Auberge Chez Jean

Voici un lieu unique de par son atmosphère chaleureuse et dans sa magie à faire se rencontrer les gens.
Merci à toutes les personnes de longs séjours ou de courts passages qui animent cette auberge et pour l'éxperience qu'ils m'ont permis d'y vivre.
Chez Jean, mythe ou réalité? Pour ma part la réponse est claire!

Chez Jean, is a hostel.
There is no special service. Breakfast. But you do it in the kitchen.
It is not a place for the squeamish, it is not entirely clean, neither the rooms nor the bathrooms. It's not that it's dirty either, but it is tacky. The bedding yes.
But it is a special place. There are people from all over. You are talking with some, with others. It's really very SPANISH AUBERGE. Very hippy, backpacker.

Homely hostel right in the centre of everything. Hosted by friendly people who make you part of the family. Don't come expecting luxury, the price cannot be beaten

What a place! Wonderfull, many friendly people is sooo nice! You can speak english spanish deutsch french portuges and quebecois in a same day!

I met my wife here 20 years ago - this place is mythical
We came back 20 yes later and it is the same ol’ hostel vibe, cool people from around the world hanging out, everyone is easy going etc.
Jean was still around and it was so great to see him again, he is 84 and still running the show and he also gave me one of his T-shirt to celebrate this anniversary - what a legend

The backpacker vibe that you hear about in novels is still alive in this place

Un séjour très agréable. Ma première expérience dans une auberge et je ne pense pas qu'elle sera renouvelable dans une autre auberge. Merci à toute l'équipe pour leur gentillesse et leur disponibilité.

L'Auberge chez Jean est un lieu à part, avec une ambiance inégalable. On se sent tout de suite à la maison, on est très bien accueillis, et la convivialité qui se dégage de cet endroit est particulièrement marquante. De loin la meilleure auberge de Montréal, l'endroit idéal pour de belles rencontres, et de belles soirées Jam!

The check in was too late. Nobody for welcome me. I had to wait outside for my room to be ready. The hostel is not clean. At last, they not let me in because I was black. I also been call by the N. World. I don't recommend this place.

I quite liked my experience and it is centrally located. Kudos to Coto and Baptiste (I hope I got the names correct) ; though there are certain areas of improvement for example ventilation/air conditioning in the rooms and a bit of tidying up.

On a side note: Do learn French because all the travellers speak french at this hostel (98%), I struggled quite hard to know people.

I was in an emergency due to a last minute cancelation. Koto was very friendly and helped me find a room even though they were full. The hostel is very clean and people are friendly. Many French tourists. The place is really cool and has many chill out spots. I'd stay here again and live here if I could!

Allez chez Jean est vraiment une expérience particulière. L'ambiance est plus celle d'une copropriété. L'auberge est très bien placée dans le quartier du Plateau.

Dégueulasse, propreté 0, lits sales, gens malpropres, a ne pas essayer, même prix que les hôtels vieux ports lol ne vous fiez pas a Alexandra et ces copains qui s occupé de la place. J'ai du payer et quitter même nuit

Je vous conseille cette auberge très bien située sur le Plateau avec un prix attractif et un créateur (Jean) mythique!
Une ambiance chaleureuse, un personnel amical qui vous propose tjrs des activités! Et puis…Essayez un quiz de Clem c’est l’adopté!
