Experience I had was very good, first they price matched an item for me, then the manager gave me a 10% discount on the entire bill. I had got home and realized there was a piece missing from the bike seat so I went back but they had none left in stock. The manger then told me not to worry and that he would drive to their warehouse and pick up a new one for me. 20 minutes total. Great service and understanding, not sure why there would be others giving less than 4-5 stars.

Over the many years I, bought both my bicycles here. I arrived there today September 2,2022 and was glad to see that Bruno was still active here. The shop is full of beautiful E bikes and the service department is very functional at reasonable prices. Thank you.

This place is pro! My bike is an expensive road bike and I do not feel comfortable letting just anyone work on it. The Mechanics there know their stuff and they will not do anything to your bike without consulting and explaining the repair first.
Oddly enough for a place this pro my 9 year old daughter is treated like a vip and she got her first road bike from there too! This is an extremely well run business and I would highly recommend it!

Awesome customer service. Staff listened to what I was looking for in an ECat Trike. I have had a Catrike Pocket for many years and felt the need to upgrade to a folding Ecat. Space is prime real estate in our home. Thankful for my new Catrike Trail. Handles like a dream.

The days of cheap bikes are long gone, but they'll help you pick the one you need without pushing to higher budgets unnecessarily.
It's complicated to get new performance bikes for reasons outside their control and they went above and beyond to get it done.

Ordered TUILE rack. Over the course of TWO months, I received many excuses why the unit was not in my possession. Finally, they told me they would refund my deposit. I then purchased the rack at another store.

Can only say great things about BicyclesMcW and Stephan/Robert in particular. I just moved to the CSL area and visited McW for the 1st time for my seasonal eBike Tune-Up, after having been recommended by several of my friends. Upon entering I was immediately greeted and welcomed by Stephan, who spent some time conversing with me and asking questions about my eBike while I was waiting. When my turn came up I dealt with Robert the Mechanic. I asked for Tune-Up # 2 (The "Professional") but before taking my bike in and generating the Work Order Robert took his time to evaluate and determine if a Tune-Up was even required. To my surprise, I only needed a fine tuning of my gears and additional air in the tires. Rather than have me wait or come back some other time, Robert undertook the small repair on the spot. Talk about service! I did not even buy the eBike from McW and they helped me out anyways. Not too many bike shops still do that. Would for sure recommend McW for anyone looking for honest and top notch level service.

It took time and patience, but I finally got my Devinci Django and it was speced out as I hoped it would be. Thank you. Stephane and the boys (Bruno too) took nice care of me at the shop yesterday. Thanks to Robert, the bike is set up perfectly for me and rides like nothing i have ever driven before. Can't wait to get it a bit dirty now. Great bike and great service.

I bought a bike at the beginning and rode it pretty hard all summer. Mike and the other mechanics did a sweet job at tuning it up, fixing my derailer problem and managed to put together the necessary parts to rebuild my wheel during a parts shortage.

Can't complain, I'd go back to them if I had to do it all over again.

I recently bought a ebike here. I was concerned that my lack of skill and knowledge would be a problem. Stephan was wonderful and very patient answering my often repeated questions! Ricardo was also helpful and responded quickly to all queries. Great product and great service.

What a journey.even with all the complications and stress due to COVID, I am extremely pleased with the service and professionalism of the folks at McW. Although I was not able to get the bike I originally wanted, they made sure to offer me other options and find a bike I was extremely pleased with. To top it off, my bike was personally delivered to me in Ottawa by Ricardo.

At the end of the day, patience and understanding go a long way. I would much rather support small businesses like McW and ensure consumers continue to have choices beyond the big box stores!

Unprofessional and I won't be going back. Was a return customer for years but no more. In my opinion new ownership (Ricardo) has an unprofessional demeanor - consistently forgets to follow up, makes multiple mistakes, and has a sleezy attitude. I honestly felt like he was under the influence when he was speaking with me. Gave two stars only because I've received such great service in the past and this was my go-to bike shop. Happy to spend my money elsewhere.

Excellent Service! I live in Ottawa, ON, I was looking for a gravel bike and was very discouraged to learn that it would probably take a year or more. I found a bike in Montreal. When I called Richard, he informed me, he was getting a shipment of Cannodale Topstone 1s. It took a couple of months but it was delivered to Ottawa last Sunday. I appreciate the efforts and great service from Bicycles McW in Montreal. I love the bike!

