I find this place enchanting and a breath of fresh air.

Swing by grab a pastry and spend a little time soaking in the energy. A soothing experience.

Croissant was so buttery and was crispy. I really liked how buttery and rich it was. Maybe others will find this as a con.
As for the sour dough it was really good and it tasted perfect!

Le local n'a aucun charme. Les filles ne savent même pas préparer un capuccino, Elles te donnent un croissant jambon fromage sans le réchauffer. Je ne reviendrai pas.

Wonderful croissants and other treats and baguettes. Consistent and friendly staff. Coffee too!

We tried butter croissant, chocolate scone and a moccachino. Bakery items were great! The coffee was average.

A chaque fois que nous voulons venir acheter des viennoiseries chez Fred. Nous regardons sur Google si c est bien ouvert et nous arrivons devant et c est fermé! Et aujourd’hui compris. Ce n est pas compliqué de noter sur Google la fermeture. Et ça évite aux gens qui viennent de loin de se déplacer pour rien!

I ordered two bags of chouquette (20) and only received one. It is very disappointing to spend your hard earned money on two items and only receive one. While the chouquettes were amazing I can’t give more than one stars since I only received half of my order.
Beware if you order online you may only receive part of your order.

After reading about this boulangerie on Google, I thought I'd give it a try, as I would be in the neighborhood. I bought some croissants, choclatines, viennoiseres and bread to share with my friends. Croissants had a great flaky crust and a buttery, doughy and chewy consistency. Not quite the flaky, buttery layers of dough that I usually get in Paris, but equally enjoyable in another sense. The choclatine dough had similar qualities, and it compared quite favorably to another of my favorite Montréal bakeries. I gave away all the rest, so I'll have to await feedback from the recipients. So far, I'm impressed and will likely be spoiling some more friends with treats in which they wouldn't otherwise indulge.

Great place. I went there to buy coffee after a long day with the kids. Honestly, the Barista there knows what she was doing. Weighed the coffee. Tamped it down correctly. Coffee was very very tasty. Love this bakery, we have been shopping there in the past 4 years.
There is also a delicious latte, a few tables and Wi-Fi. Great place to work or meet with a friend.

A nice, cozy place to sit down with a good cup of coffee and a freshly baked croissant.

I've been on a quest for the best croissants in Montreal and Fred's are close to perfection. Inside and out. Perfect crust. Perfect puff. Their baguette was wonderful, too. Go Fred!

Very likely the best croissant in montreal. But the quality isn't consistent. Out of 10 times, maybe once, the taste isn't their usual buttery flaky signature taste - once it was dry, and not as buttery, maybe too long in the oven? The other 9/10 times are simply amazing, no other place is quite like it - SUPER BUTTERY.

Best baguette EVER! Their croissants & chocolatines are heavenly. If going at lunch time definitely grab one of their sandwiches. I recommend 100%

We all know that their croissants are divine. But try their brownie. Omg! Omg! Decadent and oh so rich! You will not be disappointed.

Very good authentic French bakery. They make really good pattes d'ours (bear claws). There's been some inconsistency in the past few months on certain things (i.e. The egg wash was so strong on one of my orders that half the people had to remove to outer layer of their baked goods to eat them). This shouldn't stop you from stopping by there. It's still solidly in my top 5 French bakeries in the 514.

Not to be mean but probably one of the worst croissants I’ve ever had. I had a chocolatine, And the chocolate wasn’t well placed so the proportion of croissants to chocolate was kind of off. It honestly tasted like they forgot to add butter in it and really didn’t taste like much would not recommend for the pastries I didn’t get to try the bread, it did look and smell good, but yeah the pastries just not it.

Always excellent. A best kept secret in this corner of Westmount. AAND! Their pricing is very reasonable by any measure, but certainly for the quality of their breads.
