Bocadillo

Ordered a burger that was one of the best ever in my life.
That night they were short-staffed, so service was under par as a result.
Staff that was there worked hard to compensate as much as they could.

My Colombian friend made me discover this fantastic place. Delicious authentic arepas that hit the spot just right. It's also pretty cheap and will fill you up! I enjoyed the plantain, avocado and cheese arepas with a parchita drink (very refreshing!). I will definitely be coming back with friends.

A wonderful find on a cold winter afternoon.

The area boasts many authentic latino spots, and Bocadillo does not disappoint.

Looking around I see 95% latinos which provides evidence on their authentic (or close to) offering.

Also noted they are a music venue some nights which would be much fun.

I love this restaurant’s food but refuse to return from the service last time. The man who operated the cash was extremely rude and charged us things we didn’t even take. When confronted about them he argued about what we actually consumed… from the moment we walked in he was not welcoming or friendly. Not the type of person that should be working in a restaurant. Sadly won’t be returning even though the food is great

La nourriture était délicieuse sauf que, personnellement, je n'aime pas les verres en plastique, mais je crois que c'est pour recréer un vrai endroit vénézuélien. Service rapide et efficace

Their yuca balls (bunuelos) taste like fried calamari with the best fluffy but dense doughy texture. And this was the best arepa I’ve ever had (lentil pulled carrot bbq with avo plantain and tomato) and my friend got the other vegan one at the top left (La Vegana) and loved it. I took some other things to go like the yuca frites, platano queso and teq especial (cheese fingers with guava). They use bagasse packaging which is the most eco friendly option! Presque 20$ pour un sandwich au pain sec et j'ai encore faim après. Le coût réel est surrement de 4$. Allez plutôt à Patati Patata au bout de la rue: vous aurez 2x plus pour 2x moins cher qualité égale. ça m'a presque fais oublier que j'ai attendu 30 min

As Venezuelan I have to say that Bocadillos is an amazing spot to eat venezuelan food at any point in the day or night. My always favorites will be the tequeños and empanadas. I had the passion fruit juice and it was perfectly crafted. Love the ambiance. Feels like home!

Omg. The best burger I have ever had. It had everything on it, enough for two meals. The caramelized onions cheddar cheese, bacon, Avocado on the best grilled bun. Hats off to you.

Expensive, bad service and food is not so tasty. I just keep coming back because they have some unique plates and they open later than other Venezuelan/Latino restaurants.
Every time I go I get treated with rush. Last time the server said: “be thankful that I even take your order, and it will be for takeout” when I ordered something 30 min before closing time.

Great arepa, large and tasty. The empanadas were quite good, though the cheese was a bit too salty.

This my first real Venezuelan food, i had that huge sandwich like a burger with fried yams, it was delicious and tasty.the yams were like the sweet potato, i loved the most the way how the plate is presented, the waitress said its the venezuelan traditions, anyway it's an amazing experience, we loved it and for sure recommend it

Even after telling them that i am allergic to eggs, they gave me some sauce with Mayo. I puked all the way to home. Taste wasn’t great. It was okay

Delicious arepas, very cute back patio (terrasse) and friendly staff. Went there later at night and the place had great music playing adding to the ambiance. Worth checking out if you are hungry and out for a late night walk.

The guys not rude but not kind. The food good but not special. The price good for the location but I found expensive for the experience. They never bring me the sauce I asked. Nice terrace

The arepa has good architecture but lacks some flare. Would be served best with some form of hot sauce. The yuca fries are fun but quite starchy, the smaller pieces being superior to the larger ones.

I've visited this restaurant twice, both times after 9pm but before 10, in order to pick up arepas and both times they say they are already closing and can only do deep fried items so I leve with plantain instead. Their fried plantain is very good, but it's no arepa. I'll update the rating when I've tried the main meal.

There's no paradise without arepas. These guys simply do arepas right. The arepa I ordered had adbocado, meat, plantain, beans and cheese on it and it was stuffed. Almost too much for one person to finish. I'm really glad I found such a great arepa spot in Montreal.

Arepas are naturally gluten-free so if you're looking for a great gluten free bite to eat, make sure to stop by Bocadillo.

Tasty food but the person at the cashier was very rude. Canceled my transaction while I was paying for my lunch and told me to tip, then insulted me saying, "I don't know where you're from. ".

Nothing about the service or setting deserved a tip, the waiter only brought our food out nothing else. We had to order at the front and go back to pay later, get our own water, and ask for a box multiple times.etc. Really disappointed with the experience

We got the special arepa, which was fully packed with beans, plantains, shredded beef, avocado, cheese. It was really large arepa, you have to have a knack to eat without making a mess. You order at the front and you can grab a seat, they have a cute little area at the back. It’s a tad bit expensive, but worth trying some flavorful Venezuelan food here.

$17 CAD for their famous Arepas to go. Tasted good but I think getting a Schwartz’s Montreal smoked meat sandwich for $13 one street down might be more tasty for me. Hey, it’s up to what you want haha!

Food is good butexpensive for what it is.
We arrived at 9: 15pm yesterday, they close at 10: 00pm. The guy who greeted us was almost kicking us outside, saying not to stay for long cause some people stay until late and they close at 10. Not sure that's a nice way to welcome new customers but okay. There was at least 15 other people in the restaurant, already sitting and eating.
We left before their closing time. No smile, no thank you. Very cold staff.

The arepas here are out of this world! Many options available. Really yummy. Good service, too. Not that it even matters once you taste their food! Tip: opt to eat outdoors in the backyard terrace section.

Got the classic famous arepa. Really good and stuffed to the brim. The sweetness from the plantains got overwhelming after a few bites, though. There’s a nice vibey back patio.

Amazing arepas - wide selection with vegetarian and vegan options, nice terrace out back. It's the kind of place you want to go back to.

Went here a few days ago because we were craving this cuisine and our usual place was closed. What a pleasant surprise! Delicious food, generous portions, good prices, and great service. Terrific little terrasse hidden away in the back. Definitely coming back next time I am in Montreal.

The gentleman who runs the place isn’t nice to customers or workers. He’s very abrasive when he speaks! Although the cook was a mess and should be either trained or fired. This place was the best around and has gone down hill over the last 2.5 years.
