Au Premier Coiffure Spa

Ça fait 15 ans que je me fait coiffer, manucures, laser, etc, Au Premier et aujourd'hui pour une coupe, problème avec leur système de réservation donc on me dit de retourner chez moi dès mon arrivée (le rendez-vous avait pourtant été confirmé). On essaie même pas de trouver une solution sur place, on me dit simplement de recéduler. On m'appelle plus tard en soirée pour m'expliquer la situation et s'excuser et on m'offre un minable 10% sur mon prochain rendez-vous, c'est rire du monde! Non merci mais je vais aller ailleurs. Personnel de la réception très hautain.

I always have an amazing time at Au Premier for my hair cuts. Lily has been cutting my hair for the last 6+ years and it’s always a great experience and a great outcome. She is attentive, detail oriented and incredibly efficient as always being interest in expanding her professional knowledge. Sitting in her chair is always pleasant and lively. Whether we transition to straight edges or layers, side fringe or piecey fronts it’s always an experience of trust and care. I walk away feeling like a million bucks every time. Top marks all around?

Very inconsistent, generally good results but occasionally terrible. Had a couple of haircuts (they were ok) but last time it was way shorter then I asked for (asked for shoulder length and got just under my ears, only thing he could say is that it would grow back!). Colour usually ok, then I let colorist talk me into doing highlights and hair was once too light with yellow/orange tones and then, when I said it was too light, next time she made it darker it but was eggplant colour, truly horrible. She said it was my hair’s fault! Hilarious

Got a haircut from Sharon, have to say she was very patient and considerate of what kind of hair style I was looking for and made tweaks according to my liking. Would definitely recommend her:). Also not to forget (didn't catch the name of the person (tall) who washed my hair) - she was really gentle and gave an amazing massage as well!

I have been coming here for 10 years. It is the best of the best. Back then ir was once a little secret but now everyone knows, which makes booking harder but I’m glad for the staff, they deserve it. Iva is the best!

However, I needed a hair cut and figure this is one of the best salon in montreal and it cannot go wrong. NOPE! I paid $50 for a junior haircutter. It was a disaster. She’s a sweetheart and even styled my hair after but the haircut is not great.

I told her multiple times that the left side is shorter than the right and she could not see it. She spent another hour and could not get it right. I gave up and I had to come back home and ask my husband to cut it together to make it more even. We’re not a hairdresser but it looks better. Would never go here again for a hair cut. What a waste of money!

Au Premier gives a great experience when you have an appointment. Everyone is professional and pleasant. Jocelyn is an amazing colourist and Lili is amazing at cutting my hair. They make an awesome dream team for my hair and i get compliments all the time. Even if i didn’t get my hair done in months i’ll still get compliments. Perfection

Personnel à l’affût de nos besoins (soins capillaires, breuvages, retouche de maquillage à la sortie et prise de rendez-vous). Un salon propre, chaleureux et bien tenu, très fréquenté. Réservez tôt car les rendez-vous de dernière minute sont difficiles à obtenir.

Ma première fois à ce salon et j’ai adoré. J’ai fait une coloration avec Isa-Ève et elle est incroyable! Elle a pris son temps pour me conseiller, m’informer et on a discuter ensemble du meilleur scénario pour mes cheveux en transition vers un poivre et sel naturel. Très satisfaite de mon expérience à ce salon et je recommande fortement Isa-Ève pour la coloration.

I have been coming for years to Au Premier for my different colorations and Ben is my colorist. He is the best! He is naturally talented at what he does and is gentle. Always greets you with a kind attitude and is just sooo sweet:) I am never disappointed and very often get compliments on my golden blonde hair.
In addition, it has gotten much longer and healthier since he uses Aveeda color on my hair. All the team at Au Premier have always been curtious and polite, even very accommodating. I have been to other salons and I can tell you that here you will receive honest caring old fashioned valued service.

Everytime I leave this place my self esteem takes a nose dive. As a business that deals in beauty, they somehow they manage to make me feel ugly. Bad haircut after bad haircut which can never be fixed because so much length gets taken off. There's nothing like some ugly hair to make you feel absolutely disgusting.

My friend recommended this salon to me and I came and was scheduled with Sylvana I believe, one of the owners. I have short hair and I asked her to do a modern haircut, but not too short. She has no idea what it means- modern and how to work with short hair to make it look good. I am very disappointed. 95$ for haircut only and I had to go on vacation with disaster on my head.

