Good service although they gave me the worst place at the bar, the canned duck is very heavy and the skin of the duck becomes difficult to chew.

What a DECADENT meal. Everything was extremely good and the service was fantastic.

I would definitely come back again, and I would load up on just the appetizers and foie gras. The mains were great, but not as delicious in my view.

Particular stand-outs:
Oyster: Never would have thought an egg yolk with an oyster would pair so perfectly!
Temaki: Soft textures, robust yet delicate flavors
Foie Gras Nigiri: Very unique combination, creamy, salty, and sweet all in one bite.
Foie Gras Parfait: The foie gras mousse is unbelievably rich. You'll need extra baguette to spread onto unless you're a glutton for punishment.
Salt and maple sugar fries: Never knew I wanted sweet with my pomme frites!

Delicious! Highly recommended for foie gras fans. The staff are extremely nice. Service was fast, not like mentioned in the comments
Tip: Ask for the special menu and black knives if you are having duck in can (their specialties)!

Foie with Lions mane mushroom on bread with saute onions. Everything drenched in butter, mushrooms completely tough under the knife. So unsophisticated of a dish since the foie was all the fat this dish requires to be sublime. All the way from Maui to eat a ho hum piece of foie, nothing else on the plate edible. To the server's credit, it was removed from the bill. Pork chop was excellent per my companions comments. This is a pass.

Duck in a can wasn’t cooked.
I was really looking forward to it.
They couldn’t even find a knife that cut the duck breast.
The fois gras was a gross stringy mess.
Pretty much ruined the whole dinner experience.
Then the staff really blew it by EXPLAINING to me it was cooked sous vide.
Great, thats why I want it. But cook it please. And don’t patronize me.
Jesus, just give me your best please, and you didn’t cut it tonight.

They offered to comp me and give me something else but my partner was halfway thru her meal by that time and we really didn’t appreciate the scene. It really sucks for everyone when the kitchen blows it so bad. Thinking back on it I should have asked for a new can that was cooked!

Definitely a must try at least once in your life spot. Make sure to keep the rest of your night open, you will need to lie down after all that duck fat decadence

Disappointed with the food. We got the oysters (great appetizer), Foie Gras Poutine (pretty good but slightly overpriced), and finally the duck in the can.
Duck in the can is overly overhyped, unflavoured and overpriced. For $60 I was expecting something exceptional. We got a nice show and hard duck breast. The cabbage was not that good and the meat was hard and unsalted.
Maybe different strokes different folks but my 2nd time at Au Pied was a big disappointment.

Absolutely phenomenal.

I give it a 4.9/5 stars. Only deducting 0.1 stars because it was a little loud for my taste.

Otherwise the food was outstanding (coming from a foodie and her foodie husband), the atmosphere was a bit loud but pleasant, the servers were attentive and knew the menu very well, and their house made gin and cider were top notch (especially the cider if you like it dry).

We ordered the citrus and scallops, grilled halibut, foie gras poutine, creme brûlée and pudding chômeur, and we could find fault with anything. This with four drinks brought our total to roughly $250 and it was worth every penny.

Highly recommend!

The duck temaki handrolls are a must-try for sure. The scallops are refreshing and the stuffed pig's foot was incredibly rich and hearty.

Ordered 3 dishes the first 2 came out together in about 10 to 15 minutes, but the 3rd dish, duck in a can took over an hour after we finished our 1st 2 dishes. When we asked why it was taking so long we were told it would be out in a minute. 20 minutes later it arrived and we were completely ignored by the staff as we waited. When I asked what happened no one was apologetic or had any honest answer for us. The table next to us ordered duck in a can and they received theirs in 15 minutes. At the end we were given a complimentary glass of wine but by then we just wanted to leave. Really someone should have been honest with us instead of ignoring us and offered the wine while we were patiently waiting instead of at the end. Very poor service by whomever was in charge at the time

The food here is amazing, the service is excellent, the drinks were delicious, and the staff are just a delight. Emille was great and really elevated our dining experience to the next level. We will definitely be coming back when we come to Montreal again.

I will be honest. We were super excited about Au Pied de Cochon. We were on a quick Bourdain tour of Montreal.

Unfortunately, Martin Picards Au Pied de Cochon was a disappointment. The Pigs Feet were burnt beyond recognition. Lobster Mapo Tofu Udon Noodles, were a Gluggy Mish Mash. Scallop appetizer was good. The Creme Brule, after a 45 minute wait never even came. Perhaps the saving grace of this meal was getting the receipt quickly after canceling our long awaited, never received dessert. The service was absent, not a large restaurant so it didn't make sense. Hopefully there will be a breath of fresh air in this dusty location, or it will perish. -We just ask that they give themselves the same respect as they gave the poor pigs feet.cremation.

Had a fantastic evening with a friend for a special occasion. The service was above and beyond. All of the recommendations were fabulous. We had the foie gras Nigiri, salad and aged pork chop with sea snails. Paired with the perfect wines and the bartender’s mixology expertise made the evening memorable. Soo fun!

If you're into duck, this is the place for you. They also had an impressive prix-fix seafood platter with all kinds of luxury items. Canned duck was tender and flavorful, presentation is part of the excitement. Drinks were excellent, staff pleasant and friendly. We had a wonderful night out!

We had a special birthday occasion to celebrate. The ingenious chef Michael really went above and beyond in preparing & serving some established and new dishes to the five of us. The two waiters were top-notch in their attentiveness.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the extended meal, helped by some
great beverages. The finale was a fantastic flaky pastry cake, decorated with a sparkler for the birthday lady.

I last visited five or six years ago. I will hopefully dine here again!

A bit underwhelming with all the hype surrounding this restaurant. I was really excited to make a reservation here for my trip to Montreal. It was a top priority to come here but I found the dishes/ experience wasn't what I expected. All the dishes were fine, I just expected more from the whole experience.
The foie gras poutine that we were told would be the best poutine we have just fell short; It didn't feel very special.

The one shinning item was the duck tartar dish served with the quail egg it was the best thing we ordered.

Pour une première fois à ce resto d'excellence je vous le recommande entrée tartare fois gras arachides et riz côté de bison et jarret de porc dans le cruchon superbe et prenez un mcx de fois gras poêlé avec le bison un vrai délice assis au bar vue sur la cuisine et c'est excellent cuisine et dirigé par une chef d'orchestre mon dieu de la musique en bouche et sans oublier Michael chef proprio et le personnel de service exceptionnel alord oublier pas de réserver et vous allez passer une soirée splendide.
