Best Western Ville-Marie Montreal Hotel & Suites

After staying at Best Westerns my whole life while traveling in Canada and the USA to play and coach hockey. I will never be going back to any best western after the nightmare I had experienced here. The staff was completely rude unaccommodating and lacked even the most basic customer service skills.

Talking to staff was difficult because they stink so bad. Had to hold my breathe while talking to them. They wouldn’t stop talking and their breathe made me want to throw up.

We had a pleasant stay. We found the view of the Parc du Mont-Royal from our room 1906 very beautiful. The room was clean and the quality corresponded to the selected 4-star category. Particularly worth mentioning is the large king-size bed, which was super comfortable and comfortable. We have rarely slept as well in a hotel as we did there. However, the bathroom was a bit small in relation to the room, but it didn't detract from the good impression. Both the room and the bathroom were clean. The staff at the reception were always nice and gave us good advice for our stay.

Staying at this hotel was unfortunately such a disappointing experience. Many staff were rude and unprofessional. Would not recommend at all to other travellers

Me and my girlfriend came to this hotel. For the price we expected quality however, Room wasn't cleaned properly, on top of that, we complained to staff about it and nothing was done to fix our situation. They basically said that it's not their problem and should leave if we didn't like it. Which we did. No refund was issued either.

I will never be going back to any best western in the world due to the awful experience I had at this location. Stay away from it. Rude staff, lack of cleanliness, unprofessional, and the list goes on. Avoid this hotel unless you like being taken advantage of.

*Cardio: elliptical machines, treadmill and hometrainer bikes
*Strenght: double pulley machine, overhead press machine, multi machine (leg extension (hurts), chest press, lat pulldown, curl option, chest flys (elbow) (no wieghtnumber on it)
No free weights.
*Yoga balls/mat and steps
*No music or towels butt there is a waterfountain

Hotel located on the slopes of Mont real, in a very quiet area a stone's throw from McGill university, surrounded by flower gardens and period buildings. A short distance away you can reach the shopping streets and restaurants, both international and local. For those arriving by rental car, I recommend the parking in front (22cad per night) rather than the hotel one, which is much more expensive. I specify that these indications were provided to us by the hotel concierge. Tip much appreciated. The rooms are very spacious and clean. In this hotel they make up the rooms every day unlike hotels in Québec. Furthermore, the hotel bar, also open to the public, allows you to have excellent breakfasts: good espresso, croissants, slices of ring-shaped cake. All very good. It can be consumed sitting down with free WiFi.

Very horrible customer service. Due to covid could not go to stay anymore and they would not even offer a partial refund. So disappointing and upset will not be booking again.

Absolutely zero help given by the hotel and it's admin. Peter at front desk was curt and didn't even try to help my situation. Despite being told one thing by one manager I was being told something else by another.

UPDATE: I would call the front desk again but I worry I will get the same response. If the admin can contact me directly then I am more than happy to engage.

The location is awesome, cheerful frontdesk.
They fave to pay attention to cleanness of room especially the bed and bathroom. The smell of smoke was really irritating.

This is the worst place to stay in Montreal, the property charged my $920 for 3 nights and I did not receive housekeeping at all in my entire stay. The room ran out of everything even shampoo and when I talked to the reception, they had no answers and they made me haul the towel and toiletries to my room. This is the worst hotel stay I ever had, It is a gratified and expensive Airbnb with the worst host ever. Do yourself a favour and do not stay here. If I could give them negative stars I would.

I loved staying here! The staff were immensely friendly and helpful on many fronts, and the whole property as well as rooms were in wonderful shape: one of the larger rooms I've had at a hotel in memory, clean and well maintained. Nice coffee shop/cafe in lobby. Great pricing for my stay.

There were no face cloths, so we had to use hand towels to wash our bodies. There was also no parking on site so we had to park at the hotel across from us and there were no in and out privileges. We definitely didn’t know of this prior to booking. Everything else was great though. Front desk service was excellent.