WOW! Can only say great things about Stephan and Robert. After having procured an eBike from then late last year I started to have problems with noise coming from my bottom bracket. I took it in for repair and they quickly inspected it and determined that my crank needed to be replaced and that it would take a about a week for the part to be delivered. This was certainly not the news I wanted to hear, seeing that I had planned to take my bike with me for a weekend getaway. What really impressed me the most was when I was asked if I would like to borrow 1 of their bikes for my trip. I personally do not know many bike shops willing to do that. A1

Just a quick note on the outstanding service provided by Stephane at Bicycle McW, he went out of his way to satisfy us, he even took care of our parking as well. He made our transaction easy and comfortable and made sure we were good to go in assisting us with the loading of our new Envo’s on our bike rack. Just good for basic things like flat tire. Be careful when you want to go here. Because you may be charged 100$ for a basic service which is nothing just inspection and lubed chain.

On their online store it says that the bike is available. But when I call to check the person on the other line doesn't if it's in stock or not. And they have to ask their boss. Then after an hour a guy named "Richard" called me and told me the bike ia not in stock if I want the bike I can't put a deposit on the bike. You know that your not allowed to take deposit to the costumer right?

All I can say is the character of an owner permeates an organization. I needed a tube to fulfill a promise to my son - he was technically closed and his sales system was being redone. I explained snd he said cash would be ok. Except then he handed over a tube and tool I needed and said “ just go be super dad. “. World needs more people like you.sir. Pls support this place! Some things are beyond just prices etc.

If you are in the market for a new e-bike, we strongly recommend Bicycles McW. By good fortune we discovered them during our shopping research and we ended up buying two new e-bikes, the Envo D35 from them. Richard was great from the start, informative, knowledgable and very pleasant. It seemed he was always available, night, day and weekends! He always responded to our queries quickly and never gave us the sense that he was tired of our own enthusiasm. Being very new to e-bikes, Richard made us confident that we were in good hands. Excellent service! Went there with my rusted shut seat collar bolts ready to give up and just buy another seat set but Bruno had something else to say about it. Took his tool and came out the store to look at that with me. When we were having trouble Stephan also came out to help out. After a few minutes, a new seat collar and a few bucks, I was riding back home. Can't thank them enough for the great service. They really went above and beyond! Highly recommend!

My son was on the market to purchase is own, first bicycle. We shoped around a while, but as soon as we stepped in McW we had the feeling we were in good hands. After asking us a few questions, Bruno with its 41 years of experience selling bicycles was able to get my son exactly what he was looking for in his budget. These days real, in person customer service is becoming a thing of the past but in the end it's what makes the difference and you cannot put a price on that.

I was on Kijiji looking for a Thule chariot cross and saw their store advertising. Ended up buying it from them and received really great service. They even offered free shipping (I live in Ottawa) and prices were very reasonable. Definitely recommend this family owned local business!

Upon entering the store you are quickly greeted with a smile and even offered refreshments (expresso, water, juice, etc.). I dealt with Salvatore and found him to be very patient, as he was able to tolerate my many questions:) I was looking for an eBike and he took the time to show me the available options and I got focused on this new company from BC called DOST. What really sold me was when I was asked if I would like to test-ride the Kope model, something that many stores do not offer. After trying out the bike I noticed how comfortable and fast it really was. I had no means to take it home with me, as I did not have a car rack. Salvatore immediately made arrangements even for this. Would defiantely recommend BicyclesMcW to family and friends.

What outstanding service. I have been looking for a recumbent trike and had called BicyclesMcW to see what they had to propose. I dealt with Stephane who was nice to spend almost 1 hour with me on the phone to provide me an overview of Catrike. I mentioned that I am from Ottawa and wanted to take advantage of their rent before you buy program, but I had no means of getting to Montreal. Stephane notified me that this would not be a problem as one of the Owners lives in the NCR. End-result was they delivered me a Catrike without even charging me for delivery. Richard was patient enough to adust the trike and explain how it works. I ended up buying the trike just after 3 days of trying it out. Would for sure recommend and cannot wait to motorize it next year.

