This is not a rate for the ice cream but for the service.
I recently visited another ca lem branch and i actually left a 5 star review.
Well, in this branch, the lady didn’t let us taste anything because it isn’t sustainable to use extra plastic spoons lmao
I didn’t know i had to take the sustainability approach to save the business instead of the business procuring composable spoons
When i told her “but the other branches do tasting”, she just looked at my face.

We had high hopes for our Asian fellas! Unfortunately, like many other artisanal ice cream shops, the hard scoops are far from « hard ». Felt more like a soft-serve rolled into a ball. The vietnamese coffee flavor was good, the HK milk tea didn’t taste like HK milk tea, the Rabbit toffee was grainy. AND all flavours were too sweet… maybe it’s just our Asian palate that are not used to sweet stuff… Sad.

Très bonne expérience. La caissière était souriante et a donné une excellent service. Le goût des glaces était très bonne. Seul point négatif a mes yeux, c'est un peu élevé comme prix 30$ pour 4 cornets, mais le goût en vaut la peine.

Very lucky to have a location of CA LEM in little burgundy / saint henri! I wish for their sake that they had better signage during after-hours of Atwater Market - often times I forget this option exists for ice cream during the evening.

I had black sesame and pandan flavour. The black sesame was delicious and had a stretch when we pulled up. The pandan was okay, it tasted more like coconut.

Bad service at this location. Ridiculous that they don’t give tastes of the hard ice cream. Person was very rude about it.

This place has amazing ice cream and sorbet! Different flavours than the typical ice cream shops, so it is very fun to discover and taste everything. They also have a new flavour of soft ice cream every week. Their prices are very affordable for the quality and the size is perfect! Also it is lactose free.

I tried a Mango Sorbet and a Pandan-Coco scoop on a cone and, it was nice and refreshing.

I hate grapefruit. They made a soft serve swirl with vanilla and grapefruit. I love grapefruit now?

I don't get the hype around this ice cream! Every time I try a new flavour, i get disappointed. Their Nutella flavour doesn't taste like Nutella, their café Viet doesn't taste like the real café Viet, their maple syrup tastes like burnt caramel. I even tried the citrus Yuzu and mango.always dissapointed

Yum! Had the viet café and choco noir. Tasted intense but also light, considering I had two scoops!

This branch of CA LEM just opened up in Atwater Market and is open air and plenty of places nearby to enjoy the delicious ice cream. We tried out the Viet café, dark chocolate, Pandan coco, and taro flavours. They were all super delicious and the dark chocolate especially rich in flavour. If I had to pick favourites, I'd say the Pandan coco. Its favour evolves as you're tasting it with a very coconutty finish. The Viet coffee was just like a Vietnamese style coffee in ice cream form! Yum!

I've been told they are popular for their soft serve cones, with the flavours changing weekly in Wednesdays. Unfortunately, the machine was our of order today, but we'll be back to try it out.

Delicious as always! Less flavour options but still so happy I ablle to get some next to the water!