This Best Western is centrally located in Montreal. It's a short distance to some of the historic locations and if you are a walker, it is within walking distance to old Montreal, Chinatown and the Latin Quarters. My only issues were the room keys didn't work even after getting them set twice. The room was clean and everything in the room worked. I can easily recommend BW Ville-Marie Montreal.

Great location for downtown Montreal, at a very good price. Rooms had all necessities required for a short stay. There were noisy guests that were quickly and promptly dealt with by the front desk. The rooms were clean, and had ample space (room with two queen beds). The HVAC system worked well, there was ample lighting, and the bathrooms were fine, though a little dated. The elevators were adequately quick, with no lineups. Checkin and out was fast. Did not consume breakfast at location, but there is a nice Cafe facing Sherbrooke street. There was no microwave in the room, but one available at the Cafe. The mini fridge was large enough to keep several days of food.

The room wasn’t the same as it was shown in the image. The closet door was hanging and was about fall on one of our friends. Moreover, the plugs weren’t working properly. The management didn’t really helped and were refusing to cancel or give us another room.

Great service, and communication, very helpful! I booked a stay on the wrong date, reception quickly found me a new room with write amount of beds at a cheaper price.

Room very small. Virtually no windows, poor lighting and weak water pressure in the shower. The only positive is the location. It's close to most downtown attractions. But overall would not recommend this hotel.

I was a long time costumer (2 nights each 2 weeks) and a night was cancel last March for Covid. They didn't want do reimburse me. I email Rafik and Rania without any answer.

One of our rooms, room 1111 did not have a functioning AC unit. We noticed this and informed the front desk (Elizabeth Jobba) who said they would have someone fix it after inspecting the unit herself and/or offered a refund so we could go find another hotel as there were no rooms available in your hotel. Given COVID, we opted for her to try to fix it as we were going out. Upon our return around 1 am, the AC was still not working and the room was much warmer than even the hallways. At this time, she rudely suggested we speak with the day team manager as she could not do anything to further help us including could not refund us.

The day manager David very politely suggested we reach out directly to Mr. Rafik as he was not authorized for changes. He did not reply to our email.

Very disappointing experience.

We enjoy our weekends stay here, though you hardly see the staffs but they are so helpful and the lobby they keep it clean and smell good!

Atrocious staff. Extremely rude customer service. Somehow our reservations were cancelled and we were blamed for it. Didn’t apologize or try to accommodate with us. Don’t stay here there are plenty of other hotels worth that provide better service for a better price.

Amazingly peaceful central Montreal easy access to shopping and eateries. Super clean streets filled with friendly people of all corners of the world.

Old hotel, smelly, poor climate control, soundproofing is garbage. Can hear all the goings on of floors above and below, people talking; I’d say this place should be 40/night.

Small rooms. No view. Because of Covid, no restaurant, no room cleaning, no coffee capsules added each towel. Need to go diwnstairs to change towels. Jeff

Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't provide room service, no microwave in the room as well. The bed sheets are itchy, and the non smoking room smell like cigarettes. Most of all, there is no parking available, so you have to find your own parking space, go to other establishments like Le Cartier, which provides valet parking for 24hrs $22, but no in or out. Once you need your car to go out, you have to pay again. Better to walk a little bit at Luna apartments. Pay the parking by Indigo on the app. It is $16 for 24hrs. You can go in and out, but that will not change the fact that BW doesn't provide parking for the reason it is under renovations.

Arriver fans la chambre, chambre assez petite et bruyante, j’entendais la chambre voisine parler. La salle de bain n’étais pas tout à faite propre, il rester une serviette à terre.
Le soir, le restaurant et le bar ne sont pas ouvert mais cela aussi n’est pas mentionner.
L’heure d’arriver et de départ sont assez bien penser pour profiter de Montréal

Excellent location. Too bad that due to covid 19 no valet parking or housekeeping services. Fresh towels were delivered upon request.

The room was good. The front desk staff were friendly.a little slowness in internet access. All in all, it was a good experience.