Been 3 weeks and it still feels like I got a haircut just yesterday.
I have long curly hair enclosing a small face, so hair cuts and styles have been a struggle. But Connie understood me so well. She gave me the right kind of layers that would look good in any hair do. She did a wonderful job on whole service and also gave me some good tips on how to maintain my hair on day 2 and 3 post wash for the best look.

I had a very good experience out there. People are professional and competent, they use quality products and the overall ambience is classy. This is exactly the place I was looking for so I highly recommend if someone is looking for a good salon.

They fixed my hair after a previous hairstylist had really messed it up, and did an amazing job! Make sure to see the senior hair colourists, as they really know what they're doing! - Ben did an amazing job. Sweet and understanding staff and managers as well:)

Vraiment déçue de ma coupe de cheveux, je me coupe mieux les cheveux moi même. 80$ en plus! J’ai dû finaliser celle de ma fille qui faisait rafraîchir son toupette.c’était tout croche! Dire que j’allais là à son âge y’a de ça plus de 30 ans lorsqu’ils étaient plus loin sur monkland. Ça a bien changé depuis.

Le facial par Johanne vaut le prix par contre. Pour les coupes de cheveux, évitez!

Joli salon - mais ils ne savent pas couper les cheveux! J'y suis allée quelques fois (mon salon préféré est loin de chez moi, mais Au Premier est dans mon quartier), et à chaque fois je l'ai amèrement regretté, coupes mal structurées et qui sont encore plus moches à la repousse. On ne m'y reprendra plus.

Je vais chez Au premier spécifiquement pour Sherrie qui est est une des seules au Québec formé pour faire la « deva cut » (la coupe pour les cheveux frisés)! Elle a beaucoup d’expérience et donc elle sait où/combien couper pour qu’une fois les cheveux séchés ça soit la longueur souhaitée! Elle me donne également à chaque fois des conseils concernant le « coiffage » de mes cheveux au quotidien! Je recommande ses services, elle vaut le détour

I got a haircut a while from one of their employees named Sherrie. She didn't have an once of professionalism when addressing me. She was looking at me up and down and would gossip with other customers about me. I wanted to run out of the salon as I was sensing other hairdressers heavy eyes on me. I was inexperienced about hair and all and she took that to her advantage. Looking back I regret not standing up for myself so so much as I was intimidated by such a rude and shameless person.

I LOVE my haircuts from Sherrie. I’ve been twice now and each one she takes the time and the care to listen to my fears and questions. She makes me feel safe, beautiful, confident and understood in her chair! Not only does she offer great advice and references while I’m there but sometimes I contact her via Instagram and she always manages to settle my concerns and educated me so much on how to maintain my curls. Her prices are amazing and you get all this love and attention and information as well! If you ever wanted to understand your hair she is the best person to ask for. She will shine a light on your existing beauty and make you feel like the queen you are!

I had such a good experience with Sherrie! She finally helped me embrace my natural curly hair, and gave me some really practical tips for maintaining it! She took her time and explained things so well and I felt like I was in great hands!

I really recommend booking an appointment with the co-owner, Sylvana, if you’re planning on having a cut! She’s very kind and did exactly what I wanted, took her time and was very welcoming because I was a bit nervous!

My favourite spot for haircut! The lady that I always go to, gives me exactly what I want! But I do agree that it is a very pricey spot!

Beautiful, clean salon / spa with very helpful and professional staff. This was my first ‘curly cut’ with Sherrie, and I’m in love with the result! I have fought nature and straightened my hair for nearly 40 years, but now I’m learning to love my natural curls, and Sherrie has played a big part in this change! She is super knowledgeable and taught me so much about proper care for curly hair / scalp during my visit. Je suis allé en 2019 et j'ai beaucoup aimé mon expérience car c'est grand, propre et on fait un massage à l'huile essentielle avant le lavage des cheveux. Le prix était élevé mais acceptable pour la qualité du salon et des services. Toutefois, j'ai appelé en août 2020 pour un rendez vous et les prix ont monté en flèche et les prix étaient vraiment differents de ceux affiches en ligne. Pour une simple coupe des cheveux on me chargeait 70$ alors qu'en ligne c'est écrit 45$. C'est très décevant.