I was messaging the owner, Richard, about a bike online, and received great service. I checked out the bike in person with a different employee and it ended up being too big for me. Richard kindly messaged me back a couple of days later asking if he could help me look for another bike, so I went in today to meet him in person.

Unfortunately, our interaction was nothing like it was online. He showed me a couple of bikes in a rushed manner, and was ready to head over to the cash register after just a minute of pointing at the metal brake levers (because apparently plastic ones "melt in the sun. "), front suspension, disc breaks and the brand of the derailleur when I asked for detailed specifications. I said okay, I see all that, but can you tell me some good things about the bike and details ie.quality of components, agility on trails, how rugged of x-country terrain can it handle, etc. He didn’t really seem to know much, and focused more on its colour and visual appeal. Then we went to look at accessories. I grabbed one helmet, and he said “well that one is for trail riding, not the road”…I said yes…I AM looking at a x-country bike after all…

I thanked him for his time and said I would research the bike a little bit (I had never heard of the Felt brand). He said you don’t really do research on $700 bikes, that’s more for expensive bikes…I can go to Canadian Tire and get the same bike if that’s what I want. What? !

As an almost-30-year-old woman who looks like a teenager, I really feel like I was not given the time and respect that a lot of other reviewers have expressed. Perhaps Richard was having an off-day, and this car salesman tactic isn't his norm, but it’s unfortunate seeing as I was very serious about purchasing a bike very soon. It definitely won’t be from here though.

Edit: the staff at the front, and the previous floor staff member I met earlier in the week were great.

Assez déçue du service.je suis passée en magasin pour essayer un vélo. Je l'ai ensuite réservé, mais de vive voix, avec le vendeur, qui me disait que tout était beau et qu'il pouvait me le réserver sans problème et que je pourrais revenir après la période de confinement pour l'acheter. J'ai dit que j'allais le rappeler dans 2 jours pour valider mes informations et certains détails. Quand j'ai rappelé (après 3 jours finalement), le vélo avait été vendu, simplement parce que je n'avais pas rappelé après les 2 jours que j'avais mentionné et que je n'avais pas fait de dépôt. Je croyais pourtant que le vélo m'avait déjà été réservé. C'est peut-être un manque de compréhension de ma part, mais je suis bien déçue, puisqu'on m'a dit clairement en magasin que le vélo m'était réservé et on ne m'a même jamais parlé du dépôt à faire.

A couple of years ago i was looking for someone to fix a a Paw Patrol kids bike purchased from Walmart (which was assembled wrong by the store)

Found this place, and they were able to fix my nephew's bike in a few hours. We also purchased a cute like bike bell for it.

To the guy at the back (who looks a bit like Santa with his specs and beard and jolly laugh and smile) thank you so much for putting a smile on my nephew's face. 2 thumbs up!

Back in 2018 I purchased a Catrike and received the best possible customer service. I live in Western Ontario, so the great service was a comfort when dealing with a far away Montreal business.

How then, can it be the same business that has provided such abysmal service this year when trying to purchase a set of tires and tubes?

Here is the list of interactions:

I emailed my initial enquiry on July 13
I received a prompt email reply saying that Robert would be in touch
I email again on July 17 having not heard from Robert
On 18 July I then received a call from Robert taking down the details of my order so that it could be confirmed by email.
I was copied on a blank email to the owner on 23 July
Having still not received details of my order, I followed up on 28 July, I’m case the blank email had meant to be followed up or corrected.
On 30 July I emailed again, summarizing the correspondence so far
I received a response the same day, requesting my phone contact again so that Robert could call me
I provided my phone information the same day
On Aug 8 I emailed again, having not heard from Robert in response to providing my phone number
I received dd an email response the same day, saying that Robert would call me
On Aug 17 I emailed to indicate that I was getting frustrated, having still not heard from Robert
I received a call from the owner, with Robert on the line. We went through the entire discussion yet again to determine the products I needed and I was assured that Robert would contact me soon with details and pricing
This morning October 4, I emailed the business to let them know that my patience has run out.
They immediately emailed back saying that they will sort it out and even pay compensation. But I have no reason to believe that and would rather put my business elsewhere than to be compensated and to feel beholden to them.

I know that stocks of tires and tubes are low this year, but consistently encouraging me to think that they are going to supply the products and then simply going silent, has fooled me to think that I have found a source when in fact I have just been wasting time when I should have gone elsewhere long ago.

