Bui Optométriste

This is the first time I've left a negative review for a business but I feel I have to do this to help other people.

In January of this year I came to BUI to seek help and treatment with a dry eye situation. Oh how I wish I hadn't. The optometrist (whom I do believe genuinely means well) decided to squeeze my eyelids without first doing any form of heating to help the oils come out. This caused inflammation and damage to my eyelid that 5 months later I am still trying to fix. Every other doctor I have spoken to has said she made a mistake. I immediately went to the hospital and followed their advice on what to do to try to fix it.

I later saw the opthamologist at the same business to ask his advice on how to fix the damage that they had caused. He laughed at me, told me to eat vegetables and then managed to hit me in the eye with his prism.

If you have a dry eye situation then I would strongly advise against going here.

It will be challenging to find the right words to describe the excellence this optometrist provided me.

They have taken care of my eye needs here for the last six years. From solving my blepharitis problem and giving me the right medicine, to perfect eye exams, to fitting me with both glasses and sunglasses; they have been flat out perfect.

But where they have really stood out was on the last visit in April of 2023. They forgave me for a giant error that I made and was my fault.

They did not have to be so kind and I certainly would have understood if I had to take responsibility for the mistake I made. They could have easily have said simply I am sorry but this was your error and not ours.

What they did instead was find solutions. Solutions that meant more labour for them, and labour is cost.

They did it all for me, so I could leave with a huge smile on my face, to go with a perfect pair of sunglasses for me.

Yo will not get this type of service from a chain, or a box store. You simply are not getting this type of care that Bui Optometriste provided. Thank you, Sophie and everyone.

Get the care that you deserve. They are the only two eyes you have. Put your vision into the hands of true professionals.

I have always had a great experience here. The staff and the optometrists have always been really great and helpful. Super kind

Very unprofessional staff. They bring excuse for me not speaking French and made mistakes three times, but speak fluently english and understand it 100%. I ordered lenses, but after two weeks waiting and my follow up call, I found out they did not do any thing. They put the order again and did not cut as they promised. After I called for the third times I noticed they cut my lenses a frame with out calling me or my approval. I even did not choose any frame at all!

The staff are friendly, but the optometrist is very unfriendly and arrogant. There, after my daughter had an eye exam, she had conjunctivitis. The inspection tool seems to be unsanitary. Moreover, the optometrist speaks without looking at the person. Meeting the optometrist was a very unpleasant experience.

- Yes. I think that optometrist is really arrogant and offensive. You put yourself in my place. When I asked something, she looked at me like a worm and took a step back. I was wearing a mask. The optometrist probably wouldn't overact in front of you like that.

J’ai eu un magnifique service. J’y suis allée pour moi et pour ma fille de 3 ans. Après 10 ans au même optométriste, j’ai décidé de changer car je ne travaille plus au même endroit alors j’ai opté pour un endroit proche de la maison. L’optométriste Dr Spiro est une perle. Il a été d’une gentillesse et d’une douceur avec ma fille. Ma fille a même parlé de lui toute la journée aujourd’hui Il a pris le temps de très bien m’expliquer et d’une magnifique patience (il a fait mon examen après avoir fait celui de ma fille). L’employée qui m’a accueillie, Zara, et qui a continué avec moi pour les lunettes. Même chose. D’une superbe gentillesse, patiente, qui prend son temps. Bref, je suis très contente d’avoir changé d’optométristes, je ne regrette nullement mon choix et je recommande fortement autant pour les adultes que pour les enfants! Merci!

J'ai reçu un excellent service. L'opticienne Manon m'a très bien conseillé. L'optométriste m'a suggéré des goûtes lubrifiantes de qualité et je n'ai plus l'impression d'avoir les yeux secs, contrairement à toutes les autres goûtes que j'ai essayé dans le passé. C'est une clinique très professionnelle que je recommande fortement!

Très bons services d'optométrie dans le Sud-Ouest de Montréal. Cet optométriste est situé à deux pas de Pointe Saint Charles et de Griffintown, à côté du marché Atwater. Il offre un très bon choix de lunettes de vue et de soleil.

Edit: Not only was it a bad experience when I went to pick up my glasses they just shoved them to me outside as if I were a dog, while other people were actually allowed to go in to pick their glasses, I had to call the optometrist association so they would fix my glasses since how they deliver them to me were not functioning and required adjusting.
Called a day after I ordered my glasses to cancel, even tho it was in the listed hours they have as opened they didn't answer, I wanted to cancel my order because due to the Covid lockdown I will be out of a job for another 2 months and won't be able to afford new glasses at the moment, they told me it was too late that they were already in production, originally they said it would take 2 weeks to give me my glasses, so I'm supposed to believe they take 2 weeks to make them? What a way to support people during this time of need.

Produit de première qualité, servi part Manon, elle est très professionnel et expérimenté ma offert plusieurs choix et a prit le temps d’écouter mon besoin et ma recherche unique.

Encore aujourd’hui je retournerait pour m’offrir une autre service exceptionnel dans un endroit distingué.

I was given the wrong prescription and then charged another 40 dollars to fix it. This was somewhat disappointing.

Nice glasses, but horrible service. I’ve been several times and they don’t acknowledge you when you walk in and you feel like you’re bothering them when you ask to see a pair of glasses. They don’t give you any advice on the glasses you’re trying. I went out of the way to find the glasses I wanted somewhere else.

Très belle sélection de lunettes avec plusieurs collections que je n'avais pas vu ailleurs! J'ai eu un bel accueil et le meilleur service de cette équipe malgré l'achalandage. L'opticienne m'a bien conseillé à travers les collections et les différentes qualités. Leur professionnalisme inspire confiance. Quelle surprise d'y trouver des lunettes à 130$ et d'autres grandes marques raffinées. Je recommande cet endroit pour faire un choix éclairé et sans pression.

Terrible service. Posh unhelpful people that barely look up when you walk in. All the glasses are in locked cabinets so unless someone assists you, which was a bother to them, you won't try anything on

Totally uninterested sales representatives. The fancy store is not enough for me to spend more money, compared to elsewhere, when the quality of service is absent.

Went to get a screw from my glasses screwed in a while ago and the optometrist a was so welcoming and friendly I'll recommend Bui for anything either glasses, accessories etc.

Chui allé visser un vis pour mes lunettes ya pa longtemps et l'optométriste était super accueillant et amical. Je recommendrai Bui pour tout, soit des lunettes, des accessoires etc
