Café le 5e

This is my favorite spot in Verdun - they have vegan pastries which are always fresh and tasty, they have the best 'BLT' that even non-vegans love and the service/people are always so friendly.

First I love the idea of plants being sold and love community. The service though as nice and smiley as they were the lady didn’t really treat me well. I ordered 2 chocolate croissants she gave me the basic croissant.
I ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 lattes to go, she had the staff make the sandwich (very long wait) then AFTER they made the sandwich she had the latte made. So I wait like 15 minutes or more for the sandwich just to wait another 5-10 minutes for the lattes.
They made them for here, then poured them into a to go cup to go after. The cups to go are 90% smaller than the cups to stay so I’m not sure if you pay more for less for to go lattes. Anyways I hope next time it’s a bit more organized and order of operations is more wise. I had a cranky baby in a stroller who did not enjoy waiting. And I did think the food and coffee was nice.

I had the Banh Mi burger with breakfast potatoes and it was delicious! Great vibe too. Will come again with the family to the kids play corner

Très belle expérience avec un menu essentiellement à base de plantes Le burger œuf-bacon de tempeh est une véritable tuerie!

This cafe once had an amazing barista who knew her coffees, the beans and how different milks hit differently in the mix.
Now, 6$+ for a cup and it’s good for the trash. (I’ve tried 3 different times this week with same results)
So very acid it’s undrinkable. Although the people were welcoming, I used to come here just for the coffee since this place has nothing much else going for it.
It falls very flat in competition with any other cafe. I’m very disappointed.
They do sell a small variety of beans at a reasonable price and are linked to a small market at the back.

This was the first place we tried on our trip to Montreal. The jet lag was hitting, and we were up super early. We came across this place because it was one of the few spots that were open at that time. We were met by the kindest people! They told us about the café and the environment that they wanted to create for the community.

We got a smoothie, a chai latte, and pain au chocolat. Everything.was.so.good. The smoothie slapped, the chai latte slapped, and the PAIN AU CHOCOLAT? I think it was vegan, but I could be wrong. THAT. THING. SLAPPED. I highly recommend this place. Not just great food, but great people!

Easily one of the most delicious vegan/vegetarian meals I've ever had. The owner and staff are super sweet and welcoming and the food and coffee are incredibly flavorful and creative.

A must visit spot if you are in Verdun area

Café Jardin has the flakiest, vegan-butteriest, most delicious croissants! I brought a bunch to a gathering and everyone was shocked to find out they were vegan.they're that good! I've also had the vegan cashew-cream croissant and the banh mi sandwich and both were outstanding.

And a special shout out to the cafe chef/owner (?) - I was looking for some vegan, gluten-free pastry options for 2 celiac friends and they didn't have anything ready, but the chef offered to make some special gf cashew-cookies in 10 mins while I waited—my friends were so grateful! The customer service is always top notch. 5+

On nous a demandé de partir parce qu'on était assis devant le café (sur la terrasse qui n'en ai pas une, il n'y a même pas de table), et qu'on avait rien acheté dans le commerce.
Il y avait pourtant personne sur la terrasse, ça donne pas envie de revenir

La poutine vegan champignons et fauxmage est délicieusement subtile, on s'est régalés! Puis la chocolatine cajou chocolat.oh la la!

Oasis de fraîcheur ayant pignon sur la Well. Service hyper chaleureux. On a envie d'y retourner chaque semaine pour un latté, un cheeseburger aux haricots ou un burger au faux poulet!

Très déçu par l'ajout de produits laitiers et d'oeufs. On revient 10 ans en arrière.

WoW! Unique et totalement charmant. En plus d’un excellent café et croissant, et je suis plutôt difficile dans ce domaine

J’ai adoré ma visite. C’est un café au cœur de la rue Wellington qui sert des sandwichs véganes, on peut aussi déguster un bon dessert avec un café en compagnie de plantes et leur déco qui est magnifique. Tout est relax à cet endroit. J’ai déjà hâte d’y retourner. Ils proposent aussi des galettes végétariennes, ce qui est un gros plus.
L'endroit est très propre et bien soigné. L'accueil est chaleureux et convivial, les employés m'ont tout expliqué et étaient très amicals et patients.

Love this place, I usually go there to get my Latté. Everytime, consistent quality. Zero waste is a +.