I haven’t been able to ride my Catrike at all this year and, while my misguided loyalty and patience have been a contributing factor, I blame Bicycles McW for this. In particular, Robert seems to be a wholly unreliable employee who is damaging the reputation of a business which, otherwise seems to have good intentions.

If I had reviewed Bicycles McW in 2018 they would have got 5 stars, but at this point they only get 1.

Had procured a Wahoo Kickr Core trainer last July from another bicycle shop in TO. Recently had an issue (due to overheating) and found it the whole Warranty process and experience extremely difficult and frustrating. Got in contact with my LBS (BicyclesMcW) and dealt with Stephane and Robert. They verified with the Canadian distributor and was told a replacement unit will not be available right away as they are currently on BO. Not sure what I was gonna do as this would impact my training season. Received a call back from BicyclesMcW and they offered to loan me a floor model in the interim while I wait for my replacement trainer to arrive. What service! Found the whole experience very pleasant and just dealing with Stephane was a charm:) Robert was even patient with me to explain how the trainer works. Thank you guys.

Very difficult to work with the mechanics and there was a lot of miscommunication that made the entire situation difficult. Try to avoid working with the mechanic Pierre, provided little help with minimal suggestions for how to repair my bike.

UPDATE! We got the bike. Thanks to Sal the owner of the shop for the fast action. Nevertheless Stefan and his crew are very knowledgeable and friendly, i would still recommend the shop to my friends and family. I’ll go back to get some accessories for our bikes. Thanks MCW family!

My wife saw the website of the store and they offered this payment method called Paybright so we tried it and my wife got pre-approved. (JULY 18,2020) We went to the store to find a bike for my wife. We found this Devinci Hex Sora and my wife liked it so we proceed to purchasing it, 1500+ is the price of the bike (tax in and a bottle cage), they ask us for a deposit of 450$ which we paid and the rest of the balance we will put it on Paybright. After the payment they told us that we need to wait 10 days for them to release the bike. After 4 days (July 22,2020) they called us again and they said that the bike is ready, upon arriving at the store they ask us for the payment of the remaining balance (The kid who assist us doesnt know “Paybright”) so the kid asked the Manager, Stefan to assist us, so He called Paybright and set up everything and we provided all the necessary documents needed. So everything went smoothly, we got approved but the payment will be sent to them by Paybright will take 24 hours to come and promise us that we will be getting the bike before last weekend (July 25,2020) so Stefan asked us to leave the bike again so we comply. (July 24,2020) We Called the shop to follow up our purchased, i talked to one of the employees and asked for Stefan personally, She said the Stefan si attending to a customer at that moment and He will call me back right after, NOBODY CALLED ME RIGHT AFTER. (July 27,2020) We tried to call again after a lot of unanswered calls finally i spoke to Stefan. He that said his boss havent check the emails yet from Paybright and he will check it and call me right after he is done with the customer around 10-15 mins same issue, NOBODY CALLED ME AGAIN.

We are tired of waiting and everything. We just want our deposit back and go to a different shop where they handle this kind of things better.

PS: My Aunt and Cousins got 3 bikes from different bike shop in Montreal with no hassle like this. Same installment plan.

Recently picked up my DOST eBike and can only say WOW! It was not only well worth the wait but BicyclesMcW kept me informed throughout the process wrt bike status, ETA and reason for OEM delays. In all honesty they cannot be blamed for things beyond their control. Seems to be the new normal during these crazy times. Dealing with Stephane (the Salesperson) and Jolibeth (the Mechanic) was also a delight. What really impressed me the most was when I received a call 2 weeks later asking me how things were, what I thought of the service and if there is anything that needs improving. Talk about excellent customer service. Would gladly recommend BicyclesMcW to others.

I'm honestly not sure how this shop has gotten the number of positive reviews it has. I understand that COVID is creating unique and not ideal situations for everyone, but that doesn't give you an excuse to treat potential customers with discourtesy.

I visited Bicycles McW near the beginning of July to purchase a bike. Like everywhere else, their inventory was depleted. The gentleman that helped me (and I use the terms "gentleman" and "helped" very loosely) walked me into the store when it was my turn, over to one single bicycle, and said "that's what I've got in your size, take it or leave it". When I expressed that it was the first shop I had visited and wanted to explore elsewhere as well (as the bike was $600), he told me that I wouldn't find anything. He didn't explain to me the features of the bike, why it merited a $600 price tag, nothing. And this guy is someone who appears to have been working there for a while, if he isn't the owner - you should know better!

