Candlewood Suites Montreal Downtown Centre Ville / Hôtel Saint-Laurent Montréal

Rooms are clean and tidy. Always been staying there whenever we visit Montreal. The location is great right across Montreal Chinatown. Service crews are friendly and car parking is just in basement. Everything one needs is there with reasonable price. Highly recommend it to stay there.

Appart hôtel avec de la place et un excellent service. Certains mobiliers sont un peu vieillots. Laverie gratuite très pratique.

Chambre confortable malgré la présence d'insectes. Très bien placé au coeur de Montréal. Avis plus réservé sur les équipements de la cuisine: fonctionnement du micro-ondes incompréhensible, pas de ventilation dans la cuisine, couverts insuffisants.

The rooms may look old but that was the only real inconveniency. Service and location are wonderful, especially for the 11 days I stayed. Big recommend!

While I understand this isn’t billed as a luxury hotel, paying $250 per night leads you to have expectations of at the very least cleanliness. There were live bugs when we opened the bag of bedding left for the sofa bed and there was unwashed blood left on the floor of the shower so we were unable to bathe. The hotel did not do anything except offer to comp our $25 parking. I would not stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it.

Horrible experience.i checked in late at night the room had insects and wasps. I called the next day for someone to come clean the room they first asked if i had any pictures to prove what i was saying, i told them i didnt and i thought my word was enough (obviously its not).
They refused to clean the room and said i had to have a 7 day booking for them to clean! Keep in mind i payed 300 CAD per night to saty here!

Établissement bien situé et personnel sympathique, nous avons eu l’agréable surprise d’avoir une chambre surclassée.
Chambre propre et fonctionnelle, elles mériteraient un rafraîchissement: disparition des baignoires au profit de douches, remplacement des moquettes par du carrelage ou de la moquette…

Nous avons séjourné 7 nuits dans cet hôtel, nous avions un appartement avec 1 chambre.
Je suis partagée: l'emplacement est idéal, à toute proximité du vieux Montréal et de la place des arts, les chambres sont spacieuses, la salle de gym est parfaite, la buanderie gratuite et le personnel très serviable.
Mais.l'hôtel est vétuste et mériterait sérieusement un petit coup de jeune. Attention aussi à l'accessibilité en fauteuil roulant, il n'y a pas de douche mais uniquement des baignoires et le siège de bain proposé pour les personnes en fauteuil n'est pas adapté. Pas de pommeau de douche, impossible de se doucher sans aide, le mécanisme est trop haut pour une personne handicapée.

Le lit (de tres bonne qualité) était beaucoup trop haut pour une personne en fauteuil.

Quant au canapé lit. à éviter si vous avez mal au dos. Ça passera pour 1 ou 2 enfants.

Le parking est cher (30$/jour) mais obligatoire car impossible de se garer dans la rue.

C'est un avis mitigé, tb si vous cherchez un bon emplacement.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Very good choice. Everything was simple and the service was top notch. Didn’t use the kitchen as much as we wanted, just because the food around there was so good. Check out Billy k’s (4 min walk) and Chinatown (4 min walk also)
Will stay again.

I've stayed here twice. Clean and spacious, best location and comfy bed. Their terrace is cute and quiet. Budget place to stay, and I will most likely stay again!

Hôtel très bien situé pour faire le centre de Montréal à pied. Très propre par contre c'est assez vieillot: électroménager et sanitaire.

Its rare to find a well placed economical hotel with full kitchen available in the room. This used to be the Candlewood Suites, and I was ever so happy to find this hotel again. The staff recognized me even though it had been at least 4yrs since I was last there! You really can't beat that kind of greeting. It's almost better than going home! Was in #1409 on Feb 4th. Thank you, once again!

Bon hotel, personnel sympathique (bien que facilement « débordé » par les événements.
Ménage une fois par semaine comme prévu mais pas super efficace.
Mais dans l’ensemble bon rapport qualité / prix.

THEFT! Someone broke into the garage while we were checking out, smashed our car window and stole EVERYTHING. $7000 in losses. Hotel did not help. Did not reach out. Did not contact us after. We were stranded with no passports or greencard and they did not even offer to help somehow. Not even a parking refund! The place is old and run down. No manager on premises and no cameras! STAY AWAY!

