Aikawa Sushi Restaurant West Island Montreal Japanese Cuisine Delivery, Take Out, Sushi à emporter et livraison

We have visited Aikawa many times over the years when it was located in the back end of a strip mall on Brunswick and now finally had a chance to try them in their (relatively) new digs in the Galeries des Source mall, with a huge sign facing the highway. The resto is quite large following an 'L' shaped pattern with a long sushi bar at the entrance and a large number of tables on the side and to the back, including a large private room at the back. A nice touch is the tv screen showing examples of their specialty sushi maki rolls.certainly helped us to make our decisions.

For food, we had Miso Soup (a classic.no issues) and the Green Salad (OK.the dressing was not mixed into the leaves enough), as well as Edamame to start. For our mains, Chicken Teriyaki (served on a sizzling skillet.very good although the portion size has reduced over the years), and a large sushi plate (Hamachi, Magura and Sake.all very fresh fish, definitely not from frozen.and all very good), The West Island, Spicy Salmon and Twister.which also were very good. All in all, I was very happy with the sushi quality and presentation.

The only (nominal) downside is the ambiance of the restaurant. While the décor is very nice it seems a bit sterile or at least lacks a measure of warmth. Not sure why, just a sense we had but that did not take away from either the food or the service. Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy!

I was very disappointed today at lunch. I had very good sushi in the past. Today I had the chef's special and it was tasteless and very plain. I was too embarrassed because I had invited a friend for lunch, but I would have spoken to the manager. It was the worst sushi I had in a while and at a restaurant I was so fond of! I seriously should have asked for a refund! Expensive and tasteless.

Super restaurant! Delicious food and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is also very nice. Friendly and excellent service. The owner discovered one of us had a birthday and surprised her with a birthday dessert. Our new favourite restaurant

Host was nice, one waiter don’t look too friendly, no smiles, just serious face but he did refill my glass when needed.that’s a good sign.luckily my waitress was more friendly and nice! She recommended we take the “besame mucho” and sushi sashimi which was the lunch hour special menu.most of the stuffs on platter was raw.it’s what sushi is about anyways. I’m not used to eating lots of raw pieces LOL.it was quite an experience too! Also, the sushi pieces which was deep fried.it was overdone.like it was fried multiple times.super dry.it didn’t feel like it was fresh.as if it was leftovers.

In addition to the exceptional sushi, our server Renee was absolutely fantastic! She was very helpful and personable. She made excellent suggestions, and made our visit the best ever.

Love this new location of Aikawa. The food was impeccable. The delicate, bite size, full of flavor pieces are there to leave your taste buds delighted. We tried the sushi pizza, tartare, Heaven plate and a few others. To top it off, our waitress Renee, who remembered us after few years of not visiting, recommended our last plate and it did not disappoint. She even mentioned that we had it before.what a great memory, Well done! Definitely going back.

Focusing more on specialized Makis than traditional Japanese fare. If you love the rolls, this place will appeal to you.

If you are looking for traditional Japanese style sushi, expect blank stares from the chefs.

Renée welcomed us in the new location with some fanfare. We’re regulars. We had tempura for entre and sashimi for the main. As usual this experience was a memorable one. Sooo fresh and delicious. Presentation was delicate and beautiful. This new location is ideal for parking availability. The decor is what we expected with Aikawa, tasteful and wonderful. Awesome!

I got sick because of Sashimi.
My girlfriend told me that their sushi is very ordinary comparing to other places like Kyomi.
They didn't have good services either.
Mostly, they were busy with their old customes.
Definitly, Aikawa is overrated.

Second time I dined here and I have to say.the sushi was fresh, presented beautifully and delicious!

Only thing for me is that the place is a little dated but good news.they will moving soon to a new spot in April with renovations so that's good to know.

Also it's a little pricy but well.you gotta pay for quality sushi! This ain't no all you can eat stuff.

I usually go to the west island Sushi Buffet restaurant with my family, but this year, I decide to try the Aikawa Sushi restaurant that was said to be fresh and "the best". Before booking my table, I did a little bit research online about this restaurant review.i was aware that the food is expensive and service was not friendly.but i thought that review was 2 years ago, they might have been a little bit improved.with this bad impression mind, I booked a table for 6 people for the new year's Even dinner.what we experienced during the dinning gave me a slap and proved I was wrong to make such a dinner reservation with this restaurant.we still face unfriendly services.what made me come to here to give them this review is that final billing time.the gentleman who served our table forced us to pay 15% tips.he was so aggressive that he even used his hand to press the 15% button for the tips.our order was not small (>400$). I was so astonished by what he did on this! No word!
just a kind remind for Sushi eater, be cautious when get in this restaurant for Sushi, the food was not as fresh as the other reviewer commented.my experience is that the Sushi Buffet restaurant provide better food and service than this one.at least I have never experienced forced tip request by pressing the PSOE button machine by the servant themselves!

