Best Western Plus Hotel Montreal

I recently stayed at this hotel, and my experience was less than satisfactory. The ambience was not up to par, creating a less-than-pleasant atmosphere. Moreover, despite booking with breakfast included, I was denied access during breakfast hours, with the staff claiming it wasn't part of my reservation. This inconsistency left me disappointed and frustrated with the overall service.

Good price. Regular service. 24h reception. Excellent location. Room area is good. Comfortable bed and pillows. Air conditioning and wifi worked well. Good bathroom. Regulating the shower water temperature was challenging: either cold or very hot. The towel rail in the bathroom was loose. Inside the shower box, there is nowhere to put bath products. At reception there is a coffee machine always available to guests at no extra cost.

Spacious rooms, welcoming staff, excellent location, close to Metro, bus station and main Montreal attractions.

Je débute en mentionnant que j’ai jamais eu besoin de faire un review négatif sur une hôtel par le passer et je voyage depuis des années. Je ne me gênerais pas de laisser mon avis sur cette hôtel plus que minable, -5 étoiles aurais été une note réaliste mais elle n’est pas disponible la chambre était mal propre et nauséabonde. Les lits avait même pas été nettoyer nous avons retrouvé plus de poils dans les draps que dans le lit du chien. La climatisation n’est pas ajustable on n’a passer la nuit à geler car on n’a coucher par dessus leur beau draps sale, les coins et derrière de mobilier rempli de reste de bouffer et de poussière le petit thermostat a écran led qui semblait être la seul chose moderne de l’hôtel ne fonctionne même pas, zero commodité et les produits de chambre de bain sont ridicule a 270$ la chambre sans compter le stationnement pour 6 voitures au sous sol qui en contient 12 en plus du valet qui sait pas conduire et essaie de placer les véhicules a la presse et parle zéro français. Je pourrais en parler encore longtemps à éviter a tout prix! Aussi bien coucher dans ton auto!

It's the employees here that really made the difference for me. It was a late night check-in and the front desk staff member was kind and attentive.

The rooms have been updated in the last decade, more or less and the bed was comfortable. There was a slight odour in my room upon checking in but it was super noticeable. I just wonder what went on in the room there before my stay.

Had a bad experience with a staff member called Meghan (blonde hair girl, mid 30's) Thought she was rude and a tiny bit too disrespectful towards me and my wife. She seemed really impatient when my wife asked her questions about the location and the functionality of the hotel. Overall great

Excellent hotel, big room, clean & great customer service.

The downsides are that due its great location being less than 5 mins walk from Berri-UQAM, it is also on a very crowded street hence noisy at night so it’s not easy to get a good night sleep. It is also relatively expensive.

(French below) I absolutely adored my stay! Not only was the location ideal an accessible to downtown Montreal, but the staff was kind, available and welcoming. My room was clean and very comfortable. I felt very safe and reassured to be staying there for my getaway. Will 100% be going back!

J'ai adoré mon expérience! L'hotel est placé en plein downtown, ce qui permet l'accès à plusieurs services à distance de marche raisonnable. Les employés étaient disponibles, gentils et accueillants. Ma chambre fut propre et très confortable. Je m'y suis sentie en toute sécurité et rassurée d'y rester pendant mon séjour. Je vais y retourner c'est certain! Je vous le recommande absolument!

Un hôtel fort bien situé, chambres spacieuses et propres, et l'on apprécie particulièrement la qualité des boissons offertes. Un bémol toutefois pour le petit déjeuner un peu limité et le fait qu'à Montréal, le personnel ne soit pas plus naturellement francophone.

The location is great.close to restaurants and shopping. Although it does look a little dingy on the outside, the room was super clean, spacious and the king bed super comfy. However we did find the staff to be a little reserved and unfriendly.

Overall it is a nice hotel but an employee stole some of my husband stuff. Nothing expensive but my husband had an emotional attachment to it. I don’t recommend it for this reason. Best western did nothing about it, apparently, it is not their problem.

Emplacement au centre-ville, personnel sympathique et service de voiturier rapide. Cependant, la chambre reçue était dégueulasse. Regardez les photos: poils dans la douche, tapis sale, coulisses sur les meurs, ventilation avec poussière, taches ici et là. J'ai contacté les gens à la direction de l'hôtel pour leur faire part de la situation. On m'a mentionné que c'était difficile de recruter du personnel. Toutefois, la chambre reçue n'était pas simplement sale à cause des clients de la veille, elle était sale depuis des semaines, voire des mois en raison d'un laisser-aller. On m'a proposé environ 40 $ pour compenser. J'ai répondu que je croyais que ça valait plus que cela. On m'a dit que c'était le maximum qu'ils pouvaient faire. Je ne conseille pas cet endroit, à moins qu'un grand ménage soit fait.

If you wanna get yelled at talk to Nick (the manager? I'm a regular traveller and this was my first worst customer service experience. If emergency happens make sure you have the reservation with some other hotel because you will get at least some other date but here, they will eat your money.

Worst Best Western hotel - DO NOT STAY HERE

We checked into the hotel, paid and left our vehicle with Valet. The Valet did not move our vehicle and we received a parking ticket. The hotel is refusing to pay for the parking ticket, while the car was in the possession of the hotel when the ticket was received. The hotel manager and staff are extremely rude and discriminatory. There is no communication and they will take advantage of you for being out of province. They do not take responsibility or ownership for their own staff mistakes, will make false promises to compensate you and then will blame you instead.

Superbe hôtel. Deuxième séjour depuis 2017. Les chambres sont super propres et bien insonorisées. J'aurais préféré avoir un service de stationnement libre-service, si l'option serait offert cela serait super intéressant. Pour le reste, toujours aussi satisfait!

We Arrived late, terrible reception of guests coming in from a long night of travelling, barely told us what room key were for which room. We had booked a non smoking room, but the Room smelled like lots and lots of smoke and there was a burn on the carpet. The fridge was also not working and we had to give our food to someone else to store. Gave a late checkout, but these guys were not at all helpful while hearing our complaints. Honestly save your money and don’t book here - too many issues and reading the reviews our experience could have been much much worse and with a management that isn’t willing to address any issues or take any tea responsibility, I’d much rather just pay a bit more per night for a decent stay.

Pros: If you book in advance, the price of the hotel is reasonable considering how close everything is. The lady working at the reception on August 27th between 3pm and 9pm (forgot her name) was friendly and very helpful with giving advice on where to eat and what to see nearby. The hotel’s lobby is clean, room was clean, and free breakfast available (mostly grab and go style food - not their fault due to COVID precautions).

Cons: There are two options for parking. One, Valet Parking with the hotel for $25. You can take your car in and out as much as you like. Two, there’s parking about 2 blocks away that’s around $14-$15. But once you leave and go back to park, you’ll have to pay again. I went with the Vallet Parking. The location is about a 10 minute walk to Marché Bonsecours/Old Port (the nicer part of Montreal). However, the surrounding area is not as nice. Stay clear from La Belle Province (filthy restaurant nearby with terrible service).

If you have a family, avoid this hotel! They have cleanliness issue. I have attached a photo of the feet of my son after crawling for less than 10mn in our room. Then, we discovered that the side table had water issue and is rotten. When pointing these issues, the manager (not at the hotel, only reachable by phone) told us that we should book another room if we are not happy with ours and that he will not refund for our current room. I have never seen such dirty hotel with such extremely poor hospitality service, I will be avoiding best Western from now on