Bel hôtel en plein coeur du centre-ville. Près du Palais des congrès, du Quartier chinois et du Vieux-Montréal à pied.
Seuls points négatifs, le four ne fonctionnait pas et il y avait quelques poils dans le bain qui n'étaient pas les miens. Sinon, j'ai adoré mon séjour. J'y retournerais n'importe quand! Personnel attentionné.

Nice hotel, good rooms, great location and the small full kitchen in the room was the real deal breaker for me.

Good hotel will full kitchen. Only one thing, it was mentioned that it has free breakfast but it was not there which should not be a major concern if you have stuff and use kitchen. Staff was good and helpful.

Very nice hotel suites, well maintained and very clean, suites are spacious, fully equipped kitchen, large LED screens in all rooms.
Comfortable beds, all was very good and exceeded expectations.
Big thank you the recreation team, they were wonderful and very helpful.

I decided to go there with wife and kids after reading all the good comments. The pros are: Front desk really nice and friendly great location and all that you need to be like in a small appartment with enough place for a family of 5. The cons.not sure if it is because they allow pet in the hotel, but the first room we got had a terrible smell. If it was just this we would have learned to live with it and spray some perfume. But, we then saw some spider webs, and then some spiders.when I say some.it was like 5 in the first 2 minutes and also some popcorn on the floor, other dead bugs in the patio door track, etc. I called the front desk said about the smell and spiders. They switched us to another room. The other room was a lot better, smell was less but still present and no spider.well we had non at the beginning, but found few in the morning and just dealt with them. I do not think we will go back there.

On se sent comme à la maison. Tout est propre. C'est spacieux et il y a tout ce qu il faut pour se faire à manger. Très bon rapport qualité prix surtout si on voyage en famille. Le seul hic: frigo bruyant la nuit pour ceux qui ont le sommeil très léger et douche vieillotte mais tout le reste est super.

Our room (201) looks a bit old and dark but it’s spacious and comfortable. We had everything needed to cook diner. It was nice to have a restaurant break. It should be good if there was more chairs (there was only one).

On adore? Chambres propres, toutes les commodités a proximité. Super la petite cuisinette vraiment parfait

Very bad, not clean at all, we got in the carpet hasn't been cleaned since, ages full of dirt.
The sofa bed was full of dirt, and i found a worm on the sofa bed mattress.
Had to call three, times for womeone to come amd clean, and vacum the room.
I have chosen a double bed room, i got a studio with queen bed, and the dirty sofa bed, where the receptionist told me it is an upgrade!
I don't understand how it got 8.5 rate on booking website.
And when asked for the manager to talk to, they said it is a weekend.
This, was last saturday.

Très beau séjour. Mesures sanitaires oblige, il y a des étapes à respecter à l'arrivée et elles nous ont étés fournies par email après notre réservation en ligne. Notre chambre était très propre. Nous avions un grand lit King pour deux, petite cuisinette avec réfrigérateur. Un supplément pour le stationnement avec entrées et sorties illimitées.

Distance à pied du quartier Chinois, quartier Place de Arts et le Métro. Aussi à quelques minutes (10mins) et une distance d'environ (7km).

Clean, mask policies actually enforced, full kitchen, walking distance to shopping, historical sites and restaurants. Great, helpful front desk staff.

Clean comfy beds.tvs in bedroom and living room really nice staff. The a/c is awesome we went on a really hot weekend and slept comfortably in the hotel. Thick walls didn't hear a thing. Kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, kettle. Best destination spot right near China town. They also have parking under ground and you can leave with the yellow ticket and return when ever then pay after your check out stay. Definitely a good hotel 10/10.

The location of Candlewood Suites is one of its better assets. While not exactly in the livelier neighborhoods of downtown, it's steps from Chinatown and one block from Sainte-Catherine, one of the main shopping streets of Montreal. I stayed in 3 different one bedroom apartments that were spacious with plenty of storage space. While the kitchen is a decent size, it suffers from a lack of utensils and equipment. Those are basic and barely enough for a short stay. Service is satisfactory, but could use some improvement. If you are planning to stay more than one week in Montreal, you're much better off in an apartment here than a regular hotel room.

This is not a hotel, it’s a home away from home.

