Absolute best Japanese restaurant I have ever tried in 30+ years…. Incredibly fresh and delicious fish, try the hamachi, uni, sake or scallop and you will never be able to eat sushi anywhere else

Hidden gem. Run and owned by local Japanese family. A neighborhood hood restaurant. While not an extensive sushi list what they do serve is first and foremost fresh, affordable, good quality sushi. The "must tries" here are when you try the daily specials and their authentic Japanese tapas style menu listings: spinach, burdock root, agadashi eggplant, chicken balls, torched salmon to name a few. The non sushi menu items are scrumptious making this place enjoyable for all. Easy parking. Casual and affordable. Family, date night or get together for whatever the occasion.

Really authentic Japanese food. The kind of food you want like going to Tokyo. The ten don is amazing & try hamachikama. It’s the best in this place. Don’t forget Tsukune with Asahi. You will love it. Very generous portion, too.

Great food, great service, very affordable. Only took 1 star off because the restaurant part needs alot of improvement. I suspect they kind of just transition to take out/delivery so the restaurant is not really a focus for them.

Sushi is great and soups are very good. Staff is always great. They know my order even before I ordered it.

The best quality-price deal for REAL japanese food, found in Montreal. Dinner time is already a killer, but Lunch time still manages to blow my mind. Try their Lunch special Bento, you cannot be dissapointed.

Had a fantastic experience here with my kids. The food came rapidly and the customer service is just awesome. Prices are fair.

Best Ramen I've had in Montreal! Absolutely delicious! I had no idea LaSalle had a gem like this until now. Will definitely come back to satisfy my cravings.

We just discovered this place through Uber eats. Omg DELICIOUS food. Edamame and ramen were the best we ever had. The sushi were fresh and tasty. We will definitely become regulars there.

I was so thrilled to find out that Bistro Izakaya re-opened in LaSalle! I went here often back in the day when it was on Parc & I have to say I like the new location (with free parking!) & airy ambiance. I went here for lunch & having the teishoku lunch special brought back the delicious tastes from the past!

This is honestly the best japanese restaurant in Montreal. So fresh, great quality, great service, soooo worth it.

I live in Lasalle and I tried the Isakaya restaurant for the first time. What a great surprise. The food was delicious and fresh (I've tried at least 12 japanese's restaurants in Montreal and only 3 of them I can say that the food is fresh. Isakaya is one of them). If you love japanese food, that's the place to go. I've tried two combos so far and I'm going back next week:) Paulo

Really good authentic Japanese gastronomy.
Prices are very fair and portions are generous. The food is very fresh and beautifully presented.
Lunch specials for $16 (soup, salad, main and ice cream) are a bargain and are very satisfying.
Used to go when they were on Parc ave and it's still as good as I remembered since my last visit 10 years ago.

We were delighted to hear that Shigeo Minagawa had finally opened a new restaurant after having to abandon his long time place on Park Avenue when his lease expired and his rent was due to skyrocket. We had been going there a couple of times a month for almost 20 years. His new place is similarly unpretentious and still serves generous slices of immaculate, flavorful fish over impeccable rice. It's the closest we have in Montreal to a neighborhood izakaya in Tokyo (except for the lack of real wasabi). Side dishes are consistently satisfying (fried burdock root will make you forget about French fries). Everything is as it should be.

Everything is great, the food, the service and the fish is super fresh. We always go there before go ing to the movies:)

Went there for the first time and I saw many interesting items on the menu. The spinach with Japanese mushrooms and fried chicken were wonderful. I will certainly return to further explore their menu.

Tonight, I had an amazing taste of the wonderful dishes at this restaurant. The food that we ordered were all good. I have to admit that my favourite dish was the sole. The delicate sole full of flavour reminds me of a steam fish. Every dish has its own unique flavour and well balanced. I would say that they had successfully created their umami taste:) I would certainly go back there!

Finally Bistro Isakaya as back. We missed the great food when the Parc Avenue location closed and were excited to try the new location in La Salle. SAME GREAT Japanese Bistro food! Don't hesitate to try anything. Our favorite is the Black Cod! Great to also never have to worry about parking again. We will be back. Don't hesitate giving this place a try!

I'm glad I decide to try this Japanese restaurant, the sushi were good but all the cooked meals were even better. Service was fast and friendly. It will become my go to Japanese place in Montréal. A+

A really nice addition to Lasalle's restaurant scene! Just came back and really enjoyed it. The food was great - Sashimi was well portioned and melt in your mouth fresh, udon noodles were a refreshing change (not too salty), and the grilled calamari was excellent! If you're feeling adventurous, try the black sesame ice cream. We had that and the green tea ice cream, both were great. The service and chef team were very good and friendly.

Restaurant authentique japonais. Les plats sont originaux et succulents. La spécialité est vraiment dans les sauces! J’adore cette endroit!