After many months of no haircut since covid, I finally braced myself today and went. I was met by an extremely courteous and professional staff from beginning to end.
I booked with a ‘junior’ stylist, Victoria, and she was fabulous. She really took the time to discuss options, and then spent much time and care making sure the mess my hair had become was restored! She was so meticulous and really took the time with small details. It wasn’t an easy cut since there was a lot of ‘fixing’ and she really went above and beyond.

Endroit propre et personnel sympathique et compétant. Travail toujours attentionné et bien fait, je ne vais plus ailleurs!

They even called to inform on the new fees (Post-Covid19). Not a joyful info yet it’s fair enough to make us know before having hairs done.

I went there 3 years ago and had an appointment with jessica, I asked for layers and she did a really bad job, she was a junior at the time. I stopped going there and switched salons but with covid i decided to go back since my other salon wasnt open yet but this time i asked for a senior, i get there only to find out they had booked me with her again since she was a senior now.shes a very sweet girl so i couldnt tell her i didnt like the haircut she did and i just gave her a second chance since i was already there, she did a better job but still not what i wanted at all, she cut way too much off and didnt even give me layers, for the price im paying i expect them to have the best hairdressers. She's very sweet as a person but she isn't the best hairdresser

Worst pedicure experience ever. I had a pedicure last Sunday, I was treated really badly. The girl was rude and not friendly at all. I will never return. This is not the way you treat customers!

I've been a client of Au Premier's & stylist Glen for around 5 yrs. I will not go anywhere else. Glen is the best stylist I've ever had. I've had a couple different ladies colour my hair, every one of them top notch. I have always been so happy with my results.

Hairstylists and hair assistants varies a lot, and front desk clerks aren't very pleasant. Every single time my wife and I enter or stand in front of them, none makes eye contacts and/or welcome us, so we always awkwardly stand there for awhile before one of them acknowledge us. Please, train them to be more welcoming, attentive and personable.

I was there for highlights she didn't pay attention to what I wanted. Even though I paid a lot, I'm not happy with the result.

J'ai les cheveux ondulés/frisés et j'ai voulu essayer la ''coupe frisée'' pour la première fois. Je voulais bien évidemment une coupe mais aussi (et surtout) des conseils sur les différentes techniques/produits à utiliser pour mon type de cheveux afin de pouvoir mieux prendre soin de mes boucles.
Le personnel était accueillant et super professionnel mais le résultat final laissait vraiment à désirer. Je n'ai jamais eu aussi peu de boucles qu'en sortant de mon rendez-vous et j'étais hyper déçue. Je voulais me laver les cheveux quelques fois avec ma routine pour voir le vrai résultat de la coupe avec ma routine et c'est correct mais sans plus. Les résultats sont très similaires à ceux que j'obtiens habituellement avec une coupe ordinaire mais le tout m'a coûté 130$. J'ai une photo avant/après mais elle semble impossible à publier!

It would be appreciated if you could call your customers if you are going to cancel appointments! I don’t appreciate wasting my time.

Extremely unimpressed, worst pedicure experience ever.
Visited from Toronto. Went to Au Premier Spa for deluxe pedicure with sister, on promo for $72.
I was taken in separately, when sister tried to join me was told to leave the room! Was brought in to join me 5-10 minutes later - estheticians had not been advised we were together.
Pedicure was okay and my esthetician’ Kavita was very nice.
Sister was finished 15 minutes before me and was told she had to leave the room.
When done, I joined her in reception and had to ask for fan to dry toenails.
After 30-40 minutes, we had to ask for nails to be checked. Different esthetician than either of us had checked nails and said fine - I said mine still felt sticky, but she said they would be fine and covered with vaseline and plastic wrap. Got home and big chunks of polish gone and nails a wreck.
Called spa and told by receptionist that no room to have me come back, but that I would receive full reimbursement. Asked for Manager. Got supervisor Etty and was offered appointment at 4: 00 which I could not do, then at 2: 30 - all too late as plans already made for final day in Montreal.
Then told would not be given full reimbursement, as pedicure was fine - just getting a credit for $24 for polish replacement. No apologies, no offers of something to make it all up, no ability for me to come in then for me to have the wrecked polish taken off - just $24. Told them to put it on my sister’s account.
Extremely unimpressed, their response was completely unprofessional and lacking in any remote form of customer service, worst pedicure experience ever.

