Vincent was great. Very welcoming in explaining Montreal tourist attractions to us and very talented.

The music was so incredibly loud but the dj was fantastic.
The Scotch selection was super thorough but it felt like the American whiskeys were lacking. That might just be because it's my preference.

The mixed drinks really seem like the star of the show and the food was also pretty great.

By far the best cocktail experience I've ever had! I was served by Chris who was very friendly and quite knowledgeable. I'll definitely be back. Loved the Sunday jazz vibe!

Expérience vraiment pauvre. Bière flat, 2 ti punch commende en même temps, le premier reçu après 25 min et le deuxième reçu 8 min après. Salle vide, serveur donnant des excuses bidon au sujet de la bière fiant que c est la bière qui est comme ça. Désolé mais non non et non.

Great whiskey bar with knowledgeable and friendly staff, a cool atmosphere especially when the jazz band starts playing and a beautiful decor! Recommend!

Absolutely huge drink selection, and very well made drinks. Very mellow and chill atmosphere to sit and talk and enjoy drinks. Very good service and you’ll wanna try each drink on the menu.

Watching the mixologists do their thing was so cool. Drinks were delish and the chicken burger was so yummy.

Pinte de bière très cher pour la cheval blanc (14$). Sur le menu la pinte est l'équivalent d'un verre et la botte est l'équivalent d'une pinte. La nourriture est cher est servie froide, du moins pour le burger et la frite. Par contre les cocktails sont très bon.

Great drinks and great atmosphere, even getting flaked on by our friend didn’t ruin the night. The live jazz was great and the staff are all extremely friendly and amazing people to chat with when they aren’t too busy. Only thing I would want more of is that milk punch recipe

Very nice vibe. The drinks are great, they have mostly specials. The food is full of flavor and well plated. Try the cheese board! Porto jelly is my new favourite.

On a découvert cet endroit vendredi mon besty et moi par hasard, mais quel joyau qu'on a trouvé! Nous y sommes retourner dimanche pour manger des huîtres et quel agréable soirée! Le décore est resplendissant. La musique est excellente! Le menu est simple comme j'aime et la nourriture délicieuse. Et que dire de nôtre serveuse, Ève? Elle est tout simplement géniale, souriante et surtout patiente et courtoise. Bref, elle est excellente dans son travail. Je suis capricieuse et Bootlegger m'a comblée sur tous les fronts! Merci à toute l'équipe.

Wonderful ambiance and delicious cocktails. My friends and I actually stopped here after having an underwhelming experience at another bar down the street. This place really exceeded our expectations. The cocktails were so much better than most of the other bars we went to. The food we ordered was delicious too! And our server was lovely and very good at her job despite it being her first day.

Very cool atmosphere, service was great and they had live music. Definitely worth while checking out. Cocktails were about $20 each

Première fois au Bootlegger. Bel endroit, avec une ambiance «cozy» et très agréable. Plats à partager délicieux avec de bonne portion. La dégustation des whisky excellente. Une belle soirée.:)

This place specializes in whisky tasting. I am surprised by the collection of whiskeys they had. Interesting to know that the almost every country has their own whisky. Laurence was knowledgeable and taught us how to taste whisky. The food was decent.

Excellent endroit. On ne se sent pas comme des clients, mais bien commes des invités. Je recommande chaleureusement.

Best cocktail bar in town! Love the prohibition style decoration, the staff were lovely (special thank you to Laurence and Christ!) and the drinks have great presentation.

J'espère que les jeudis aux soirées de jam improvisé sont toujours demise, là où quiconque peut s'ajouter au spectacle qu'offrait ce bar.

Excellent bar with delicious, reasonably priced drinks and a great ambience. Laurence, our waitress, was so much fun and the best waitstaff we had in Montréal!

Wide selection of whiskey. $1 oysters on Sunday. Our server (blonde woman, sorry do not recall name) was great and very accommodating.

Nous avons adoré notre expérience. Le service de Tristan était impeccable, il était à l'écoute et nous a bien suggéré. Les cocktails étaient excellents également. Nous reviendrons c'est certain.

The best date night in Canada

The finest whiskey selection I have ever witnessed, Fresh PEI oysters, succulent duck foie gras all paired with world class live Jazz in a beautifully adorned room with incredible ambiance.

But the true star was the hospitality and service received from the incomparable Laurence. So much care and attention offered along with being a patient guide and advisor for two novice whiskey tasters. Laurence made us feel both like royalty and old friends all at once.

Looking forward to our next visit!

A cocktail bar worthy of a visit when you're in town. Extensive collection of whiskey. Lovely staff and great food.

We made a reservation. Had to wait 30mins in the lobby (which was full of people who also made reservations). When we asked if they were going to ask the people who had our table to leave as the next reservation was waiting, the host asked us if we were from Quebec in a very condesending way and said "this is not something we do here". LOL. (I am from Quebec, they do this here)

Don't expect to obtain a seat at this place even if you reserved online prior. We had made a reservation for 10pm and it seemed like everybody else in the line we talked too did as well who all left in the end. The host who was working on Saturday told us that he had no idea how long it would take for us to get our table and was extremely rude by asking if we were not Quebecers (which by the way we've all been living here all our life). I'm not even sure why this question is relevant because busy restaurants in Montreal would typically hold your table for 2 hours and you would have to make space for the next table who reserved after. This is standard folks! If you don't give a table to people who reserved on time, then don't let people reserve at all! I don't recommend this place at all!

Cherchant un bar à whisky sans chercher, cette place est exactement ce que j’aime. Une ambiance jazz et tamisée mais surtout, un bartender hallucinant pour ses connaissances des whiskys d’abord, des cocktails ensuite et plus généralement des alcools. Un artiste amoureux de mixology, un créateur à l’écoute de sa clientèle, serviable et disponible. À découvrir encore et encore afin de découvrir et d’apprendre.
Une notation pour les délicieux plats aux produits frais du Québec.
Bref une expérience riche et passionnante! Merci à tout le staff pour cette belle soirée!

Unfortunately I have to give this place 1 star, simply because we weren't able to be seated at all despite having a reservation. 2 groups ahead of us decided to leave after waiting over half an hour. The host let us know that only tables of 2s were available and let couples in before groups who have been waiting and were willing to wait that long only because it's impossible to get a table anywhere else on short notice these days. Which is why took the time to make reservations at all! I had hoped they would consolidate all the tables of 2s, then they would have been able to accomodate a larger group.

Superbe endroit. La qualité des cocktails, du service est. La sélection de spiritueux est impressionnante et d’avoir un barman qualifié, passionné qui nous fait un historique sur les produits qu’on boit c’est un gros plus! Notre barman Christ nous a reçu comme des rois.
C’est une expérience à vivre.
En espérant voir des spectacles bientot assis à ce bar quand les mesures sanitaires le permettrons.

One of the best place in Montréal! Highly recommend it if you like cocktails, whisky and a good ambience. Found my new favorite cocktail. The Gimlet! The staff was great and made me feel at home! Definitely going back there.

Just throwing y'all some love because I visited a while back and it was great! I want you to reopen lol — I'm back in Montreal until Sept 7th and was hoping to visit. Hopefully next time! <3 The staff are wonderful and the music is awesome.:)
