Terrible Service. Très très lent. 1h30 pour le repas. 30 min pour le café. Aucune service au table/aide.

Je crois qu’ils ont oublié le concept du chauffage. Nous sommes arrivés les premiers et ils nous ont installé devant la porte d’entrée. Tout le monde avait son manteau dans le restaurant.

We ordered matcha pancakes, it was good overall but the fruits were not fresh and had a weird taste to it, especially strawberries!

My friend ordered the chicken and waffles, she said it was good but on the heavier side.

Staff was a bit rude when we were first seated. I’m not sure if it is because it was a weekday.

Et 2 étoiles en moins pour me suggérer 18% de pourboire par défaut sur le terminal! Nous étions 3 et ne retournerons plus à cet endroit.

The waitresses and the girl behind the counter were very nice but the coffee was cold which I dislike, even though I asked for a very hot coffee, they couldn't complay, too bad.

Alors, je donne la note de 5 pour les plats c'était très bon, bien équilibré et le prix est convenable.

Par contre, côté service, je donne 3. Le service était correct mais froid. À l'arrivé, on attend pour avoir une place, personne nous calcule, même pas pour aviser que quelqu'un s'occupera de nous sous peu. On nous a pris notre commande, servi et débarassé. Jamais on nous a proposé plus d'eau, de ravoir la carte pour prendre autre chose, vérifier que tout vas bien ou même un simple sourire. Voilà, donc c'est pas catastrophique mais c'est leur point faible selon mon expérience.

Pour l'ambiance, encore là c'est correct mais sans plus. La musique est très forte, donc les gens doivent parler plus fort et comme c'est un espace assez ouvert ça devient très bruiyant.

This was simply the bestest brunch/breakfast EVER!
I had the chicken / waffle as recommended by the lovely waitress that took such great care of us that morning.
Also had the "pain doré coffee": O-M-G! It tasted like heaven in a cup.

J'ai beaucoup aimé. J'ai pris la gauffre farci au halloumi avec poulet délicieux! Je retournerai. Le service était correct.sauf, une des assiettes manquait un aliment et lors du service il ne l'on pas mentionné qui n'en restait plus. Bref cette assiette a quand mm été accommodé.

Staff is super friendly, food came quick and was delicious, mocha was on point. Their menu stands out and has options for every type of eater.

Came during peak hours (mistake). It was an hour long wait so opted to take out. Still ended up waiting 45 minutes for my food. It was 30$ after tax and tip for 3 pancakes and a tiny smoothy. Pancakes were dry and didn't come with maple syrup. Would not recommend.

Ne vous présentez pas sans réservation, ça ne sert à rien. Le serveur nous a dit 30 minutes d'attente mais après 1 heure nous attendions encore dehors. Nous sommes retournés le voir et il nous a promis 5 à 10 minutes. Nous avons attendu un total de 2 heures avant de partir. La moindre des choses serait de nous avertir à l'avance du réel temps d'attente, nous serions allé ailleurs et nous n'aurions pas perdu autant de temps. Aucune des personnes qui attendaient dehors avec nous n'est rentré non plus.

Good food and fun twist using the breakfast of Champs and childhood favourite - cereals! The breakfast sandwich (which was really a burger) was delicious! I got an extra fried chicken on the side, was expecting it to be crisper to be honest but I guess it got drenched in the sauce. You also definitely need a reservation here on weekends

Food was good, service took an eternity. Waited 41 minutes to get our food, and that’s without the 20 minutes it took for a waiter to acknowledge I’m a living human being. They also said we would get in after 45 minutes and that turned into an hour and a half. Severely understaffed.

Bit overpriced, staff was non chalant and difficult to have a moment with them but the food was pretty good

I’ve been four times and I’m never disappointed. I’m not a fan of matcha but their matcha pancakes are heavenly! Halloumi plate is amazing, their freshly squeezed orange juice as well, sweet potato waffles too. They have a lot of vegan and dairy free options for coffee which is nice!

C'était une excellent place pour déjeuner. La nourriture est Délicieuse! J'ai mangé les crêpes au matcha qui étaient super bonnes et moelleuses puis mon amie a pris la gauffre au poulet (wow)! C'était vraiment taste aha Sinon le décor intérieur est correct (spacieux mais pas hyper cozy), le service est bien et la machine devrait offrir l'option du 15% de pourboire au lieu de commencer a 20%~

J'ai été très bien accueilli par l'équipe du Barley. Ils ont été à l'écoute de mes goûts et ont su me conseiller à merveille.

Belle expérience, la gaufre aux bleuets est excellente. On a tous apprécié nos plats. L’ambiance est agréable.

Would give 5 stars but sometimes they’re low in staff and can lead to quick “throwing the dish on your table after having waited 30 mins for an avocado toast”

Si vous cherchez du service à la clientèle, pas besoin d'arrêter dans ce commerce.