Refusing to cancel or even change the date of a reservation during a global pandemic is asking people, like me, to travel over a closed border and bring an infectious disease with me. Profits over lives!

What you would expect. Good, reliable staff. (Got upgraded because we were pleasant af) with room service, atmosphere and "homey" feel. I almost didn't want to leave the room.

There was a group of people yelling through the halls, I called the front desk around 3: 15 am and they said they were aware of it and dealing with it but by 4 they hadn't sent anyone to deal with it, I eventually fell asleep with my head between two pillows to drown out the sound. While the room was cozy and clean and the bed very comfortable, the inaction of management ruined the experience, and I had to cancel plans the next day to catch up on sleep.

Great place to day in the Fashion district of Montreal. Clean, quiet hotel, the staff are great and helpful. Breakfast (we did the buffet) was very tasty with good selection.

Great hotel in the heart of downtown Montreal. Very accommodating staff, clean comfortable rooms, lots of things todo and restaurants to eat at near it.

This has to be the best all around value for a hotel in downtown Montreal. I chose it simply to be close to the Bell Centre as I flew in for 5 days it see a concert. I also used my Air Miles to book this hotel but would gladly pay the retail price in cash next time. Large room, decent little gym and awesome staff. I have stayed in Hotels all over from Comfort Inns to Fairmonts and this was definitely “the best” Best Western I have stayed in.

Beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff, and nicely furnished rooms. Continental breakfast was decent, didn't have a chance to dine in the restaurant but it was nice having a coffee shop attached to the hotel. Location was fantastic!

I travel a lot for business and usually stay in higher end hotels but somehow ended up here on this particular trip. It's certainly missing the aesthetic of the higher end hotels I'm used to but not the Amenities or comfort. For what it is it's very decent. Super clean and newish. The bed's got a foam mattress, which was actually my only problem. It was fine for one night and likely comfortable for most people, but for me, not so much. That is something not exclusive to this hotel so I won't penalize them for it. I would even stay here again.

Clean and large rooms. The view of Mont real was quite nice. Room had a weird McDonald's smell too it that they we're able to remedy easily thankfully. Bathroom was larger than expected. Overall a great hotel for business or pleasure.

The Best Western Ville-Marie was very nice. The room I stayed in was very clean and quiet large as well. Check in was easy and the front desk was very friendly. The bathroom was spotless and the bed was comfortable. I was happy to have a small fridge as well to put some drinks in for the next morning. The location of the hotel is great. It's in the middle of everything and there are plenty of places to go for food or shopping. I would definitely recommend anyone stay here if they come to Montreal.

Super upset with this hotel! Got charged for smoking weed in 2 rooms! Not a single person smoked in the rooms $700 I pleaded and asked for them to investigate further.check video surveillance of hallways ect.and the manager refused to do anything further. The sad part is they didnt even tell me when we were checking out to defend ourselves. Not recommended to anyone who smokes cigarettes or weed. Just because you do you must be smoking in the rooms. Thanks Best Western for making our amazing experience in Montreal tainted!

Had a wonderful time in the heart of Montreal. The Best Western offers the best rates for the comfort, class, and cleanliness of the hotel. Enjoy your stay, I did! It's my second time there and I wil be back.

My husband and I have been coming the the Best Western Place Ville-Marie 2 to 3 times a year since 2014 (when our oldest started university at McGill). We have always found the staff to be incredibly professional and helpful with a sincere desire to make our stay comfortable. When we found ourselves on a noisy floor one time, they made every effort to change our room to a floor where there was no hockey team visiting:). A member of their staff came to our room promptly when we needed towels for a third person. The food in the restaurant is surprisingly good Middle Eastern cuisine! We also love the location - close to McGill, downtown, and our favourite hot yoga place: Enso Yoga. Mike, the Valet, once got us THE BEST tickets to a Habs versus Leafs game (7th row, center ice). It was amazing! All their staff have consistently worked hard to be efficient and to make our stay enjoyable. We have one more kid left at McGill and we plan to stay here whenever we visit Montreal, in the coming year, and beyond.
