Ben & Florentine

Was going there for years with my children. 2 young waitresses were extremely rude on purpose taking long to bring coffe and rolling eyes on me. Unfortunately owner was not there and i had terrible service and left with my family. 2 very rude you g waitresses 9 January. Ignored me on purpose. I m permanently switching to bigger breakfast next door. It’s unacceptable

I went there with a group of 10 people, on new year, and I was surprised on how nice the service was! Thank you to all the workers who came in to work and to serve us our first meal of the year!

Loved everything!

What we took:
- Smoothies: Healthy green & Watermelon (loved it!)
- Avocado, bacon & goat cheese toast
- Ricotta & Strawberry toast
- Old-fashioned skillet
- Eggs Benedict Spicy italian sausage and stiracha

I have been having my breakfast here on some Saturdays or Sundays for a very long time. Service is fast and friendly. Food is delicious. Coffee is free. So many options to pick from the menu. Place is always clean. Price is somewhat reasonable. If you are on a really very low budget maybe not the right option. If you want to eat in a quiet environment on weekends, pick the earliest time or much later even towards closing hours. Otherwise you might see a lineup at the entrance but they alway find you a spot and they never ever rush you to leave once you finish eating or to pick a table to sit when you enter. Please tip the waiters/ waitresses if you can as they deserve it there.

Great atmosphere with kind waitress.food was amazing. And the bus girl, Barbara was so helpful and super sweet.

Quelle déception après 11 ans que nous fréquentons le restaurant! Nous sommes des clients réguliers et nous avons toujours eu une bonne expérience avec les anciennes employées. On dirait que ce n’est plus pareil avec le nouveau staff.

La serveuse, une jeune fille prétentieuse
et sans bonnes manières a tout gâché.
Premièrement, elle n’a même pas remarqué que nous manquions d’ustensiles et de napkins. Après notre demande, elle les a apporté en les déposant directement sur la table et pas sur les napkins (la base de l’hygiène).
Ensuite, j’ai été obligée de lui répéter plusieurs fois la commande car elle se mélangeait. Puis, elle a rempli de nouveau nos tasses de café sans nous demander et sans faire attention à nous. Finalement, la cerise sur le gâteau, après avoir payé, elle n’a pas déposé le reçu, mais elle l’a jeté carrément sur la table pour montrer son mécontentement car je ne lui ai pas donné un bon pourboire. Quand je l’ai suivie et je lui ai conseillé d’améliorer son attitude, ainsi que son service, elle m’a dit d’aller chez McDonald’s. Quelles manières! Je suis choquée après 11 ans d’expérience chez vous. Mes enfants le sont aussi. Il n’y avait même pas de gérant sur place et je ne pouvais m’adresser à personne au sujet de cette situation.
Bref, les employés doivent être formés avant de travailler dans un restaurant fréquenté par des familles, côté hygiène, présentation des employés et la façon d’approcher le client car dans le fond, c’est un service pour lequel nous payons.

The experience was horrible. The food was horrible they made us wait a brought us cold food I was so hungry I still ate it. The waitress was very rude and racist don't waste your time I didn't think they deserved a tip so I didn't

Le cuisinier s engueulait avec le personnel. Pas très agréable et non professionnel? Mauvais service.

I ordered benedicton with spicy Italian sausage and it was great. It came with potatoes and a large quantity of fruit

The food here is good and the staff friendly and helpful. I particularly enjoy their skillets.

Comme première visite pour un déjeuner en famille, malheureusement nous avons eu droit à une mauvaise expérience!
Après nous avoir attribué une place, mon dieu que ça prenait du temps à qu’une serveuse viennes nous servir, jusqu’à ce que je demande à une serveuse qui passer à coter de nous de bien vouloir prendre notre commande, elle m’a répondu “un instant” et partie vers la cuisine se réunir et discuter avec les autres servantes que clairement donner l’impression que personnes ne savaient qui devait nous servir.
Finalement, une d’elle se dirigeait vers nous et une autre derrière avec du café pour nous verser un refill, mais le drôle c’était que dans quelle tasse? Si personne nous avait donner du café! Pas même de l’eau! Bon l’attente a été longue pour finalement avoir nos repas.
La nourriture était bien, rien de plus.
Pendant que nous mangeons pas de refill pour nos cafés, sachant que là on avait nos tasses!
La serveuse était froide, rien de plus à dire.
Et dire que j’en passe des événements!

Dommage, mais nous ne mettrons pas les pieds a cette endroit.

First time eating there. Service was very good. Didn't wait for a table. Food was excellent. Would recommend to anyone. Menu items were all around $14-$16. Pretty reasonable.

I will start by saying that the service is amazing. Waiters with a smile on their faces is a big big plus. Prices are very decent, towards cheap compared to other chains. Food is ok. Smoothies are very good. Verdict: give it a try.

Good food but the place is understaffed. We saw a couple just get up and leave because they were still waiting to order. We waited 10 minutes to pay. I'm guessing this has something to do with UBER orders. It was thursday july 28th at lunch time. 2 waitresses is not enough for thursday lunchtime.

This is an amazing breakfast restaurant. I usually try to avoid chain restaurants but this one has the family vibe to it. The staff is friendly and smiling. I usually create content for Ben & Florentine where they give me the option to decide where to go and I choose this one that’s not even the closest to my place because I love the service. When it comes to the food, I’m a fan of everything but I highly suggest to try their benedictine eggs!

The portions were decent, the quantity was good, service was friendly.