Nous nous présentons 5 minutes avant la fermeture pour des boissons chaudes à emporter. L'hôtesse nous dirige vers le comptoir à emporter, une cliente est entrain de passer sa commande alors nous patientons en consultant le menu pour gagner du temps. Lors que notre tour arrive, l'employé nous mentionne que l'heure de fermeture a sonné, que sa machine est déjà fermée et qu'elle ne nous servira pas. Le restaurant étant encore assez achalandé avec des clients qui continuaient leurs repas, je trouve vraiment dommage ne pas prendre deux ou trois minutes de plus pour un thé ou un café.

I’ve come here before and the service was pretty slow. But this visit was up to standard with what you expect. Fast and attentive service, great food and good drinks. I got a hot chocolate that was good but a tad on the sweet side and the sweet potato blueberry waffles. Delicious.

Food is decent, and there are many options to choose from. However, my dining experience was ruined by the hostess! She was pretty rude when she seated us in the side counter area (because there were no empty tables). She did not inform us how to look at the menu nor give us the bar code to scene for the menu. So we asked her, and she rolled her eyes at us. Then moments later she came to me and told me they couldn't turn down the AC which I did not ask for! Then I told her, oh, I didn't ask that you have probably mistaken me for someone else. And she was like, no, for sure it was you! I got so mad after I repeated three times that it wasn't me and I did not speak to about the AC. She just walked away without apologizing.

L’endroit est joliment décoré, le service est sympathique mais très (très) lent… même un matin de semaine. La nourriture est magnifique, mais sans goût. Nos crêpes de patates douces n’avait pas de sauce; il y avait bien des oeufs pochés sur le dessus mais le jaune cuit dur. Bref, ça roulait en bouche. Personnellement, je n’y retournerais pas.

Although food is good, service is HORRIBLE! Went last week and our waitress Megan was inattentive and rude. Never greeted our table nor thanked us for her tip. Avoid this place.for the price of the food, you'd expect some sort of good customer service.

This place is a must try [at least once] because of their creative drinks and picture perfect plates. The latte sprinkled with cereal was delicious. The chicken and waffle was more on the sweat side rather than savoury but it was super cool to try a waffle made of sweet potatoes. The matcha pancakes come with a white chocolate dressing and it was sweetness overload, not sure how many people love that so early in the morning, but you could pair it with a black americano to balance it out. Service was nothing impressive but they tried their best to be friendly. We were seated in a booth by the window, because we had no reservation, not sure if the experience would have been different if seated elsewhere.

Found this great little spot during a girls weekend in Montreal. Was unsure because I'm not a fan of cereal, but there were so many other options. At the recommendation of Alex (exceptional server and the restaurant manager), the table shared the frittata, halloumi plate and house pancakes, plus smoothies and coffees. On our way out of town we went back to grab their Turmeric and Matcha smoothies for the ride, which were exceptional. I will definitely return when I go back to Montreal. The owner should ensure he keeps Alex happy. The best service I've ever received in a restaurant, and it was extremely busy.

Ok so this place has a cool vibe at first (cereal with your coffee was Nice).
But that’s all.
Food was served cold and with a longer then 30 minute wait even though the restaurant was practically empty when we came.

The waitress, she insisted it was feta cheese.
Very weird response instead of just taking it back to the kitchen since she was obviously wrong. I ate what I could and payed my bill clearly disappointed.
My friend on the other hand got his food cold and inedible he asked to warm it but the waitress said that the eggs are meant to be cold and therefore couldn’t change it, he wasn’t about to eat it so he just sent it back she took the food never asked if he would like anything else yet still charged him for it even though it wasn’t touched and was taken back.

I’m not sure why they don’t care at All about customer satisfaction but I have never experienced such bad customer service In my life.

Long story short we were a group of friends none of us enjoyed our meals the food is below average and the service doesn’t even make sense they literally expect you to pay for their mistakes? !
Anyway I don’t recommend don’t waste your time or money there are so many good restaurants nearby who care about their customers.

The only good thing at that place was the coffee.the food arrived too cold after almost 50 min of wait. I didn’t enjoyed the food but ate part of it because it’s seems that the didn’t cared.and my friend asked to take it back because his food was too dry and cold and he wasn’t able to touch it. In the bill they charge us for the food that they took back even when they didn’t offer any other dish instead.we tried to talk with them abut that but the manager just told us “it is what it is, even if u didn’t like it and we took it back, u still choose to order it and u need to pay for the dish that we took back “ we was there 3 people we ordered a lot of food but we ended needed to pay 150 dollar for some cream cheese and pancakes. We definitely won’t come back.for few dollars they choose to lose many clients as i see now at the reviews.

