Café Saint-Henri (Marché Jean-Talon)

I stopped by here to get some iced coffee and cool off. To my surprise, they were selling some geish coffee beans for a limited time.

Highly recommend, they also give you a complimentary coffee when you buy beans which is above and beyond (to be honest I wish more roasters did that).

Very good mocha and almond and chocolate croissant. Just a bit expensive for what you're getting.

Hier, j'ai demandé deux grands lattés glacés dans de la vaiselle réutilisable (vu que je restais sur place), mais j'ai reçu deux petits lattés dans des verres de carton avec couvercles de plastique. Quand on a mentionné l'erreur pour le format, le gars a bien voulu réparer, mais la fille n'a pas accepté vu que, semble-t-il, on nous avait chargé deux réguliers (ce qu'on ne pouvais pas valider vu qu'on avait pas le reçu). En même temps, l'erreur vient de leur part, mais n'acceptent pas de la corriger. C'est dans ces situations que je regrette de donner le pourboire en avance (même si c'est un comptoir et qu'officiellement le pourboire n'a pas à être inclus).

Small, cute and lovingly run shop from the well-known chain. The coffee is really good and they have a lot of hipster stuff which I love too. Dare yourself.thank you

Some of the best coffee beans in Montréal are sold there in that lovely store and location. Superb vibes are found there and yes their espresso drinks (espresso, Americano, latte) are to die for.

Although the staff is often reluctant to offer filter coffee (which is supposed to be their strength) or let alone to brew it properly (they brew it often too coarse, which makes the acidity note pierce, sting and cover the rest of the other notes). They should be encouraged to practice more.

Excellent espresso. Nice spot for sitting outside if the weather permits, and if you can get a chair (the place can be packed)

Love this place, been coming for years, excellent cortado. I also buy my beans from here, god shot espresso. Up there with my other fav places, in gamba, névé, noble and myriade.

Barista didn’t froth the milk at all, it was cold and lacking micro-foam texture. Poor cappuccino.

Un peu déçu de l'endroit. Les baristas ont pas d'intérêt envers les clients et parlent beaucoup trop fort pour une si petite salle (Les conversations que j'ai entendu m'ont vraiment malaisée) J'osais pas parler à mon amie par peur de les déranger.

Another great branch of Café St. Henri. I love stopping here after a bit of grocery shopping and discovery at Marché Jean-Talon. The staff are often very busy taking orders but they are fast and friendly. I love the outside seating where you can watch the life of the market and enjoy the weather. When it gets colder and the market slows down, inside seating is good as well - the standard heat and clean aesthetic of Cafe St. Henri. An easy choice to come here.

Agricultural and farming items are availalbe, If you like to buy plants there are a good amount of option.

Excellent café avec beaucoup de choix et un intérieur vraiment cool. En revanche, depuis la COVID, le service n'est vraiment pas sympathique. Déjà que l'on doit faire 20 minutes de queue, le minimum serait de dire bonjour à son client quand ce dernier entre.

I’ve written many poems here. The coffee is always swell and the spot has a very sleek and clean, clear and cold feel. The cold part is half good, it forces you to get outta dodge but it also looks really cool. Great facilities and some interesting decorations round out the good feels. They have vegan muffins usually.

Great place to sit for a coffee in the summertime. The blond barista makes terrific coffee and always recommends the best coffee beans!

Poor service and hot chocolate. I get it if the specialty is coffee but then don't charge super expensive prices for mediocre drinks or just don't offer them. The cold and uninterested service was the cherry on top. No need to go here when we have way better options just around the corner

Love this spot so much! After moving in the neighbourhood it’s been my go-to café for getting freshly ground coffee to bring back home or grabbing a latte and enjoying the view of the market. Staff is also super friendly and always a pleasure to chat with.

J’aimerais partager mon avis simplement, j’adore leurs cafés mais le service à la clientèle est TERRIBLE, les baristas ont toujours une mauvaise attitude et ils auraient assurément besoin de conseilles. Je n’ai aucun lien avec ce café mais pour tout les gens qui recherche un excellent café et un service à la clientèle à la mesure de leur café, je vous conseille d’aller chez DAX café. Pour les employés de cette franchise (St-Henri), je vous conseille fortement d’aller visiter ce café, je vous assure que vous allez apprendre rapidement ce qu’est un excellent service à la clientèle!

I have mixed feelings regarding this place. Its such a cute café and their God shot espresso is truly SO GOOD. But the quality of their service is very inconsistent. Some of their baristas have been very nonchalant & rude to me in the past for no apparent reason.the quality of the product is there, but for such expensive coffee I think customers should be treated way more nicely.wont be going back to this location.

One of those new hypster places. Coffee is definitely good but overpriced, they say you pay for quality but you get great coffee for less in a bunch of places.

J'ai un rapport amour-haine avec le Café Saint-Henri. J'adore le café, c'est un de mes préférés de ce type dans le quartier. Seulement, j'ai souvent l'impression que les baristas sont dérangés dans leur conversation par les clients. Il n'y a pas du tout denlien qui se crée entre le client et le barista, non pas que je souhaite jne conversation, mais un bonjour assumé serait suffisant. J'y vais souvent et pourtant j'ai toujours la même impression. Le manque de place sur place aussi est plutôt nulle, ce qui fait que la plupart su temps, je prends mon café pour emporter. Sinon, c'est super pour l'espace boutique avec une grande variété d'accessoires pour le café.

I only ordered a cold hot chocolate here and didn't think it was amazing, but then again they usually don't make that kind of drink here.

The location is a bit hard to find but it's really nice! The lighting didn't make me feel very productive though, it's more chill for a coffee with friends. I don't think I'd get much studying done here. The good seating is most likely to be taken if you don't show up early, and they don't have outlets everywhere.

I do want to visit again to get some food though, they have a lunch menu but I arrived too late to try it and I didn't want pastries.

J’ai bien aimé leurs cafés et les croisades d’amande. Surtout durant l’été très populaire et très animé par les couleurs, musiciens, les marchands.

Beware buying their coffee beans. Their coffee beans are now overpriced and they have a bad habit of selling sometimes old coffee -month old- for that price.

For the price they're charging, you can get a bag that is 50% bigger from other similar or better roasters. Definitely overpriced compared to Montreal or other cities.

The perfect place for a little rest after you explore the Jean-Talon market! Reasonable price and great to get a patio seat and enjoy decent quality coffee.

Coffee was great but the service was horrible. Being stared at by a staff agitatedly when I'm simply trying to enjoy the coffee was not a pleasing experience.

Toujours très apprécié pour faire une pause pendant le marché, de bon cafés et de bonnes pâtisserie dans un jolie décor! Que soit en été ou en hiver, on a toujours plaisir à y aller!

This coffee shop was a great addition to Marché Jean Talon. Summer is the best time to go since the terrace outside is open to customers.
