Auberge Le Pomerol

CAUTION: DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL under ANY circumstances. I made a reservation at Auberge le Pomerol last weekend. We then payed for the room for two nights and went inside, only to see that there was NO shower and the room was tiny and dirty. When I immediately returned to the desk to ask for a refund, the receptionist MOHAMED promised me that the worker coming in the next morning would process the refund. We then stayed at another hotel for the two nights. The next day, same story - the receptionist NADIA told us to call back Monday to process the refund. We then received an email starting that we would NOT be getting a refund, even though we were promised one by multiple workers. They are also REFUSING to let us speak to the manager or anyone higher up. My next step is to get my lawyer involved in this process. Save yourself the money and headache.

UNSAFE. There is strong odor of gas in the hotel's front stairwell. I reported this to the Front Desk staff and they refused to contact the authorities to investigate. I asked multiple times. I did not feel safe in this building. I checked out immediately and had to find another hotel. Staff first claimed the smell was present off-and-on for years, and claimed they did not smell it. Three of us all smelled the strong gas smell, however. My friends also staying in this hotel checked out. Auberge Le Pomerol refused to refund me. Only AFTER we all checked out and booked other hotels did they decide to contact the utility company to check for a gas leak. I don’t know what resulted with that, but their refusal to check for a gas leak after multiple guests reported the smell of gas in a stairwell is shockingly negligent. Avoid.

Small but clean rooms, no shower and only a bath though.

L'endroit est propre, service impeccable, chambres disponibles et prix abordables.

Pas de parking avec l'hôtel, mais quelques un à proximité, donc c'était bien

Emplacement (En avant de la construction donc moins fun, mais bien quand même) près de parc, pharmacie et restaurants.

Auberge is my favourite hotel in Montreal. I come to Montreal for Osheaga each year and try to stay here if they have vacancies. Too bad they got rid of their breakfast because of the pandemic, it was a nice touch.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms need some updating for comfort. I wish they had new pillows and mattresses. They were thin hard and uncomfortable.
That said the neighborhood is great and you're close to a lot.

Avoid. Was in a basement “dungeon” room with absolutely no air. I wouldn’t keep animals in there. Whole place is creepy.

Do not trust your booking if going through expedia.

I booked this for a weekend, and was charged in full. I called about a question about the hotel, and they told me they didnt have my reservation on file. I have confirmed receipts.

Upon investigation, they stated they cancelled my booking but because its expedia, they had no way of contacting me.

This hotel clearly does not update weekends that they think they can make more money. I would stay away from it on summer weekends. Had I not had a question for front desk, I would have shown up in Montreal without a place to stay.

Disaster stay! Bothered by mosquitoes in the room - also found this bug.
Superior room is in the basement of the hotel! Unfortunately this was a relocation hotel given to us by booking.com.
Staff is good but the property is run down and should be called a motel instead!

Don't be fooled by the look of the neighborhood, this little hotel is very well maintained and offer a great stay close to the bus station and Montreal downtown. Room was perfectly clean, bed and wifi just fine. No more breakfast unfortunately. Pricing is correct, overall a very good experience.

On nous avait dit qu'on aurait un bain tourbillon double et à ma grandeur que je suis; je ne rentrait pas dedans. Dans le lit, il y avait des cheveux. Signifiant que le lit m'a pas été nettoyer. Très décevant comme expérience.

Literie désuète, évier craquelé, vieux meubles, télévision tout croche, service à la réception très bien.

Hotel très bien situé, personnel très accueillant avec de bons conseils.
Les chambres sont confortables et très propres.
Nous reviendrons très certainement.

We stayed here while on a Route Verte bicycling tour. Easily accessible by bike from the Jacques Cartier bridge. They provided us with bike storage in a locked garage area. Clean room and friendly staff. Metro station right across the street and old Montreal is a 10 minute walk.

Super accueil, le staff était très attentionné et à l'écoute de nos besoins. Les chambres étaient très confortable et bien arrangées. Je vais définitivement revenir pour goûter le fameux déjeuner et tester les bains tourbillon après le covid!

Cela fait 1 an que je tente de vous rejoindre pour avoir mon remboursement suite au covid.
On m'a répondu une fois en me disant que je recevrais mon remboursement mais bizarrement une fois le RIB envoyé, plus rien.
Aucun sérieux.