First time here and cafe that comes with cereals is just so cute! I also enjoyed my avocado toast here as well. Minus one star because everything took long from being seated to ordering and taking a check: (But overall it’s a great vibe and suitable for girls brunch.

Restaurant tres mignon. Le menu est très original, et délicieux. Les gaufres à la patate douce sont excellentes! Cependant, un peu cher et on a du mal à comprendre exactement où est le concept du bar à céréales puisque celles ci sont des céréales de grandes marques. Très bon moment et un régal, seul bémol, surprise à la fin: 20% de pourboire imposé parce qu’on était un « grand groupe », sauf que le service ne le méritait pas du tout et qu’on aurait pu au moins nous prévenir.

Barley is a nice breakfast joint with consistently good food and different creative platters to suit many tastes. Their mediterranean platters are quite tasty. Their service is good. One thing I would avoid is sitting on their terrace on a day when it could rain, as they did not have any canopies.

Super bon café. Service amical avec notre serveuse. Les plats ont l’air alléchants. Malheureusement, à notre goût, les plats sont beaucoup plus beaux qu’ils ne sont bons. Nous nous attendions à un goût un peu plus recherché ou équilibré vu la beauté de l’assiette et sa description mais nous avons été déçu. Reste que le resto est plein et les gens sont heureux:)

Un espace sympa et mignon pour déjeuner et étudier. J'y suis allée 4-5 fois, j'ai toujours autant aimé le service.

Chicken and waffles was good.

Waffle was definitely something I am coming back for! However, chicken tasted little overcooked.

Staffs were eating in front of customers (I understand because I went during lunch time but I don’t think it’s proper to eat in front of customers)

I asked iced matcha latte with extra matcha but it tasted like regular (light).

Charmant petit resto trendy, agréablement bondé lors de notre visite un samedi après-midi. Bonne ambiance, menu original, nourriture délicieuse et très bien présentée. Il faut essayer le latte au "cereal milk", ça donne le ton à toute l'expérience brunch!

Nous étions les premières arrivées à l'ouverture et la serveuse nous a placé à côté de la porte. Service très moyen, presque bête, voir même très hautain, de plus, une des serveuses ne parlait que anglais! La bouffe et les lattes sont bons! Si j'y retourne c'est pour la nourriture!

This place is super cool! Decoration is great, food & signature beverages are AMAZING! We really enjoyed it! The one thing that made this experience not perfect is that unfortunately the service was ULTRA slow… took a while to come see us once we were seated to the point where by the time the waitress came we had already scanned the entire menu and were ready to order. The worse part was the 30 minute wait for the bill ‍️ I understand everyone is short-staffed but there were a decent amount of employees walking around the place… anyways! FOOD GREAT, AMBIANCE GREAT, service can be better…

Barley has been on my list forever. So glad I finally got to try it. I was aware of the cereal concept before coming in so keep in mind things are going to taste very unique here. I ordered the waffle fried chicken and it was so different from what I expected. Slightly spicy and tangy, a bit like sweet chilli fried chicken on top of a waffle with a side salad. The side salad was a bit too bland. I didn't like the dressing as it was very light and there wasn't enough anyways so the mixed greens were bland.

However, it's definitely the top place to get a cute instagram picture!

The Barley spot was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
We ordered the food was good, but the pancakes were a bit dry, but the other dish was good. The latte was also good too.

Service très lent. La serveuse a pris une quinzaine de minutes avant de venir nous porter de l’eau. Le restaurant était peu achalandé et il y avait cinq serveuses pour gérer les clients.

Yummy breakfast and coffee. The “marshmallow” addition to your coffee was literally a large marshmallow while I was expecting lucky charms lol. But still delish! The chicken and waffles were a great texture and flavourful. My friend also got the matcha pancakes and loved them. The portions were large and we took home our leftovers. The bathroom isn’t the most glamour but it gets the job done

Service à la clientèle médiocre de la part de la personne qui reste à l’accueil elle m’a très mal parlé et m’a raccroché au nez quand j’ai appelé et à mon arrivée elle a été très impolie

If you’re in a rush, don’t go there. Extremely slow service, we went 4 times and literally waited 30 minutes to pick up a coffee. The food is also not that great, quality/quantity wise. I really hope they improve their service.

Tout ce qui se trouvait dans le plat était délicieux, mais ça ne veut pas dire que tout est bon que ça va bien ensemble. Il n'y avait pas de juste équilibre au goût, c'était soit trop salé, trop d'épices, plus le piquant. Vous savez le moment que vous êtes à la maison et que vous savez pas quoi manger mais que vous n'avez pas envie de cuisiner, alors vous prenez se qui traine dans votre frigo et faites que grignoter? Le plat à l'air d'avoir été fait de cette manière.