The Hotel is very clean and the staff was very friendly, even though we were from Dallas, TX they made us feel right at home. And they were always helpful

This is a nice no-nonsense hotel. If you go left then another quick left out of the front of the hotel, down the side street and on the next block is a pretty lively commercial area. We usually stay at the Novotel but I'm glad we got to see this part of Montreal as well. We went to the Habs game, cabs are about $15 from the Candlewoods. The rooms were clean enough, and ours had a decent little kitchenette with plates, glasses and silverware. I'd stay here again if I was looking for something a bit cheaper and out of the way.

Easy walking distance to many downtown areas, including McGill, Chinatown, nightlife, restaurants. 2-bedroom suite was very roomy. Did have to boil water as it was so dry in unit, and pullout was pretty thin mattress, but for that size & price in downtown that's still worthy of 5 stars. Bring a humidifier in winter!

I pre paid for my room before my vacation, and later phoned the front desk before I left for my trip to ask about alternate ways to leave a security deposit because I do not travel with my credit card and the person who answered my call was extremely inattentive and made no effort to assist me with my situation. However, when I got to the hotel to check in they were very attentive and let me leave a cash deposit. Other than that rooms were very clean and the hotel was very well priced. Since all rooms have a full kitchenette this hotel would be ideal for longer stays. The hotel is also very well located in Montreal which is a bonus.

Le personnel est vraiment très agréable. Le parking (payant, or course, sans excès) est hyper pratique. Proximité du vieux Montréal que l on rejoint à pieds, la Place des Arts.

Very nice place to stay at. One nice thing I like is the parking. With it being underground it makes it convenient. It's also by a few grocery stores and its easy to get around. Very nice place I stayed in and would come back again in the future

It is a great location. I am a repeat customer, love having a fully-equipped kitchen. Who needs Airbnb when you can have an apartment style place to stay. And free laundry!

This place is ok. It was a good deal for a room. Just remember you are paying $27.99 a night just for parking alone. The room was nice, but the place was loud. I couldn't sleep at night, because it sounded like construction was happening.

Here for a 6 day Convention. Excellent location 2 bedroom suite was perfect for myself and co-worker. Ate out sometimes and stayed in to cook others. Staff are friendly, professional and helpful. Would be great for family as well. Will definitely return.

Everything is very good here. Nothing to complain. A 3-star for the room. A 5-star for the service. A good place to stay.

We've been hosting our meetings at Candlewood Suites for a long time and always had a great service.

Best place to stay in Montreal. Best location. Perfect pricing. And everything you are looking for in a Motel/Hotel. Super Clean. Just Awesome.

Good hotel, sadly I have to add that after the second servicing of my room some of my spare cash which I had lying in the living room disappeared. It wasn't enough to make a but deal about but still not good.

Excellent, mid-range pricewise, extended stay hotel (as someone who prefers Oakwood Worldwide for extended stays, I was very impressed by this place.) - roughly a block and a half from CHUM (the new University of Montreal megahospital in downtown Montreal), and close to groceries, clothes shopping, transit and pretty much anything else you might need during a last minute stay due to a loved one's hospitalization and subsequent outpatient treatment. Much thanks to Dominique, who went above and beyond in assisting with extending our stay as long as possible. I recommend the Candlewood Suites (studio, 1br and 2br - I haven't seen the other room options) for any visitors to Montreal - short or long term, business, healthcare or pleasure, and whether you're familiar with the city or not. It is ok for 3 star hotel. Clean, specius. We stayed for one night. I was again at this hotel. Same good impresion. I was on 13 floor. Nice view.

Clean, spacious suites. Would have given 5 stars, but I was told only a $50 hold, but they did a preauthorization on my debit visa for the room and tax in the morning, then took a payment at check-in, so the info is incorrect. When I asked for a refund, they said the hold will remove itself the next day. Then the next day they said it will take 3-4 days. I have worked for IHG at the front desk for 4 years at 4 different hotels and I graduated from Hotel & Restaurant Management, and I can tell you they should not have taken the second payment. Especially since when I booked I was told there would only be a $50 hold.

Endroit propre et très bien situé. Un peu vieillot, mais spacieux.petite cuisinette avec cuisinière, frio et lave-vaisselle. Qualité/Prix très bien.

The room was very clean. Moreover, the kitchen has many utensils which can be used.
Side Note: The room I had doesn't have a balcony so I have to go outside of hotel to smoke.
Other than that, thumbs up!