High end Sushi Place in West Island of Montreal. The service was impeccable and the sushis are simply delicious! Strongly recommend!

It's OK, friendly staff, food was mediocre atmosphere feels like you're in a bus station.

I've lived in Japan I know what good sushi is at least the Wasabi was hot would not go there again.

Take-out isn't as good as dining in, so seeing it's pricey I suggest dining in.

Given we were a group of 20 ppl we had the best service we could've hoped for. Very accomodatin, flexible and opened past there opening hours. Sushi was fresh and high quality.

The sushi was mediocre. The staff while efficient wasn't friendly at all. We did not feel they wanted us there. However pricing was reasonable but there was no explanation of how to order the sushi.

I just had their (Bonsai), it's normal. Even less than normal.
But the only negative I personally found was that I couldn't connect to their WiFi. Not only that but when I asked their answer was there's nothing wrong with our internet.
I guess my new Galaxy is going nuts.

Absolutely amazing! I ordered takeout and mentioned that someone with a gluten allergy would be having some of what I ordered…they made sure everything they included was completely free of gluten so I didn’t have to stress about possible contamination. Super quick service and super kind and helpful staff

Ordered from this restaurant about once per month throughout the entirety of Covid to support them. Now that things are getting better and the restaurant feels they do not need our business, they decided to stop delivering to our area. A real shame because it's a good restaurant but just goes to show how they do not value customer loyalty.

Whoever is creating the sushi here is an absolute genius. Ordered the Ultimate combo for my girlfriend and I and it is needless to say we will definitely be coming back when the dining room opens up.

Ordered from this restaurant for many years for our weekly office lunches and even ordered more throughout the entirety of Covid to support them. Now that we finaly went with our group od co-worker's to the restaurant feels like they do not need our business, i can definitely say its NOT THE SAME PLACE we liked so much before.
The service is very slow some of the order never made it yo our table and was still included in our bill the waiters is in the rush and were arguing that we have all we ordered.
Left the place with the filling we will not be back there.

Absolutely D E L I C I O U S. The specialty sushi rolls are to die for. We've been going for years, the quality is consistently 10/10. You can tell the chefs are artists and very detail oriented, it tastes like a labour of love. Probably the best sushi in Montreal. Would highly recommend the Besame Mucho, Volcano and Lips.

Last week was the first time in this restaurant. But It is definitely not the last time. We passed a splendid evening with the attentive service, with the great meal and wine and with the comfortable payment. We will absolutely go back there in a short time.

I called this afternoon at 2: 45pm and my order was ready within 30 minutes. The service was amazing and the food was so delicious, high quality and well done. The price was also very fair. This will be my go-to place from now on!

Bad sushi, bad tempura nd even soy sauce is the regular soy sauce and not for sushi. Only sashimi were eatable, not top quality.

OMG this was insanely good Japanese food. We tried the gyōza, tempura shrimp and the three person platter. What an epic feast. Everything was fresh and delicious.

This place is the one I always prefer. I eat in plenty of restaurants but to this one I keep coming back again and again. The stuff is very warm and the cooking they place on your table is so tasty. I am always happy to have a nice meal in this restaurant. I highly recommend this place.

Online ordering and pick up was really great, easy and safe. However, been ordering more than couple of times there and the level has gone down a bit. The taste is ok but nothing near a great amazing sushi.

I had an extraordinary experience at this place. We loved the fantastic vibes and the menu. The staff were very attentive. I am glad we eventually managed to try this place.

Very neat and welcoming restaurant. They serve big portions and for inexpensive prices. We loved the menu a lot and the staff were very welcoming and explanatory. Recommended.

This is our go to place for Japanese dishes including sashimi and sushi. Quiet not too busy great food excellent service. If you want to eat in peace and have a conversation this is the place to do it in.

Ok "Japanese" restaurant. Definitely better than a lot of "sushi" restaurants in Montreal but still lacked the deep flavour of fish and sushi in general.

Went for lunch. I had one of the lunch specials. It came with a miso soup which was full of flavour and the right amount of seaweed. It was followed by a seaweed salad which was a nice mix of seaweed and green lettuce seasoned with some house dressing. The salad was quite big and very delicious. For my main I had an assortment of nigiri, sashimi, and roll pieces, all which tasted fresh and had unique flavors from one another. I could not say that I had even one bad piece of fish. The prices were decent and matched the quality of the sushi being served. I would definitely return. Highly recommend.

Worst customer service. The manager has clearly never worked with the public before, he should definitely go get some hospitality training.