This is nothing like those stereotypical hotels with the carpets and the double beds. Everyone knows what I am talking about. This is better, in the big city this hotel feels extremely cottage core, the floor was freshly cleaned when we arrived and the cutest bed. The bathtub was hard to figure out how to use but they have a manual, the view was not great but everything was so adorable.

We visited the day before our stay chose a room, reserved it when we arrived the following nite we were told by the old man that works nites that they were sold out. We found out the next day he just didn't feel like checking us in. One of the reasons we chose this place was the breakfast witch they no longer serve because of covid-19 I think it's cheap of them. We stayed 3 weeks. We cleaned our own room, were never offered clean towels, or sheets. Far from service oriented! But the room was very nice. And most of the staff were friendly

Horrible séjour.
Le check-in avec le gars de la réception était parfait.
Le 200$ de dépôt demandé pour les chambres est vraiment exagéré vu l’endroit.
Les photos de reflètes aucunement la place. Toilette bouchée et graines dans le lit dés l’arrivée.
En revenant de déjeuner, nous avons dû attendre plus de 25 minutes pour pénétrer dans l’hôtel car aucuns personnels à la réception. Avec une femme enceinte l’attente à vraiment été difficile.
Nous avions encore une nuit de réservée, mais nous sommes partie à l’hôtel Universel.

I had a scheduled trip to Canada and I was going to stay in several hotels and this was going to be one of them. With the situation of the Covid-19 they closed the border between Canada and the USA. All the hotels and Airlines I had separated understood the situation and returned my money except this hotel. Due to the little empathy of the hotel and the staff, I understand that this hotel should not be sponsored by anyone.

I stayed here back in 2017 and could not recommend a better boutique hotel! Breakfast basket delivered right to your door in the morning!

Really clean place, quiet hotel and the basket at your door's room for the breakfast is really unique and nice.

We originally booked a hotel around the corner and it was a nightmare we stay here our last night as a last min booking to get away from the previous hotel. This place was amazing for the price. The beds were comfortable enough to sleep on, the amenities in the room were good. Only problem we had was with our room the TV didn't work it had sound but no picture but unplugging and plugging the tv back in fixed this. The reason for 4 stars not 5, on the 3rd floor there's no sign or yellow tape on the ground to indicate a change in elevation down the hall and I ended up twisting my ankle and sprained my foot but honestly this hotel was such a god send I didn't care to complain. Also we loved the cute little breakfast basket outside our door.

Very authentic, nice, peaceful, make sure you have their crossint for breakfast, it is one of a kind

Room was substantially smaller than appeared on the website and amenities were few. But otherwise pretty much lived up to expectations.

Il fait bon de séjourner à l'auberge Le Pomerol. L'endroit est situé à quelques pas du métro Berri ce qui a grandement facilité les déplacements. Leurs petits paniers-déjeuners accrochés aux portes le matin sont une succulente idée. Nous avons moi et ma femme passé la nuit du 30 au 31 et nous avons que du positif à dire sur leur personnel dévoué.

Have never stayed in the hotel but have been to the restaurant in the basement level a few times. In the past the food was very good, especially the deserts. Several years ago the chef in the restaurant changed and it hasn't been the same since then. Not bad, but no longer what made me want to eat here.

Me suis retrouvé dans un sous-sol sans fenêtre donc et peu accueillant.
Déception au rendez-vous

Un accueil très chaleureux, situé à proximité du métro, un personnel très sympathique ainsi qu'un réceptionniste Maxime super sympa et de bon conseil. Un lieu que je recommande fortement.

One if tge best hotels, infront of metro and food shop, warm in winter nice bath and unlimited cofee with cookies

I visit Montreal frequently and this is my favorite place to stay! Directly across the street the Berri-UQAM metro station and one block over from the gay district, you won't run out of places to visit nearby. Rooms are very clean and free breakfast is included. The fact that breakfast is dropped off at your door is a nice touch! Highly recommend this boutique hotel!

Some staff had trouble understanding and speaking in English and there was a fake plant in the bathroom over the hot tub.lame! Place needs work if it is to be rated any higher, but it is close to everything and room was cozy and the bed was good enough for a nights sleep, but still prefer my own bed.

Clean, with very attentive staff. All rooms include a daily breakfast panier (basket) for 2 that is hung outside the door, with a complimentary petit-dejeneur (breakfast) of seasonal fruit, butter, jam and yoghurt. The en-suite bathroom is small but functional, and the decor is warm. The location is very centric - a block from the University of Quebec at Montreal - and the price is reasonable.