Sherrie is an absolute goddess when it comes to curly cuts! I have been natural my entire life, and have tried several different hair salons and shapes, but I have never had a curly cut as detailed & exactly what I wanted as the cut Sherrie gave me! She is more than amazing at what she does, but also so passionate about it! She is trained in nearly every curly cut out & is constantly perfecting her craft by attending the latest workshops & trainings all over North America. I have afro curly, very thick hair & was skeptical that this wouldn’t be the best shop for me because when first walking in, I saw 0 clients that looked like me (black woman with Afro curly hair) but I’m so happy I took a chance! Sherrie knows what she’s doing. If you want a shape that will make your natural thrive and have character, let Sherrie give you a curly cut!

Best salon. They give you a head massage and a makeup touch up with your haircut. You leave feeling like a star!

My friend and I went here for the first time not knowing what to expect, it was an experience from the beginning until the end! Everything on time, the staff is sweet and friendly. From the head massage to our haircut and makeup touch up. We felt pampered all along and were so excited about our hair after our appointments. Will definitely come back!

So disappointed with this place. I had high expectations because of great and amazing reviews but they do not treat people with kindness. I expected to have an appointment booked for next week and because apparently I was on a waiting list, they didn’t even booked me! When I called to understand why, they were rude and impolite.

I had an appointment last winter with a hairdresser who specializes in curly cuts (dry cuts). I was excited about such a find, so I called to book an appointment.a month away. Fine, I scheduled the appointment, and patiently waited a month for the date to roll around. They called me a few days before to confirm the appointment. The day of the appointment rolled around, I get there, they bring me to the hairdresser who takes one look at my hair and asks"why is your hair in a ponytail with product"? Apparently, to get the dry cut, you're supposed to wash your hair two days prior, not put any styling products in and leave your hair down. All information that the salon had failed to share with me at the time of booking my appointment or when they called to confirm. I told the hairdresser as much, and asked if she could wash my hair quickly and dry it before giving me the dry cut. "No", she replied, "there's no time and I have other clients". But they still washed my hair before cutting my hair.drying my hair with just a blowdryer would've taken an additional 10 minutes at the very most.

I asked for a cut to get rid of all the dead ends as it had been several months since I cut my hair. She must've cut at the very most half an inch. The salon then tried to charge me the full price for the dry cut, which is about $15 to $20 more than a regular cut. That's when I put my foot down and said no, as they hadn't delivered on what they had promised. The hairdresser in question and the employees of the salon didn't really seem to care about providing the basic level of service to the clients. As a comparison, a month later I went to Florida where I accompanied my cousin to a curly hair salon for a deep treatment.upon seeing my hair, the hairdresser said "you really need a good haircut. Is it ok if I go ahead and cut your hair"? Even though i wasn't scheduled for a cut. She cut off all the split ends I had, which was a LOT, not normal considering my "haircut" at Au Premier had been just 4 weeks prior. That's the difference between good customer service and just keeping up appearances.

The only reason I didn't give the salon + experience 1 star is because of the complimentary express makeover they give you before you leave. WOW, the makeup artist was not only a sweetheart but gave me such a wonderful yet understated makeover. I left the salon feeling like a million bucks only because of the makeup, and not my hair, unfortunately. Live and learn, I guess.

J'aime beaucoup le côté spa. Les gens sont super gentils. Mais la partie salon de coiffure j'ai aimé moins. Les gens sont super indifférents aux clients et les deux fois que je m'y suis faite couper les cheveux, j'ai eu des coupes très ordinaires.

I have been coming to au premier for years. During the last year there has been many changes in receptionists. Ever since then my appointments have always been getting mixed up or when they call to confirm they have been telling me the incorrect times. I show up always half an hour or an hour early and then I tell them that when I received the confirmation they told me the incorrect time. The continue to go on about how its my fault. Secondly, I got a manicure a few days ago. It is now 5 days later and my nails are all chipped when my manicure always used to last me at least 7 days. On top of this I needed to come back the day after my manicure because the aesthetician make my polish extremely thick to the point where my nails couldn't even dry. The prices on the website are incorrectly listed as well.