Beau concept de café écologique (que j’ai découvert une fois sur place). Par contre le choix limité de types de laits et le fait qu’il n’y ait pas de tasses recyclables (juste réutilisables qu’il faut acheter) fait en sorte que personnellement je n’y retournerai pas.

Only had the brownie and it did not taste like a brownie. My boyfriend had the croissant which was good.

Great ambience, amazing coffees, great music, super nice people and I love the vegi, low-waste concept. Good soup and smoothies. Chill-out space downstairs. Unfortunately lunch menu offering is limited and tends to be a bit on the greasy side, but worth the visit for the coffee alone.

Ambiance chaleureuse et mission inspirante. Il faut arrêter au moins une fois pour se laisser charmer par les lieux et le personnel amical et à l'écoute.

Love the choices of alternative milk! I ordered a oat matcha latte and the barista recommended matcha with coconut milk, and so I got that on ice. The iced matcha is actually really good, just that the matcha isn’t as strong as I expected.

Very cute café. The barista let me in with my dog one morning when it was empty which I really appreciated! They're very eco centric.

The owner is super friendly. Coffee is great. Good study spot. You can rent a table in the co-working space too.

Women who works in the cafe explained me about the menu. I was really satisfied with sandwich and green smoothie.

Fantastic Kombucha featuring refill system for locals. And they teach you how to make it at home too apparently

Les boissons autant que la nourriture sont tout simplement bons, de qualité et éthique. C'est agréable de fréquenter une place qui milite pour un monde propre en plus de pratiquer des prix corrects malgré la qualité élevée des produits!

A notre première visite, la Barista nous a bien expliqué les 2 mélanges d'espresso disponibles, dans notre cas Emma et le 5e, les origines et les goûts. Fait intéressant, ils servent les boissons laitées uniquement avec des boissons à base végétale (soja, avoine, amande). On a essayé le 5e en cappuccino avec lait d'avoine et le Emma en espresso et ce fut un délice. Seul bémol à mon avis, rien ne bat un bon cappuccino avec du bon lait de vache entier. La texture n'y est juste pas avec le lait d'avoine. Je donne tout de même un 5-star, car je trouve l'audace d'être 100% végétalien très remarquable, bravo!

Bien, mais les smoothies verts goûtaient la banane pas mure: (les oeufs brouillés étaient sucrés, le "bacon" de tempeh ne goûtait pas grand chose la sauce à salade sucrée épicée n'est pas pour tout le monde

Personnel accueillant et sympathique! Bel endroit si vous cherchez un bon repas vegan et réconfortant. Leur politique zéro déchet pour le menu ajoute tout le côté charmant à l'entreprise.

Belle petite place sans prétention pour boire un café et manger un petit quelque chose végan après avoir fait son épicerie zéro déchet dans le même local #SoBobo
Pas le café le plus confo, mais sympa quand même et très lumineux.
Bémol sur le brunch, cher, pas super bon avec peu de choix.mais ce n’est pas une place à brunch, alors c’est presque excusé ;)
Le service est parfois un peu aléatoire, latte servi tiède plusieurs fois, des lenteurs et des oublis, mais néanmoins toujours avec le sourire.
C’est une belle initiative, mais ça manque de quelques petits détails pour que le moment soit agréable à 100%.
À essayer: le croissant vegan à tremper dans son café comme à Paris ;)

Joli café beau décor bonne atmosphère serveuse tres souriante jai mangé un grill cheese au foumage et une soupe courge gingembre avec un thé. Cetait un peu cher pour ce type de plat plus de 20$ avec taxes avant pourboire le grill cheese était bon jai aimé quil y ai des noix de cajou entières dedans mais jai été déçue du potage sa couleur était superbe mais il avait été dilué à l'eau donc tres clair manque de texture et navait pas les saveurs intense de la courge et du gingembre ca goutait l'eau et c'était tres liquide pas du tout la texture normale dun potage à la courge

This is officially one of the best places I have been too!

They have friendly staffs, beautiful interior, amazingly tasty vegan food, and most importantly, they are completely zero waste.

It’s a nice environment to sit down and do your work and reading, they also have really good coffee with different plant based milk to offer with.

A zero waste market called LOCO is just inside the cafe, I did a 5 star review to the market as well.

Relaxed vegan cafe with an attached small health foods store out back. Great for an afternoon work session. No cow’s milk available but alternatives are offered at no extra charge.