Decided to change my review to 1 star as they simply do not value their customers or service.

Unfortunately, this place did not live up to the hype i wished it did.i went Monday morning with my friends to celebrate her birthday, and i had ordered the 'House pancakes', i honestly truly didn't like them at all, the taste was so off and they were way to thick and almost burnt.i did how ever eat 1/3 of them because i was absolutely starving and our waitress never came by to ask if everything was okay so i never had the chance to say something. The service was extremely slow and when it came time to clearing our plates i told her i really didn't like them at all, and she immediately asked if it was the nutmeg that overtook the taste, almost as if its not the first time someone complained. I honestly didn't know what the off taste was, but i did express how i really didn't like them and thats why they were still on my plate.unfortunately no compassion was shown to my concerns and i still and to pay 20$ for these 1/3 eating pancakes i hated. Not saying i didn't want to pay at all, however some sort of interest in my concern like a few $ off would've really turned my thoughts over to this place. My friends food was good, would consider coming back maybe in the future.

J'adorais cette place! Mon copain et moi sommes des habitués et attendions la ré-ouverture post covid avec impatience! Depuis nous y sommes retournés et avons constater un déclin en qualité et service.
Le smoothie a 9$ (l'epicé) est celui que nous prenons chaque fois mais il est devenu un jus à l'eau et à la glace sans goût. Le café filtre est à fuir, les latte servit au gout de lait brûlé. Les chlorophylles qui étaient autrefois finement décorer de pousses fraiche sont bien moins soignés. Il faut solliciter beaucoup le personnel pour recevoir des choses basiques (cuillère avec le latte pour pouvoir manger les céréales, as de sucre, pas de sel ni poivre dans le plat ou sir la table, attendre l'addition pendant 20 minutes, personne ne vient vérifier si nous avons beosin de quelque chose ou si tout est à notre goût).
On va attende un bon moment avant d'y retrouver car c'est devenu décevant.

Parenthèse a part: on ne nous a pas réclamer notre vaxipass et d'ailleurs à personne d'autre qui sont rentrés par la suite.soyez donc aviser que vous n'êtes peut être pas protéger dans cet endroit.

C’est bien plus qu’un bar à céréales. Excellents brunchs, je recommande l’assiette de gravlax entre autres, dans un décorum un brin vintage.

Service sucked never came back to ask if we needed more coffee or water the coffee was cold and we were hassled as we left. Definitely do not recommend!

My bf and I went at 11: 30 to put down our names for a table for 2. They told us it’ll take 45-60 minutes so we went to walk around the area. We went back an hour later since they hadn’t called yet. They said it’ll take another 45 min to an hour. The rude girl with the curly hair said I can’t kick people out of their tables. Actually girl, you can put a time limit on tables like a lot of popular restaurants do. So they’re essentially asking me to wait 2 hours for a table. Which is fine if you’re honest about it from the start, but they drag clients along for an hour and make them wait another hour.
After all this, I chose to keep my name on the list to see when they’d actually call, while I was at an another restaurant. Guess what? They never did!
Do yourself a favour and walk over to Foiegwa or Quoi de neuf where you’re valued as a customer.

They were nice enough to let me in without a reservation in a busy Saturday morning. The quality of food was ok. The portion of food was small and the closeup pictures may not reflect the accurate portion size of the food. The coffee was cold and the food was not warm enough. The restroom was dirty with no paper towel in. I am going to give them 4 star for their customer service because the lady was very nice and did not charge me for the coffee as it was cold!

First of all I’m really sadden to give this place a 1 star. The 1 star has nothing to do with the food. After taking our name down and telling us that it will take 45 minutes, the girl told us that we will receive a text telling us that it’s our turn shortly.

We went walking around and came back after 1 hour just to see what’s happening cause we never got a message. We asked and she said we’re placing a group and to give her a moment. After waiting around 15 minutes she comes back to tell us that she’s so sorry that it can take another 45 minutes to be seated. I was really upset and told her why didn’t she just say no from the get go? I told her I just added 2 hours more on the parking meter in total 3 hours just to end up leaving. There was for 1/2 hour a empty table on the terrace, but she said it reserved. I then said if they’re late 30 minutes why not just give that table up.

We drove all the way from Laval, I know I could’ve reserved ahead of time, but do not take names down if you can’t handle it. I’m in the same business and maybe during the pandemic, not to take that many reservations and keep space for walk-in. The rating will change after an answer to this review. Cause I don’t believe that bad ratings should penalize a restaurant that serves good food, but it’s the only way a message will be taken seriously.

Worst service ever! I had a bad experience and it was my first time. I placed my order, payed for it and waited for 30 minutes outside & came to found out, my order never made it through. All the people that came after me had thier order before me. The cashier could atleast double check but no, nothing. Oh! The greating is bad too. Never again.
