Hands down one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in all aspects and one that I will never forget! It felt more like visiting the home of a friend, I felt that comfortable. And the food was incredible. It felt like a lot of love was put into each course

Nous avons visité ce petit restaurant en visite à Montréal et ce fut un coup de coeur! La propriétaire était d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle, on se sentait accueillies comme chez elle, et la nourriture était exceptionnelle! Si nous habitions à côté, nous deviendrions rapidement des habituées de ce petit bijou. Merci beaucoup de nous avoir reçues!

I and two friends had a perfectly lovely evening at Barcola a few weeks' back. The music was great, the service was warm and efficient, the food was yummy and just the right sized portions. Wine list is varied and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return many times in the future!

Amazing little restaurant, very happy to have discovered this place! They have a set tasting menu so you have to be ready to eat whatever is put in front of you, and for some picky like me it’s far out of my comfort zone but I absolutely loved every dish! The entree was a tomato, fig and arugula salad with focaccia and for someone who doesn’t eat tomatoes, it was really good, I did share some of my tomatoes with my partner ;), the second course was this delicious pasta in a type of sauce that I can’t remember but I could have licked the plate clean, and for the main meal chose the pork which was absolutely cooked to perfection! Will definitely be coming back to try again!

I loved the albums being a part of the decor. I enjoyed the Prix fixe meal and they catered to my dietary needs. Food was flavorful.

We were so excited to try this place and for that reason we went but our experience was not the best. The concept seems pretty interesting: a weekly tasting menu. The place is small, charming and cosy. The service definitely can improve, it seems that the owner is the waitress, she was nice, described to us the menu and the concept, but nothing special or impressive, we never had water refill or a coffee suggestion. We took two cocktails, good portion of alcohol and I can say, it was the best of our experience. Our menu was: Green salad with duck breast and red fruits, it was tasty and fruity, an interesting combination, I will never chose that plate but it was good. The second plate was rigatoni with three tomatoes sauce, for my taste the portion was pretty small, the sauce and the pasta were nothing surprising, it seems more average and bland. The third dish was pork chop with butter and rosemary, potatoes and mustard sauce, and it was zero impressive, the sauce was salty and liquid with a conventional piece of pork, however the potatoes were amazing, tasty and delicious. At the end we were still hungry and because of the small portions we order two desserts, to our surprise the portions were bigger that all the other dishes, the chocolate cake was good, to sweet for our taste, after four bites you don't want to eat more, and the worst was the panna cotta, I literally felt I was eating a jar of jam, sickeningly sweet! I had a horrible headache after eating all that sugar. We felt that the ingredients were not so fresh or high quality, it can be maybe for the price, but I have been in similar tasting menu (same price) and better quality. Not the best experience for a place with 4.6 rating, feeling disappointed by the whole experience and the worst thing is that we paid $210 for a meal and we went to bed hungry and with headache.

Incroyable restaurant tenus par des passionnés de cuisine et de musique où la cuisine est fabuleuse.
Le cadre est intimiste, calme et avec une superbe ambiance musicale choisie avec soin par les propriétaires qui d'ailleurs fournissent de très bonnes explications sur les groupes et chansons qu'ils diffusent.
Je recommande les yeux fermés!

Everything about this place is just immaculate! Been living in Mile End for two years and was surprised not to discover this place.

The menu changes frequently, really good quality and flavourful options, the place is so pretty and the vibe is so chill and cozy.

The owner is a really welcoming and warm person, enriching the experience even more, its places like this that make mile end, mile end!

Amazing dinner. Did not take pictures but will in the future. We began our meal with a delicious bean and potato arugula salad which melted in your mouth. This was followed by a very tasty pasta stuffed with eggs with tomato sauce and cheese. My companion had the grilled octopus and rapini bruschetta while I had the curried leg of lamb with buckwheat polenta and sautéed mushrooms. We coupled this meal with an Italian orange wine and ended with a chocolate mouse cake and panna cotta which we shared. All was amazing and the service is not rushed between courses. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit.

Nous avons eu le plaisir d’échanger quelques conversations avec Danielle et pu découvrir quelques unes des passions du couple qui font le succès de ce restaurant. Tout est fait avec amour et sincérité, les plats sont francs, efficaces et très bien exécutés par un vrai chef d’origine italienne, la musique vous est offerte par des audiophiles passionnés.
Un beau moment de vie, simple et bon, partagé au restaurant.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is wonderful. During the holidays they have this delicious hot chocolate, that's a must try.

WoW! An incredible first experience at Barcola! We had the Wednesday set menu and felt it was amazing value and quality. Each course was spectacular in its own way but the pasta at the end was to die for with the most delicious tomato sauce (I’ve never had tomato sauce so flavourful). They also accommodated my vegetarianism which I very much appreciated. We also ordered the chocolate cake at the end and could not have been happier with the taste and texture. Everything was freshly made on the spot and in record time.

Not to mention, the ambiance is worth going for on its own. The records played were well selected and created a real cozy and classic environment. The couple who run the restaurant were so kind. We had a lovely discussion with Danielle and felt we had a really personalized experience.

I definitely plan to return and would highly, highly recommend!

Funky retro inspired restaurant with classic Italian dishes, panna cotta was perfect as well as the warm salad, both worked to a charm, will definitely go back
