California Closets - Montreal and Ottawa

We worked with Sarah to create a beautiful, functional, custom designed closet in our primary bedroom. We found Sarah very easy to work with. The final design was a three person collaboration and the design gave us everything we wanted and more. We put the thought in before, and reviewed the final design with the layout that Sarah provided us with. The installation was seamless. Our installer was very respectful of our home and provided excellent site protection. He was well organized and completed the installation much quicker than we thought he would. Moving back into our new closet was a pleasure. Everything going into the new closet had its designated space because we took our time creating the new space before it was built. We cannot be happier with the finished closet. It’s beautiful and functional and we smile every time we open the closet doors. Thank you Sarah and California Closets. We didn’t know how amazing your closet would be. You exceeded our expectations and we can’t thank you enough!

Initial meetings and correspondence was great. Once you need help, forget it. One or two email responses, both times asking for the picture I already sent. Never got a final email to send me a part my contractor lost.

Thankfully we found a missing piece, without their help. Overprice for what we got. Go to Home Depot and you can do just as well or Ikea for way less.

Be careful to not change the install appt or they charge you 50% of the cost. Ouch

It is our third houses for which we use California Closets for all our needs and all the the times we are more than satisfied with the service and results.

Katrina has all the competencies to assist us in the development of our particular and unique closet project. No other firm would have given us the time and the creativity that she had. The quality result is impressive. Thx you Katrina.

Great, professional experience working together to finalize the design. Installation was planned for while we were away. However, we had our own knobs (which we'd ordered elsewhere but used on a previous California Closets installation), and we learned via message that the installers weren't willing to install them because they said the holes on the knobs weren't perfectly centred and we were one knob short.

When we returned and sought to get the knobs put in, we were told we'd have to pay for that visit because the installation had already happened. I guess business is business but it felt like a bit of a grift given how much we'd paid for the closet, which is otherwise very sturdy and of good quality.

Loved the entry closet they put in for us. Exactly what we needed for such a tight space. Thank you!

They don’t listen to what you want. You sit the the designer, you say what you want, they draw it up for you and make you think that they understand you. They even sent you a mock up of what it will look like, looking exactly as you asked. Until the installer comes and it isn’t what you asked for! We wanted a counter over our washer/dryer, coming out over them to use as a table. Instead they came with one that sticks only a bit out and had a 6 inch gap between the top of the washer/dryer and the table top. Don’t bother wasting your money with them. They are overhyped and won’t listen to you anyways.

California Closets Ottawa did a superb job designing, and installing our big project on time and within budget. Critically, they were still responsive with issues months afterwards. Very professional. We recommend.
