LAMENTABLE! A EVITER
Lamentable! Pas possible qu'un établissement de renommée internationale ait pu servir un dîner de 24 décembre aussi lamentable.
Pour débuter, malgré une réservation, et des hôtesses bien nombreuses qui ne savaient où donner de la tête, 45mn d'attente pour être dirigé vers la table.
Au lieu du champagne d'accueil programmé et facturé, il nous a été servi un crément.
Rapidement nous avons dû revêtir nos manteaux tant il faisait froid. D'ailleurs autour de nous les autre convives en ont fait autant.
L'animation de la chanteuse très bruyante, et le menu indigne du prix qui nous a été réclamé. Un peu plus de 2000$ pour 6 couverts, et encore nous n'avions pas choisi de vin trop dispendieux (1 seule bouteille de chablis!).
Jamais je n'aurai pu imaginer que "le Champlain" soit tombé aussi bas.
J'aurai dû lire les multiples avis négatifs avant de réserver.
Le groupe Accor aurait intérêt à se pencher sérieusement sur la situation.
La seule note positive revient au personnel de service.
Je ne suis pas près de remettre les pieds dans cet établissement.

Famille de 2 adultes et enfants de 7 et 10 ans Service A1 2 serveurs attentifs et professionnels
Nourriture mal adapté pour les enfants (pâte de bœuf pour enfant, gnocchi avec beaucoup trop parmesan (pas le fromage préféré des enfants!) 89$/ enfants!
Le menu 4-5 services, bon mais vraiment sans plus, repas principal magret de canard trop cuit et très de base, servi avec purée de pomme de terre et réduction de veau.
3 coupes de vin pour un beau total de 765$

Expérience sublime, nous avons mangé le menu découverte en accord avec le vin. Le service était parfait, l’ambiance parfaite pour un jeudi soir en famille au château. Un menu sans gluten était disponible et adapté pour toutes les bouches fines!

We had a group dinner here - the tasting menu - and everyone left hungry. While the room is quite charming, the wine list is grossly overpriced and the expectation seems to be that patrons will fill up on bread and dessert and not on proteins or the featured dishes. Hugely expensive and not worth it.

Nous avons adoré le brunch du dimanche, avec une équipe souriante, présente mais discrète. À faire avec des enfants (moins de 5 ans ne paye pas), il y a même un buffet qui leur est dédié avec pleins de friandises et de bons gâteau. Je recommande vivement.

Je suis allé bruncher au champlain, dimanche en novembre à 13h00.79$+tx+tips. J'ai été extrêmement déçues de la nourriture. Les oeufs brouillées, saucisses, bacon étaient froids. Saumon et pétoncles sont restés trop longtemps dans le réchaud donc les textures n'étaient pas bonnes. Les macarons trop dur. Les pâtisseries étaient très bonnes je l'accorde.

Very good dining experience if you're willing to dish out the money! The chef was very friendly.

The WORST service we have ever received in a high end restaurant…. Champlain Restaurant. So disappointed. A $500+ meal for two and the waiter could not even take our drink order for 45 minutes after we were seated? Thankfully the maitre d’ FINALLY stepped in to take our drink and dinner order and explain to us the VERY confusing menu, just as we were preparing to leave the restaurant to find accommodation elsewhere. How do you forgive this treatment in such a presumably fine establishment as the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac? And with reservations for over a month, numerous confirmations and high expectations? The limo service to the hotel with Stephan was flawless; Francis met us at the curb with great warmth; Florence checked us in at the desk and was simply lovely. Dinner at the Champlain? Again, the service was truly abhorrent although I must say the duck and Waygu beef were divine. We would never come back, as stately and beautiful as this hotel is. And hopefully we will not have to step over the tray of dirty dishes left outside our neighbors’ door for two days as we leave. DONE. OVER. NEVER AGAIN.

Rated one of the top restaurants in Quebec City, and after a long drive, we decided for our first night to have dinner at the hotel.

We ordered the prix fixe with the wine pairing.

The food was wonderful, the wine was good, maybe I was a bit over-served ;) …and we had fantastic service.

My view was wonderful. Unfortunately my husband was looking at a wall which was under construction…this table for two was not very good. The view from our room was much better.

HIGH TEA WAS A LOW EXPERIENCE!
No style, old musty interior, packed in like in a train to Mumbai, no tablecloths, silly colored porcelain, MILK OR CREAM was not served, tea was tepid, pre-prepared food which tasted stale, no tongs for sandwiches, sterile service personnel. Please reconsider. High tea can be an experience but this was a nightmare. This is not AT ALL worth the price tag; a hair short of an insult.

Beautiful restaurant with amazing service. I enjoyed my time here but the food was not great. Small portions and just not very good. Their menu could use an overhaul.

Très belle endroit. Malheureusement, c'est de plus en plus difficile de s'y rendre en voiture.

Service & ambience excellent. François was an excellent, engaging server. Fixed price menu Cdn$135. /person + tax + tip & wine pairing CDN $125. / person + tax + tip left a lot to be desired. Scallops on the shell; beef tongue consommé; halibut; lamb; dessert. Food was beautifully extravagantly presented but portions extremely small. Flavours were bland.bring your own spice pack! Wine pairing not great. Not worth the money.prefer La Girolle!

A must visit in Quebec City. The food was excellent but the interior, building history, and architecture is one of a kind.

5 course meal that was excellent! Also had the wine pairing that was fun. The service was impecable. Also had the pleasure of talking with the chef who was so gracious. Such a lovely night!

I had a wonderful dining experience at Champlain Restaurant. The atmosphere was elegant and sophisticated, and the service was exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish perfectly prepared and presented beautifully. I particularly enjoyed the lobster bisque and the beef filet. The wine selection was impressive and our server was very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting the perfect wine to pair with our meal. The price was on the higher side, but it was definitely worth it for the quality of the food and service. I highly recommend Champlain Restaurant for anyone looking for a special dining experience in Quebec City.
