Depuis des années le café nous servent d'excellent choix de café. Sandwich et encore plus. Service rapide et beaucoup d'espace assises. Stationnement est un peut plus complexe mais prévoir marché quelques coins de rue.

Went there by reading the article Top 11 place makes bomb ice coffees but apparently it's nothing special. Same like the tim hortons or mc d or starbucks.
But owner is ice. Place is good to sit.
$7 for ice coffee.lol

Old school Classic Italian cafe. Everything on the menu is good and made fresh. Never disappoints any time of day.

Great cozy Italian restaurant. They offer great sandwiches, salads, and delicious coffee at an affordable price. Service was friendly and quick!

Came with the twin sis to try out this café. Honestly, great service. Cappuccinos were on point. We shared a chicken sandwich and had some yummy cannolis. The waiter then offered us their home made ice tea. Hands down THE best ice tea we've tasted. I am definitely going back to try other stuff on their menu. Thank you guys for a lovely experience:)

I ordered there for lunch several times and they have a huge variety of sandwiches. Every single one I tried was amazing. Their home made ice tea is amazing as well.

I was really craving a steak sandwich of some kind. Came across this place on uber eats. THIS SANDWICH ROCKED NY WORLD! Seriously sooooo delicious! Best sandwich I can remember ever having and the arugula salad was a perfect side. Definitely will be eaten there again soon.

Les sandwich Poulet frit sont les meilleurs que je n'ai jamais mangé, le monsieur au comptoir est super gentil et honnête sur les recommandations alimentaire.

Fast efficient and tastes great! You can absolutely tell that they've been doing this a very long time. Amazing experience for my first time.

Several friends recommended me that place. Each time I tried their sandwiches, it met the expectations. They are tasty, a little spicy but just enough and the service is efficient. A little bit of Italy in this area and I love it!

Had the steak panini for lunch with the homemade iced tea everything was great. I have to say the sandwich was way better than milanos wich is also good.just the right amount of spice definitely recommend

I can't believe this was my first time here after all the good reviews I've heard about it! Went there for a late lunch today and ordered their chicken cutlet sandwich with salad. Quick, filling, and so good. It seems like there are a lot of regulars there so it must mean something.

Only issue is the parking situation, but that just seems to be a Montreal problem. It shouldn't deter you from dropping by, or at least taking some food to do.

Went for lunch today with a friend. It was my first time trying this place. Hands down the best Italian sausage sandwich I’ve ever had!

I can't believe I drove my this Montreal Landmark all these years and had no idea what I was missing on. A line up of people inside and outside, waiting for a Sandwich experience. I tried the steak, it was out of this world. I rarely finish a Sandwich, but this one I inhaled and was ready for a second.

If you're in the area, it's worth waiting in line (They will come take your order outside) you'll end up like me and wanting to go back.

Every single desert or drink they sell is amazing. But the ice tea and cannoli are hands down the best I've ever tried. A bit expensive but worth every penny.

For our first lunch outing in this crazy year, we decided to visit Gentile in Westmount. Didn’t really know what to expect in terms of spacing and noise, and being the first day this spring for outdoor patio meal service, we knew it was going have us on edge. Amazing what being served a glass of wine and a draft beer dies to calm nerves! Got a corner table surrounded by plants in the semi-enclosed patio and enjoyed ordering! Appetizer portion of Nona’s meatballs and a tuna-topped arugula salad. Had the chef come out with our meals and a very happy chef he was! Smiles ear to ear. Loved not only preparing dishes but, finally, had the joy of serving customers for a sit-down service! All in all a great emotional lift for us both and congrats to the staff for welcoming us!

I don't know if it was because it was Mother's Day but our whole order was pretty disappointing. First we had a prosciutto sandwich tha literally 1 (one) slice of prosciutto. I took pictures. Also pasta is the least expensive product. If you are going to charge upwards of $24 for a plate, the least you can do is put a decent amount. The sauces were quite good though. Very disappointing dinner all in all.

Great little coffee shop down the street. Best lattes in town and those lunch specials hit the spot! Merci

What could I say, I'm a sucker for a delicious bowl of Spaghetti and Nonna Teresa's Veal Meatballs. Tried the new location of @cafegentile last summer and I've ordered from there about 4 times since it was so good. Loved the new vibe they are going for, but after being a loyal customer for over 25 years now, the OG spot on Parc Av off Chabanel is a go to of mine for a great sandwich and salad ️.

Our family are multi generational clients since my grandmother use to go there when she worked in the area back in the days of a gold and son's.

J'ai apprécié mon repas et il était bien consistant! Du pain et des pâtes ont coupé ma faim pour le reste de la journée. Les saucisses étaient un peu salé, mais ça bien passé quand même. Je ne vous recommande pas leur café glacé: je l'ai essayé deux fois, une fois au Gentile sur Parc et il était trop sucré et l'autre fois sur Sainte-Catherine et il était soit trop amer ou trop sucré. Simply authentic Italian food. They make great sandwiches (with many options to choose from). Their spaghetti and meatballs is amazing. The pasta was cooked to perfection. Nice setting as well. It is definitely a must try in Montreal!

When I get food at this location I tell myself It's going to be the last time I spend my money here but then I give it another chance. This is the last time. The staff is extremely rude. I paid for my takeout and said "have a nice day" and was completely ignored. Not even eye contact. I didn't even get the pasta I asked for. And It's overpriced. Would not recommend. Spend your money elsewhere. There are plenty of establishments around the city that treat you like a human being. These people don't deserve a dime.

