We loved Breizh cafe, the food was Incredible! They have a great authentic menu, a warm and cozy ambiance and the prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be back soon!
Decided to stop here for a coffee and then saw how good the crepes looked and got those as well. Very fast service great cappuccino and lattes and delicious crepes
Very enjoyable lunch for we two who were in Montréal for our first time from Michigan. Delicious crepes in generous portion and very friendly service, a place that was full at lunch and clearly popular with the locals. We didn’t have a reservation but it might be a good idea to call ahead, the room is tight. They speak English ou parlent le Français, c’est comme vous voulez. If you want to get up into one of the happening neighborhoods where the local Montréalais live and shop, make this place your starting point for your Le Plateau neighborhood look around. BTW, it’s just about a block away from la Vielle Europe Épicerie where we bought excellent Québécois cheeses. Merci beaucoup aux gens accueillants du Breizh Café for your part in our very enjoyable visit to Montréal. We’ll be sure to see you again.
Understaffed - much too slow. One person in the kitchen, not busy when we arrived. 1 hour for the first course to arrive. We had to leave before dessert arrived. They knew why - and charged for it nonetheless. Put a damper on a nice afternoon. A shame, nice staff, nice ambience, good crepes.
It was very Ok. I know that the crepes are glute free and brown but they were very bland, nothing like a real crepe. Service was fine but for the price paid I was expecting something more flavourful
The cook knows hot to make galettes and crêpes, not how to fill them. Very disappointed by the poor quality ingredients and dosage of the filling. Tasteless tomatoes, way too many of it (had the feeling of getting a tomato pie), subpar cheese, boring onions, not a pinch of salad. And way too much lemon juice in my crêpes, à lemon+sugar crêpes is just supposed to make the crêpe better, not to hide its taste entirely…
Very fast service and very delicious crepes! A bonus is that the take out packaging comes with super cute, hand drawn designs to indicate what the food item is! The savory crepes are also quite filling— the ham and Swiss one was amazing.
Wanted crepes in Montreal, and Breizh did not disappoint. Delicious savoury and sweet crepes. Good service. Definitely plan to return when we back in town. Great part of town with murals and other highly recommended eateries.
6.5/10: During my stay in Montreal, I ate at Breizh café twice. The first time, I was quite impressed with the food. Breizh café has a course menu where I can choose a starter, savory, and sweet crepe for $27. I ordered the soup du jour, which was a parsnip vegetable soup, the smoked salmon, swiss cheese, and spinach crepe, and the Belgian chocolate crepe. The soup du jour was hearty and flavorful. It was hands down one of the best vegetable soups I’ve had. The smoked salmon, swiss, and spinach crepe came in a buckwheat crepe, which had a good texture to it. Lastly, the Belgian chocolate crepe was quite sweet and rich for my liking, but the first few bites were still enjoyable. Because of my enjoyable first experience, I decided to go back a second time. This time, the restaurant was busy and looked heavily understaffed. It was a Saturday so I was confused as to why it was understaffed. That being said, I waited for 20 minutes before I had my order taken. When our waiter finally came, I ordered the French Onion Soup, the tomato and goat cheese crepe, and the apple cinnamon dessert crepe. Then I waited 30 minutes for the French onion soup alone, 40 more minutes for the savory crepe and another 30 more minutes for the dessert crepe following the savory crepe. In addition, our waiter never cared to check on our table and just ignored us every time he walked past. Regarding the food, the French onion soup was salty and watery but bland in terms of flavor from the beef stock and onions. It was one of the more mediocre French onion soups I’ve had, and I’d expect much better from a creperie in Montreal. The tomato and goat cheese buckwheat crepe was bland, dry and cold, as if it was sitting in the pass for an extended period of time, and the apple cinnamon crepe also came cold. Overall, my second visit to Breizh café consisted of long wait times and inconsistent food, and thus was a major disappointment. It was evident that the restaurant being understaffed on a Saturday affected both customer service and quality control.
