To start, the restaurant is very quaint so I gave it 2 stars for atmosphere. However, the placed us on the second floor and the radio was super static. I had to ask to turn it off. Next, the bathroom is a house bathroom and the toilet doesn’t flush properly. I tried to hold the handle for 2-3 seconds and still nothing. They also have their cleaning supplies hanging in the bathroom, which is odd.
The service was really not good. I am not sure if it’s because we were upstairs and only had 1 other table with us or maybe they are super understaffed. I’m not sure. But our coffee was cold, we had a dirty fork that we could never have replaced, and we had a very hard time getting refills or sugar etc.
The food was the worst part of this dining experience. We ordered 4 plates and the only 1 to have come as should be was the cheese omelet. I had a salmon bagel, it came with zero cream cheese almost, no tomatoes at all (which it advertises), the bagel was not toasted at all and the potatoes were cold. We asked the waitress for the waffle like in the picture (aux fruits) and got something completely different. There were no berries at all. It was all big chunks of melon. That is not at all what it looked like in the image. The 3rd plate was just eggs and sausage but the waitress never asked what toast we wanted so she brought white bread (by default) with butter in the centre of each slice and nowhere else. The coffee was not good either. It was cold and when we asked for coffee from downstairs, it was kind of laughed at. Then we put cream in 1 coffee and it was sour so we had to ask for a change. That was also kind of laughed at. She did it but with a “ok” attitude. We asked for water (1 with ice) she brings the water with no ice, so I remind her very nicely and she reply’s “we have None” umm ok. That’s fine but why wouldn’t you say that?
Now, we eat out for breakfast quite often so I would never complain for 1 issue here and there but this was not that. Every single thing was not good. I didn’t eat my salmon and that was 20$ +tx. Our bill totalled 84$ with tip and all the food was cold, not prepared as should have been, or just not good. This experience was very odd.

Super petite place mais 2 fois sur 3 on se présente pour aller déjeuner selon les heures affichées mais à chaque fois c'est fermé, dommage.

The service was friendly but very slow. It took over an hour to get our plates and the restaurant was not very busy. After waiting an hour one of our plates was the wrong dish.

WoW! Super restaurant! La nourriture est délicieuse, les aliments sont frais et le service est attentif et rapide! Quel magnifique restaurant chaleureux. Je recommande à tous!

Great breakfast but it was not hot enough. Very nice atmosphere and staff. Would definitely go back. Loved the maison ancestrale.

ATTENTION VÉRIFIER VOS FACTURES ils chargent des choses qui sont supposés être inclus avec le repas, la serveuse nous a offert du pain ménage mais à omis de dire que c’était un extra $1.25 de plus pis nous a chargé pour les cretons (qui sont indiqués comme inclus sur le menu) et à même a voulu charger pour les rôtis (toasts) mais il a fallu dire non!
La nourriture est toujours aussi excellent par contre et on va continuer à y aller car on est des clients fidèles de plus de 10 ans, on a toujours apprécié ce restaurant! Mais là on a été très, très déçu du service et la facture ce dernier visite! On dirait qu’ils deviennent gratteux et chiche: - (

Suite à cette réponse à mon premier commentaire je suis vraiment soulagé de savoir que ce resto a un proprio qui est à son affaire et qui se préoccupe de ces clients et de ce qu’ils pensent! C’est bien rafraîchissant!
Nous sommes vraiment content de savoir que Le Bistro 1909 est toujours à la hauteur de nos attentes, c’est certain que nous allons retourner pour déguster un autre repas succulent en espérant que toute ailles bien cette fois! ;-) je suis toujours prêt à donné un autre chance surtout puisque c’était la seule fois qu’on a eu une mauvaise expérience

Le restaurant Le Carré Vert de Mireille (Geneviève Brouillette) de l'excellent téléroman 5e Rang! De nombreuses scènes y sont tournées. Très bel endroit!