Beautiful place with great attentive service. Just keep in mind it's geared more towards being a restaurant than a casual café so plan to spend a bit more time (you'll be seated and offered a menu). Although it may take longer for your bagel to arrive after your coffee, it will be absolutely exquisite. We left with big smiles on our faces. Certainly a great place to start your day!

Good place to grab tasty salad or sandwich (especially during summer on their terrace) Service was ok.

The food is ok, the service is fine, and the place is always packed. However today at lunch I ordered a grilled vegetable salad with grilled chicken avocado and boconcini. This is how it was described on the menu. When it arrived, there was maybe a quarter of a chicken breast sliced super thin, 3 small chunks of avocado, and a single small boconcini cut in half. I had to ask for more boconcini but was too embarassed to also point out the lack of chicken and avocado. And as for vegetables.no more than 5 measly pieces of either zucchini or mushroom and then the rest was iceberg lettuce. It kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth when they are that stingy.

Great menu! Always wanted to try this Classic Location (since 1959), was not disappointed at all!

Where has this been all my life!? Great food - literally best sandwiches I've ever had. And that ice tea. Please make it in an XL size. I love it!

Love this place! Authentic and delicious. The coffee is superb and the desserts are delicious as well. Very much Montréal style as well.

Solid Italian spot. Classic and simple fare but with a slightly chaotic environment at lunchtime. Be prepared to not understand where the lineup starts and ends. They accept cash only.

Keep it simple here. Chicken cutlet sandwich with a side pasta and a coffee of your liking. The best.

Pasta cooked to "al dente" perfection. Calamari was soft not chewy, another balancing act that few accomplish. Tiramisu was devine.

Best Italian coffee in Montreal. Great staff, service. Food is home made italian. Made with love.

I usually go to the one close to my work near Chabanel and really love the food and service. Then, I was so happy to find out that there was one near my house. I brought my boyfriend to try since I was raving about it all the time. However, the service and quality of food was not the same. The one near Chabanel explained the menu to me and recommended me items based on my dietary needs as I am vegetarian. My boyfriend is vegan and they did not even attempt to accommodate him or recommend him other items on the menu. I ordered the same burger as I did at Chabanel and the quality and taste was not as good. The patty was hard and not moist. In addition, we waited quite awhile for the food to come out. When my food was ready, the gentleman behind the counter gave it to me with no eye contact whatsoever which was incredibly rude. If you want better service and food quality, go to the one near Chabanel instead.

I went by for a quick lunch, but it turned out to be quite a long wait. I was alone and it took the waiter over 15 minutes to bring a menu and take my order. I had to flag someone down to notice me, even though I was seated ready with my menu closed. They also never brought me water. It took 30 minutes for them to bring me a simple pasta dish. In the end I had to take it “to go” because I did not have time to eat it. The food was good and I would go back, but it’s not the place to go to if you want a quick lunch that takes less than an hour.

Delicious food, excellent coffee and fast service. It doesnt get 5 stars because it only takes cash. I dont understand how in 2019 a business doesnt accept credit or even basic debit. They need to get with the times. Neither me or my friend had cash on us and he had to go to the nearest ATM a few blocks to withdraw cash while I stayed and waited. Will not be returning again until they accept debit.

A wonderful little resto with great, authentic cuisine. I came for the sidewalk terrasse and stayed for the great food (linguine with seafood sauce, a fine salad with tender and tasty grilled chicken). Friendly staff.

The food was excellent, but the service is non existent. If you are ok with waiting 30 minutes before you see a server, then this place is for you

You can't go wrong with Gentile. Casual and classy at the same time. A menu that keeps me coming back for more. Oh and the staff is always on point.

Delicious Italian cuisine, can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, although my personal favourites are the pasta dishes. A beautiful ambiance and friendly staff.

Went there with huge expectations, we heard that they made good food but the food turned out to be mediocre and the coffee was horrible when we ordered for take out.

I recently visited with my dad and we loved it. I had a Prosciutto sandwich and tiramisu. The sandwich was amazing and the tiramisu had nuts and crushed up cookies on top; at first I didn't think it would be good, but it was the best tiramisu i've ever had. The owner was so nice since she knew my dad from business she even offered us free cookies, which were delicious. Amazing customer service and such a nice place.

Gentile Cafe! One of my top favourite restaurants in the city for so many reasons; one being the food is flat out amazing. I've had the sandwiches, pastas, breakfast, everything (the chicken cutlet is so good, prosciutto, tuna, rigatoni bolognese,) the atmosphere and the overall vibe is a perfect balance of trendy and upscale Italian flare yet still relaxed and comfortable. The staff are wonderful and the owners Antonio & Anna. The line ups during the day are proof this restaurant is the real deal. Easily hands down one of the best Italian restaurants in the city!

Friendly service but nothing special. Ordered the Thai wrap and the chicken cutlet sandwich.

They were decent but I wouldn't rave over them. Could have used more veggies in the wrap and fresher lettuce in the sandwich.

Gentile’s seems to have a very good reputation, but I had an awful experience here. My friends and I were completely neglected as soon as we walked in, and were seated at the bar where it is impossible to have a conversation. The man behind the bar was the most intimidating and rude server I have ever encountered, especially at such a nice restaurant. My friends and I were practically “bullied” into ordering our meals quickly and were too scared to leave the restaurant without buying meals. We also requested to be seated at a table but this server told his staff NOT to place us at a table, since he didn’t deem us important enough or “worthy” of a table. Our food came cold, and it was completely overpriced. I do not recommend this restaurant, unless you are interested in being bullied.

Impressive! Had fish of the day: crispy skin, well cooked and still very juicy! The side was their famous aragula salad. Delightful!

Great choice for Breakfast and Lunch specially in the Summer when you can seat outdoor. Evening and dinner is overpriced.
