aimables.

Tried to contact them via email, and phones multiple times and even left a message and never get any response. Waste of time.

Edited: This review was made almost 10 days after I had contacted. First, I contacted you guys on your webpage. Fine, perhaps, the contact info on your webpage did not get my info through. I called and left a voice message on the 3rd February. Plus I was actually trying to register for French courses, not CELPIP registration. Your response does not answer to my problem mentioned above but thanks.

My computer screen gets black twice in the reading section and I missed two sections of the reading I am really disappointing from this experience

He give me the wrong information. I took The course my score was worst, They also offer me a tef blanc, they never scheduled, They  ask me to write an email. The answer was registered  again pay again

The senior lady in charge (reception and evaluator) is very rude and unfriendly. She has no empathy even though she aknowledges the importance of the test for inmigrants.

She's giving you the attitude from the reception and then you meet her in the room to find out she's your evaluator.not nice! It's hard to believe she's objective when evualting.

I asked to take the written comprehension test and on the day of the test, they scheduled the oral comprehension test for me, they couldn't solve my problem and I had to return home, I wasted my time

Worst CX ever, a rude agent just hanged up on me! You guys can't do your job right, I called to fix the problem, first time the agent told me someone will get back to me then nothing ever happened, second time, the rude agent refuse to listen and hang up when I am still talking. This is ridiculous!

Les installations à l'intérieur du bâtiment étaient extrêmement froides. Aussi. Je ne sais pas si c'est la personne en charge de l'institut ou non, mais la personne du bureau, une femme âgée aux cheveux roux, est très impolie, son attitude envers le client n'est pas très bonne et elle semble même arrogante. The other staff members were nice and polite.

We took TEF canada exam. My friend got his result within a 3 weeks & We were waiting for 6 weeks.
They did not reply our emails correctly and just tell wait.
After 7 weeks when our deadline finished.
We asked them to refund us!
They send us results just in 10 minutes and told us: your results has been prepared 3 weeks after the exam!
They also claimed that they already sent us the result but it was definitely wrong!
We checked all the inbox, out box, trash, spam but there was nothing!
In this fast world no one has time to wait for their result for more than a month

La pire expérience de ma vie, vraiment pas de bon sens, quand on met quelqu’un directeur, c’est pour avoir quelqu’un à qui se tourner quand on a un problème, ce qui est bizarre dans le cas de ce centre, c’est que la directrice (une vielle dame très aggressive) et en fois le plus gros problème du centre. Très irrespectueuse, et très Arrogante sans aucune empathie.
Je souhaite vraiment que la situation soit corrigée, Car c’est vraiment pas correct.

Service à la clientèle exécrable. Proposées vraiment bêtes avec les clients ayant un problème à résoudre. Ne répondent pas lors de demande de remboursement

I took TEF canada exam on 3rd may & my friend took on 5th may. My friend got his result within a 3 weeks & I am still waiting after 4 weeks. The standard reply is “paris will decide”. This all french institution have to learn from IELTS. They provide the result in 3-5 business days. In this fast world no one has time to wait for their result for more than a month.

I have started online A1 French courses at ALC and am very happy! The book and classes are well structured, I feel that I am making real progress each week. Our teacher Béatrice is lovely, very patient and easy to understand.

Cette école était fantastique! J'ai aimé ma professeure (Béatrice), elle est la meilleure de toutes et ses méthods d'enseignement sont simplement géniales, très variées et amusantes. L'apprentissage devient agréable avec elle. De plus, Benoit Claudel est très poli, sympathique et serviable avec tout.

Le jour où j'ai passé le test TEF au 30 novembre, à côté de mon poste informatique (dernier rang), il y avait des enfants ou adultes (dans une petite salle séparée avec une porte toute mince) qui a parlé sans cesse et a cri parfois. Cela m'a beaucoup dérangé: j'ai été interrompu régulièrement! Ce n'est pas sérieux! J'ai reçu mon résultat qui ne satisfait pas l'exigence de ma profession. C'est déçu de cette manière
De plus, à la fin de l'examen, quand j'ai posé une question à un agent qui est gentil, il ne savait pas y répondre. En revanche, une dame a passé et m'a répondu à une voie dédaigneuse.
J'aurais du choisi un autre centre de passation.

Donc, je déconseille fortement ce centre de passation! Save your money, go to another one!

C’est une grande école! J’aime les enseignants et le personnel. L’école m’informe toujours des mises à jour et le personnel est toujours réceptif à la communication par courriel. Le programme d’apprentissage à distance est bien meilleur que d’autres écoles que j’ai vues. J’apprends de nouvelles choses tous les jours.choisissez ici si vous voulez améliorer votre langue et atteindre votre objectif!

TEF UdeM (similaire au TEF Express) : J’ai bien aimé les cours avec Alexandra. Elle est très gentille! Les cours offrent de bons trucs pour passer l’examen. Benoit Claudel était aussi disponible et vite à répondre à ses courriels lorsque j’avais des questions. La seule chose que j’ajouterais et qui était problématique est lors de la journée d’examen. Lorsqu’il y a des appels à la réception nous entendons très fort la personne à l’avant et cela n’aide pas avec la concentration durant l’examen. Aussi, je crois qu’il serait important de demander à ceux qui passent l’examen de ne pas avoir leur cellulaire sur eux car le cellulaire de la personne à côté de moi n’arrêtait pas de sonner et cela aussi n’aide pas. Je recommende tout de même les cours puisqu’ils offrent de bons conseils pour l’examen- j’ai passé l’examen.

