Chalet Bar-B-Q

Very cozy place to grab a nice meal and enjoy the service. It was my first time visiting Montréal and we needed a nice meal before heading back home. This place came about and we decided to try it. It was a great choice! The food was delicious and filling, and our waitress was wonderful. The waitress was very friendly and gave us recommendations to save some money. Their gravy has a hint of heat. Their fries were crispy and very palletable. Chicken soup was perfect to warm up. I liked their water pitcher. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of their water pitcher. Go and check it out.

What can I say this is a landmark and I’ve been coming here since before I was born 55 years ago and I have been here over 1000 times. Tasty chicken, the fries and sauce are to die for in my opinion and the coffee is nice as well. Prices have gone crazy in the last 5 years though and it’s become more expensive than the big chain chicken joints like st hub, Benny etc. I sure do miss thé old days when I got a double leg dinner with fries, sauce, slaw and a drink for less than a McDonald’s trio. I miss some of servers that I grew accustomed over the decades …

I have been going there since High school at west hill high school in NDG, there is no better chicken place in Montreal in my opinion

I'm speaking of delivery.order recorded wrong so received wrong. 1.5 hrs for one delivery and rude young man on the phone when I asked for some compensation on my next order. 4 times I have asked you to correct my address.chalet bbq you are slipping.

A land mark. Still one of my favorite BBQ Chicken restaurants on or off the islands of Montreal and Laval.

Ruined our night. Said delivery would take 1 hour, but max 1hr30 mins. We were not thrilled, but accepted it, and were fine with that. At 1hr30 mins we called, and were told 10-15 minutes and it will be here. OK fine. At the 2 hour mark we called and were told the driver hadn't left yet and there was no more chicken. Real nice. Thanks. Great work.

I usually go quite often and enjoy the food very much, but this time I was a bit bothered with my takeout order as I found two thin white/blond hairs. I called just to let them know so they could be more cautious, but instead of just accepting they said nobody had white hair and that maybe I had confused the chicken fibers with hair which to me is quite insulting. I’ve had chicken before, I think I can distinguish the difference between human hair and chicken fibers.

J'adore cet endroit depuis mon enfance. Toujours aussi succulent. La meilleur soupe au poulet, leur poulet est tendre et savoureux. C'est les mêmes serveuses depuis plusieurs décennies. Le seul petit hic, je n'aime pas leurs frites lors de la livraison mais excellentes au restaurant. Personnellement, je préfère leur pomme de terre au four, meilleur pour la santé. Cette institution est un
incontournable.

An old classic. Their sauce tastes the same as it has since I was a kid. Sadly there isn't any Boston Cake on the menu anymore, but plenty of other choices. The server was very nice and helped us out with whatever we needed.

Great food but our 90 year old waitress was curt and surly.completely ruined our experience!

Le poulet est bon mais c'est ridicule d'exiger un minimum de livraison de 30$ pour Côte-Saint-Paul/Ville-Émard.alors que le minimum pour la livraison est minimum 20$ à Verdun qui est pourtant plus loin.

Best bbq chicken in Montreal. Old school charm. Going on 80 years and it still is great. Always tasty.

Definitely a “west side staple”.

Food was good. The fries are super delicious, albeit greasy. The chicken was…. Well, it was chicken. It was good for what it was.

Overall, reminds me of Swiss Chalet in Ontario. If you like that, you would probably like this.

Fantastic service. Classic rustic ambiance with a touch of that warm home feeling. My waitress was an absolute delight. From etiquette to professionalism, Eryn, truly made my experience exquisite. Dashing conversation and attention to detail, ALL of my questions and concerned were handled with care and precision.
By far the best part of my dining experience at Chalet BBQ was this exceptional young woman.

The soup is truly tastes like your grandmother made it and the wangs be pretty tight too.

Our first time dining in. The server was slow with very poor customer service skills. After being seated for over 40 minutes, trying to order multiple times and only receiving a salad, we were informed they ran out of chicken and were closing the restaurant, serving the last chickens to take out. It was difficult to get the servers attention to pay for the salad to leave and go somewhere they still serve food.

I have eaten from this restaurant before and I love their food. The atmosphere was buzzing. The kitchen was alive.

This was unfortunately really awful. The waitress was nice, the food was not. I've been told it used to be better, and it is living off it's history, which makes sense. Food was bland, much from a can and dreary. If you love good food, this is not your place.

Outstanding value taste and quality. Service is 10/10

Suggestion: chalet BBQ Restaurant Should Put a sign on sidewalk Tuesday’s as of April 1!

Saying It is a NO parking Between 12 noon and 2: 30 pm it cost 90$ The no parking sign is damaged and hard to see.
And That is if there free parking is full.

It would create an even better 5 star service rather than pay city of montreal stupidly.

Some people come all the way to Montreal from Ontario just to eat here. I'm glad I live nearby.

They are like Swiss Chalet but the sauces are a bit different. Both restaurants make delicious chicken. It just feels like Chalet BBQ is a little better.

I think they do the best rotisserie chicken in Montreal.

Hands down one of the best chicken restaurants in Montreal. They've been open since the 40s and it hasn't changed since. My family has been coming to this restaurant since the beginning. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. You won't be sorry.

Sérieusement le poulet est toujours tendre a souhait, le tout est bien meilleur que n'importe quelle chaîne.

The family meal was worth ordering as usual. Consistently good! The delivery man was polite also, they always are! Will order again for sure.

While the atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, I was disappointed by non hospitable waitress. It would have been nice to feel more welcome and appreciated as a customer. Additionally, the food was not as crispy as I had hoped it would be, which was a bit of a letdown. However, I did enjoy the coleslaw, which had a great flavor and texture. Unfortunately, I didn't like for the sauce that came with the meal.

Overall, while there were some positive aspects to my dining experience, the negatives outweighed them. I hope that the restaurant can improve its customer service and food preparation in the future, as I would be willing to give them another chance if they do.
