Au 14

You can’t go wrong at Au 14. It’s casual, friendly and the quality of the food for the price cannot be beat! Obviously the pho is the way to go! But give me a bowl of vermicelli and grilled pork any day! And get the spring rolls, regular or vegetarian are great. They don’t fall apart! And that being said, it’s the perfect spot for groups and lots of vegetarian options.

Bon dumplings avec une sauce à l’arachide, rouleaux impériaux savoureux, repas de riz ba mau (3 couleurs) exquis et particulièrement la petite galette d’omelette ainsi que le banh cuon sont tellement bons à s’en lècher les doigts.

The food is very tasty and offered at quite a competitive cost. Service was quite diligent but perhaps somewhat to "pushy". The decoration could certainly benefit from an update.

HIDDEN GEM! I honestly don’t know how this place doesn’t have a line up down the block. There are varies of specialties Vietnamese dishes they make that not a lot of restaurants do! It absolutely brings me back travelling north of Vietnam.
The rice wrap pork and the mini pancake cups with shrimp and pork are to do die for.
I will be back for sure when I come back to Montreal.

Food here literally brought me back to the north of Vietnam. The family here have recreated something I haven’t been able to find in Vancouver where I live.

Depuis plus de 20 ans, nous allons dans ce petit restaurant vietnamien au coeur du Plateau, au coin du boulevard Saint-Laurent sur Prince-Arthur Ouest. Derrière sa vitrine rempli de feuillages, le temps s’est arrêté avec la même déco, mais les petits mains à la cuisine continuent à servir des repas succulents. C’est vraiment une bonne planque pour venir avec ses amis. Notre coup de foudre, le rouleau magique qui est un rouleau de printemps avec Nem à l’intérieur. Allez-y! L’accueil est vraiment agréable.

If you’re looking for authentic Pho this is not the place to go to. The soup broth wasn’t clear and was “dirty”, the authentic soup only offered two beefs one of which was an over cooked flank and dry, with beef balls that were also flavourless. There is no size options to the classic soups and did not come with bean sprouts on the side as most authentic places offer. A heaping amount of Thai basil was already in the soup as well that completely altered the taste of the broth and as a person who only liked a bit was disappointed that no choices were given.