The old lady who is the director of ALC is the most arrogant and disrespectful person I’ve ever had to deal with.

She is the typical abusive French elementary school teacher personality type. All she does is yell and whine and blame you for everything. She knows you need her more than she needs you and once they have your money, you become basically worthless to them.

I’m a native French speaker and even I had a hard time having an adult conversation with her. If you don’t want to be verbally abused and publicly humiliated, I suggest you take your business somewhere else.

I started taking private french lessons at ALC (via skype due tot he pandemic), after trying other courses in other institutions. I noticed an improvement in my french after a few weeks. The teacher is attentive and nice and she explains everything. The teaching method is diverse (books, reading, listening, stories and articles). The staff is friendly and answers quickly. The private lessons are a bit pricy but for now its worth the investment. Remember that you will need to also study on your own if you want to improve more.

I took my CELPIP test in the this centre. It was terrible. The keyboard was in French and I was not able to find some button like the Delete or Shift.can you imagine that the keyboard is in French while your test is in English? Very noisy and too hot environment during the test.

J'ai appelé pour demander des renseignements sur les testes et la personne qui m'a répondu est terriblement arrogante (ça se ressent tellement). Un service à la clientèle où on veut se débarrasser vite du client? ! C'est sur que je ne vais pas passer mon teste dans cette soit disant "académie"

J'ai suivi un cours préparatoire au CÉFRANC avec l'enseignant Yulian.
Un enseignant professionnel, organisé et qui, surtout, maîtrise tous les notions nécessaires pour ce cours.
En ce qui concerne la communication avec le coordinateur de l'école,
je suis bien satisfaite du service. Il a toujours répondu rapidement à mes courriels en étant courtois et en s'exprimant clairement.

Worst school to take french tests. They don't give you money back if you have trouble with your appointment and don't give options to solve the issues.

J'ai suivi le cours de français complet proposé par l'école entre 2018 et 2019. C'était toujours une petit groupe (max 8 étudiants). Je n'avais que de bons profs et je n'ai jamais eu de problème avec personne là-bas. À l'époque, je parlais toujours avec Alice et tout problème (pas beaucoup) a été rapidement réglé avec sympathie. Ma femme viens de commencer le cours privé en ligne et tout va bien aussi. Je recommande ALC sans hésitation.

The old lady that works here is the most direspectful human being I have ever met. Don’t go there if you can, she does not deserve your attention or your money.

I speak both English and French perfectly, so the language barrier is not the issue with this lady, her behavior is the problem.

I have been taking private lessons online since the beginning of the pandemic and I must say that they have been great so far. All of my questions are promptly answered and they are concerned about their students. My French level is improving a lot! I am learning with native speakers and, of course, studying a lot on my own too. I will start preparing for TEFAQ next week and I am confident that they are competent and will help me succeed.

The worst centre I have ever went to.
1. There is this senior lady there, she is very disrespectful. She can make you stressed and nervous before your exam.
2. Not professional: they made mistake in my registration and wasted my time more than a months.
3. They gave me wrong informations.
4. No support: in fact after you give them money, they dont care about you in case of facing problems.
5. No accohntability.
6. They did not respect the time limits. I was suppose to receive my exam results in few weeks but it took much more than that.

The managment and staff are unprofessional, disorginised, rude, and authoritarian - no doubt they are great fans of Adolf Hitler! There are many better schools in Montreal, go anywhere but here. Also read the other comments - there are so so many cases of them cheating people out of their money.

I strongly recommend this school for allophones who need to improve TFI score. I had reached a plato getting a similar score on consecutive tests which impeded entry into a university program of my choice. Following ACL curriculum I was able to boost my performance by almost 120 points in one month from 800-820 to 925. No doubt, you need to have a certain base level and yes most of the work is on the student. Nevertheless, to pass the test successfully, person needs to know what to study, as well as to understand what to expect during the test. ACL preparation course was great in both. The study material is very thorough and specific. Also, they give you a pretty good feel of what is test going to be like. The course is structured to give progressive exposure to listening and reading comprehention parts, covering pertinent topics. I am very glad that I took an intensive TFI prep course at ACL. Rarely do I write reviews, but this one is more like an advice to those who might need it:) Best of luck to all students.

Excellente école! Ma fille y a suivi une préparation au TOEIC du 4 au 28 juin 2019 (9 heures de cours/semaine durant 4 semaines - 3 TOEIC blancs - 6 heures de labo). Elle a débuté sa formation avec un 1er test où elle a obtenu 600/990. Sa professeure a fait preuve, en permanence, d'une très grand compétence, d'une excellente pédagogie et d'une extrême gentillesse. L'ensemble de l'équipe pédagogique et la direction ont toujours été très bienveillants et disponibles. A l'issue de sa formation, ma fille a passé le Test TOEIC officiel le 29 juin 2019: elle a obtenu 825/990. Merci infiniment à toute l'équipe d'ALC!

I needed an 80 to pass the tfi. I took a practice test before using ALC and got a 55. I went their routinely for a month and then rewrote the exam and passed with an 81. I was tutored by Yulian who was amazing and all the people there are extremely friendly and accommodating and will help you succeed. Highly recommended. Merci!