Extremely unimpressed - and you can be sure I'll be sharing my experience with others (as I already have). Save your time and money and go somewhere that they care about their customers.

EDIT: Spoke with Salvatore, he again questioned the validity of my claim, and seemed to wonder why I wouldn't immediately speak to a manager in a place I felt unwelcome. Will not be supporting this business.

Un de mes amis a suggéré BicyclesMcW et demandé que je parle avec le propriétaire (Salvatore). Salvatore a passé 2 heures avec moi et m'a même fait essayer plusieurs modelés de vélos couchés de Catrike. Il était très patient avec moi, répondu à toutes mes questions et offert de faire la livraison chez moi. À la fin, il a même demandé comment j'ai trouvé le service à la clientèle! J'ai hâte de conduire mon nouveau CATRIKE 5.5.9. Je vais surement mettre un Kit de conversion électrique l'année prochaine. Demande toujours pour Salvatore.

Great professional customer service. Everyone friendly and willing to answer any question (I had many:). General atmosphere in the store was light and fun. Overall a good experience and I’m very happy with the purchase.

Update[19-Aug-2020]: I witnessed again the commitment of this business to customer service. They offered me a free tune-up within the first year of purchase, which I've used. For some reason the gear wasn't working well, but Robert (I assume the lead person in the service department) took care of me personally, on the spot, diagnosed the issue (bent derailer) and fixed it. Now the bike is tuned and running like a charm. I would like to give kudos to Robert for the super professional service, and thank the store for accommodating me. BTW I also bought a new pair for my son and he's super happy.

I do not understand people leaving negative reviews, with some even sounding fabricated. BicyclesMcW is truly the best bike shop in Montreal, eversince the 2 sons took over. I have been coming back here for years. Recently brought in my back that looked in bad shape and was told in needed a major repair and that it would cost me $250. My immediate raction was NO THANK YOU. What I did not realize was that the person that serviced me (Stephane) was simply being honest and let me know the repair costed more than the bike was worth, and that it was to my advantage to finally upgrade and get a new one. It just made perfect sense that I walked away with a 2020 Felt Verza Speed 50! Did I mention he took his time and allowed me to ask a 1000 questions and even test-ride. Upon entering the store, I was greeted and got to experience a mix of old and new school charm:)

For those leaving negative reviews, I recommend if you do not like something you speak to either the Store Manager or one of the Owners. It is always easy to complain about something, but it takes someone who really cares to communicate what they like or do not and offer suggestions. From experience, they are always there to help you and go above and beyond to turn a negative into a positive!

J'ai brisé le dérailleur de mon vélo et la mais le garanti était déjà échoué par 1 mois. J'ai appelé le magasin pour qu'ils vérifient si c'est encore en garantie mais ils ont vu que ce ne l'était plus. Parcontre, ils ont décidé de me mettre un nouveau dérailleur sans me charger plus et ils ne m'ont pas chargé pour l'installation, et je reviendrais ici dorénavant. Merci pour le beau service!

Très déçue.difficile d'avoir du service agréable et j'avais l'impression que mes questions énervaient l'employé. Je demandais seulement le prix pour un article. Je savais ce que je voulais et j'étais polie. Je ne sais pas si c'est parce que je parlais français, mais je le sentais énervée sans comprendre vraiment pourquoi. Pourtant il parlais très bien français mais j'avais l'impression que ça l'irritais. Ce n'était vraiment pas agréable. Par contre, l'employé en question m'as délégué à un autre de ses collègues qui lui était sympathique, mais malheureusement il ne m'as pas vraiment aidé. J'imagine qu'il m'as
délégué à un autre car il ne voulait plus m'aider. De plus, il y a eu des problèmes avec l'impression de ma facture, il ne m'as même pas regardé ni rien dit. J'attendais sans même savoir ce qui se passe. Je me suis sentie mal à l'aise tout le long et je regrette d'avoir acheté ici. J'aurais dû tout simplement quitter et acheter ailleurs. C'est clair que je ne reviens pas, sauf peut-être pour me faire rembourser.
