Champlain Lookout

When you arrive at the first lookout point it is simply amazing, pictures cannot describe being there in person as you look upon the open space that we have. Once you ready to move there's a little hike in the woods for your walking pleasure, it's a brisk 30 minutes of beautiful forest and 2 other lookout points along the way (all of this depends on how many times you decide to stop and your speed).

I would suggest to take shuttle as parking is always full.hiking trail is 1.19km moderate level, steps to climb at beginning and end.in between also view point.can be done in 20min but max time 40min.

Astonishing views! A shout out to the Ottawa city for offering a free shuttle bus that allows tourist to visit such a nice place without needing to hire a car!

Champlain Lookout, at the top of the Eardley Escarpment on the Champlain Parkway, offers the best-known and most popular view in Gatineau Park. The sector is home to the richest and most fragile ecosystem in the park, primarily because of its geology and location. The escarpment is the dividing line between the rock of the Canadian Shield and the St. Lawrence Lowlands.

Champlain Lookout in Gatineau Park is like a hidden treasure that amazed us when we went there recently. As the sun was going down, it made everything around us look golden and the sky turned shades of orange and pink. Below us, Gatineau Park was a beautiful sight with lots of green trees and plants.

Second time in a month, I’ll be back again. Biking down the hills is really fun.

We went back to this spot about a week ago for our 1 year anniversary. We wanted to revisit as we had our first date there. After driving for about 2 hours, we ended up realizing that it had been blocked off for bikes even though it was open on Google. Why would a very popular public lookout be cut off to the majority of visitors? We were very disappointed when we saw this.

Vraiment un bel endroit, super l’accès en voiture le mercredi, j’adore ça permet aux jeunes enfants d’y accéder. L’année précédente j’avais entendu parlé d’une navette mais cette année on ne me l’a pas précisé. Peut être un oubli de l’employé? Attention. Le mercredi uniquement pour l’accès en voiture!

J’avais été très déçue de manquer cette unique journée l’an passé et que la navette n’avait pas eu lieu. Il est assez difficile de comprendre l’information sur le site web. Nous étions déjà sur place lorsque l’employé nous a informé. Mais vous pouvez les contacter par courriel, ils répondent dans un délai pas trop pire.

The area is popular. Very relaxing, you can feel the serenity when you want peaceful place outside of the metropolitan where no car sounds, pollution, hassles, and what not.

It’s a nice view but during the day you have to fight cyclists who do not respect any road laws to get to it. Very dangerous road to be on.
