Aréna Doug-Harvey

Although the ice rink is old, it is well managed. Under the management of community service staff, all activities are going on smoothly! Very convenient!

I remember as a kid playing hockey Outdoors in NDG Park one or two years before they started putting up these very similar rinks across Montreal. They originally weren't named after NHL hockey players. A lot of my childhood was spent in Doug Harvey Arena and I loved it. My son did the same but you can't mention Doug Harvey Arena without mentioning Margaret Lampton. The queen of NDG hockey.

Old rink needs some renovations. It’s in dire need of somewhere to park. And the ice is pretty poor

Pros:
Really clean dressing rooms.
Great ice.
Nostalgic and will kept arena.
Cons:
Parking on the street.
The glass around the arena is a little low.

Recently refurbished with new refrigeration unit for the ice surface. New and impressive ice sports mural over players benches. Friendly bilingual arena attendants (2018-19). Lots of room in the stands. No snack counter. Limited parking in a small lot in a residential area. Very close to 51 and 102 bus stops, close enough to bus stops for 103,104,138. Not that close to highway off ramps.

Can't compare to much else but it seemed ok. Went for a quick free ice skating session for our toddler. Even though it was free we still dropped 16$ into it for one adult and one child (3$ for adults +10$ skate rentals (5$ each) +3$ helmet +3$ learning bar). It was still a good first experience. The bleachers around the rink are slightly heated but it was still quite cold for onlookers. Though the lobby area was nice and warm for those just waiting around with picnic tables and a vending machine. There's a spacious disabled/family bathroom as well that was pretty clean. The parking in the back always helps.

Had a big renovation in 2017-18 and staff are friendly.some free skating time during the week.

Great arena with well maintained ice conditions. Only negative is their newly done showers which are very slippery and dangerous. Other than that great staff and great ice.