Ordered a take out today. Fresh delicious generous portions. Only thing oranges were dried but loved it will definitely come back

Ordered the combo with the sweet flat bread that should be with the hazelnut spread marshmallows and white brushed chocolate but from the look of it no one seemed like doing their job.

Friendly staff good sized portions can choose from the breakfast or lunch menu even later in the day. Easy to get to off of Marcel Laurin with lots of parking

Passez votre chemin, service super long et pas dynamique du tout, les employés ont du mal à porter le masque en tout temps.

Went for brunch on a Sunday, the wait was long but the food was great and the staff was very friendly.

Great bennies and the home fries are damn good. They were out of lox when I showed up and should get the espresso machine fixed. Service was quick and good, clean place, too. Would easily recommend it.

Même en temps de pandémie, Ben & Florentine reste accueillant et professionnel. Un simple coup de téléphone et ils nous attendent pour nous remettre notre sac-déjeuner sur lequel est écrit «Bonne journée! ». Un grand merci à l’équipe!

Dimanche matin vers 10h30: nous avons reçu un excellent service. La serveuse était présente et attentive à toutes les tables. La commande à été prise lorsque nous étions prêtes et nos plats sont arrivés rapidement. Les plats sont généreux et bons surtout la crêpe aux pommes caramel et fromage!

The Eggs Benedict were superb and the service was even better. My wife was right. I REALLY ENJOYED IT! We were there again today (March 1,2020) and enjoyed ourselves even more. The menu is regularly revised and the food is better than DELICIOUS. But best of all is the service. Even though they were VERY BUSY I can't possibly say enough good things about the friendliness and the quality of the service. Your staff is just plain super nice!

Second time here, first time for my parents, tasty food, friendly atmosphere, great service! You can't go wrong here

Food and service are good. We ordered casseroles and an avocado smoothie. Taste and quantity were fair (might be too little portion for a big guy though). Quick note on the smoothie, the combination wasn't proper to us, hence we didn't enjoy it. Great restaurant to bring kids, and overall, a great experience!

Food and service was ok. Could use more fruits.the fruits should be seperated in a bowl instead of mixing within the dish

Good service, not long wait time at 10AM in March, veggies lack a bit the full flavour (not in season), rest all good, I would give a 8 out of 10.

Local propre. Service rapide Nourriture excellente personnel rapide et professionnel specialement Karima qui a ete exceptionnelle. J'ai beaucoup aime le the vert avec un subtil gout de peche. Mon fils qui etais avec moi me dis d'ajouter que cela fais longtemps qu'il n'avais pas aussi bien mange. Son seul regret c'est que le verre de jus soit trop petit.
Ce fut une premiere fois certainement pas la deniere. Une experience gastronomique hors du commun.

Very nice place for brunch. Food was good, generous portions, and really good service! I'd definitely visit again if it weren't far from where I live

I love the food here. Everything I've tried has be delicious. Their service is also very good: always smiling and very quick to refill your coffee or water. I'm from out of town and I make an effort to go here whenever I visit.

Service très lent, il manque certainement d’employés.
Une personne qui mangeait avec nous a demandé des œufs bien cuits en précisant qu’elle avait une intolérance quand l’œuf est coulant. L’assiette arrive et l’œuf est a peine cuit. Paul, le serveur, s’argumente avec elle en disant qu’elle ne l’avait pas demandé de ce qui est faux. Elle doit insister pour qu’il reprenne l’assiette et revient avec une petite assiette avec seulement un œuf sans les fruits et les patates. Elle a payé le plein prix pour un œuf seulement quand elle n’a pas pu manger le reste. Elle a fait le commentaire et cela ne semblait pas déranger le serveur. Nous n’allons assurément plus manger à cet endroit!

The beans are a little too sweet for my taste, but this is very specific for Quebec so I should have requested no maple syrup. But the services are great as well as the atmosphere. They should clean the bathrooms more though.

This place was excellentThe food is absolutely delicious and our server Paul was awesome! He was very knowledgeable of menu choices and gave us insight on our orders. I will definitely visit here again the next time I'm in Montreal.

On avait commander deux plats, 45minutes + tard toujours rien et on nous annonce qu’il y aurait un peu de retard.lol sorry 45 minutes t’appelle pas sa du retard? Nous avons finalement quitter la place, service naze Bref pour des plats pas top non plus, je recommande pas du tout, aller plutôt à Petinos ou l’oeufrier. Vous serez pas déçu

Je viens à l’occasion à ce restaurant en raison de sa proximité avec l’un de mes lieux de travail. J’ai toujours été déçu du service à cet endroit. Ce matin était la dernière fois où je laissait une chance à cet établissement. La serveuse Effie est venue m’offrir du café et un menu après 8 minutes dans un restaurant peu occupé. Elle n’est venu me voir ensuite que 2 fois sans m’offrir de remplir ma tasse de café. C’est un endroit à éviter.

There are many chain breakfast places in the city and I must say that Ben & Florentine is definitely my favorite. They have some original dishes where you can tell they are really trying out new recipes and have some great chefs working in this. The food is always great and I have tried a lot of meals and the service is equally excellent. This location was no different, another new dish that I really liked and service was spot on, refilling our tea or coffee at the right interval and clearing the dishes in a timely manner, all with a smile.

The food here is excellent and creative. The regular coffee is good but my Americano was terrible. The ambiance is a bit too classy for brunch. The wait staff comes too early and too often to take your order.
All in all, the fresh ingredients and food quality are the only things that save this place.
