Freshly prepared food. Wonton soup is the best I've tasted so far. The lobster bao was excellent. Chicken bao was ok. Teriyaki beef bao was too salty. Would go back again. Overall great food and nice experience.

I had the lamb and coriander Sheng Jian Boa and it was so filling that I probably should’ve just ordered those. And SO delicious. The cheesy shrimp balls are tasty and it’s a serving that you can share among 2-3 people, especially if you’re ordering other food to eat. I usually like the crispy chicken but it seemed undercooked this time.

Un petit resto des plus sous-cotés des Montréal. Les prix sont très correc pour la qualité de la bouffe.

Peanut butter won ton and mushroom teriyaki were fantastic. Service was friendly and fast. I'll be back.

Our favorite dumplings, this place is small but the waiters are really nice, the food is really good, the options a bit limited but good enough, and the prices ok given the food quality, location, and service

Phenomenal food, amazing prices, and a very cute place to sit down for lunch! The broth base of their wonton soups was delicious, and their Bao buns were also perfectly made.

They have lunchtime combo deals that pair a Bao sandwich with a soup, and it's the perfect amount of food for lunch.

Nous avons commander le poulet frit à l'ail mais il nous a semblé cru. Un peu décevant. Cependant l'ambiance était sympa.

Menu wasn’t as extensive as I thought it be. Menu primarily focuses on baos, and soup. Baos were good, could have been better but I did arrive 1 hour before closing … Sake, beer, are the alcoholic beverages offered. Very casual. Parking was difficult because it’s located in Chinatown. Baos are about $6-7 (Canadian) each. It would be nice if they had more options for baos.

My chicken filet was half raw. When I told the server she said it's just pink due to the marinade, and even when I pointed out that it's fine at the edges but clearly pink and undercooked in the middle she didn't seem to believe/understand. So I'm posting about it here as a heads up!

An amazing spot for a light and tasty meal!

Chef Lee is a cute corner spot on St Catherine with the best buns in town (yes, you read that right). I ordered the Bun Boeuf Teriyaki and the Crispy Fried Chicken bun and they were soo soo tasty! The flavours weren't overpeowering but were so good.
The service was A1, the staff was friendly and were helpful when needed.
I loved the interior design of the restaurant, it had a peaceful and homey feeling to it and to add to that, the music was very soothing and made our time there nice and calm.

My only issue is that the dishes there are very very light, so you would have to order almost 5 - 6 dishes if you want to be full.

Other than that, I would recommend investing!

Horrible place. Their staff didn’t care about allergies The waitress was nice but people working in the kitchen were grumpy and showing attitudes to the waitress. Got my food “remade” eventually but still ended up with an allergic reaction. Who knows what they did.

Tried a bunch of dishes, definitely try the lamb, the bao were delicious! The staff here are passionate and very attentive. Overall great experience!

Found this little gem recently and they really impressed. Their prices are so affordable and they have amazing dishes. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff was very friendly as well. Their portions are small so keep that in mind when ordering as most of it is finger food or bao buns, but regardless, each bite I tired was amazing. Makes a great stop for dinner or snacks before heading out on the town!

This is a tapas style chinese restaurant. The food was tasty and the staff was nice and welcoming however i do not recommend the lamb. It had too much spices and this made it hard to taste the meat.

Best restaurant ever! The most delicious food I have ever tasted! My favorite dish was the pork bao. They have a perfect price for it also!

Wow, another amazing restaurant. Simple menu but sooo good. We are definetly going back to try all of their buns and retake the lamb! Love the fact that they are sharing their terasse with Sami Dumpling place.

The taste is wonderful, but they aren't worth the price. $25 is enough for 2 ladies who don't eat much at nearby restaurants that have similar dishes, but here, $40 is not even enough to make us full.

Delicious? Yes. Coming back? No, not at all.

Chef Lee the proprietor is a warm and welcoming man, as is his staff. Rebecca/ Tien Wei and Zen have been my servers. Beautiful people. The food is inexpensive and delicious. I have frequented this establishment several times in two weeks. My goal is to sample everything on their menu. Small and simple, extraordinary and delicious every time.

The food is good, but 1 share is not enough for a normal person. You want to be full, you have to order at least 2 dishes. If you normally can finish 1 dish, you need more than 2 dishes at Chef Lee. Sigh!

The store is pretty with green and nice decor, along with good service. However the food is really not outstanding as I expected for the Shanghai cuisine. I wish i can give more stars but i cannot due to the food.
I took the Shrimp Bao and Pork belly Bun. The Bao is kind of dry and not juicy, meanwhile the Bun is better.
Hope it will be improve.

Nice and clean environment, friendly staff and most of all, the food is simply delicious! The must-order plate is Sheng Juan bao!

Je suis rentré dans le restaurant et ont m’a dit qu’on avait pas le temps de me servir… sans aucune politesse.

We had the pork pan-fried bao, wanton soup and pork belly bun. Both the pan-fried bao and wonton soup are not authentic. The meat is way too sweet. The texture of the bao doesn’t feel right. Only the pork belly bun is good, especially the bun itself.

Service was a bit slow for pick-up order but that's growing pains of a new restaurant. On the bright side, the food came out piping hot. Got the shrimp shengjian bao that was delicious with a crispy bottom. The fried chicken bun was crispy and fresh. The vegan steak taro bun will be favourite for vegans and vegetarians alike. Absolutely delicious. A unique sweet flavour but not too sweet, from the taro, with a super crispy outside layer. The sauce was great but I would have preferred it a bit spicy to bring more of a sweet/spicy mix. Buns were good, not spectacular - the rest of the ingredients made up for it - overall very satisfied and full! Can't wait for the location to open for the dine-in experience.

Very nice sheng jian bao (fried pork buns) and steam buns. Highly recommend you try the classic fried buns, and be careful not to burn your tongue. Filling and reasonable price for a quick lunch. And tasty too!

OMG I never thought vegan food could taste that good! I will definitely be back with friends to show them them how flavorful proper vegan food can actually be!

Staff were very polite. I had the dumplings, which were delicious and a nice change from the other places around here. Would recommend for people looking for tasty food on the go or dine in at a great price point.

Excellent! I had the crispy fried chicken with garlic and shrimp balls which were all cooked fresh and were extremely tasty the only thing was the pumpkin soup i ordered which was also very tasty but it was luke warm and not hot all in all great new restaurant chicken was very crispy mmmmmmm

Super disappointed with this place, we never got to try the food. Called today at 11: 40 am for pickup, placed an order and was told 40 minutes. They took our number and told us would call if ready sooner. We thought OK, we'll wait, understanding that it's a new restaurant. We got there 45 minutes later and our food wasn't ready. We waited at least ten minutes in line to pickup order and told to wait another 15-20 minutes as some machine broke. Really? If that was the case then they should have called us. Sheng Jian Bao is street food and is supposed to be picked up on the go. We went and had dumplings further down the street, that were excellent. We won't be coming back, and the customers in front of us that were also waiting won't either.

C’est impressionnant! Le Shen Jian Bao au porc est authentique et délicieux, 10 sur 10. Le Bun au flanc de porc est excellent aussi. On a mangé dans le resto, le service était quand même rapide, mais je comprends pour ceux qui ont attendu longtemps. Parce que ça prend du temps pour le cuire. Il faut apprendre à manger le Shen Jian Bao aussi, c’est très chaud et juteux. Il faut aller doucement à petite bouchée.

You call this soaky bun Sheng Jian Bao? Shame! Ordered this ten minutes ago, four for ten dollars. Ready in two minutes, so I suspect that they just heat it in the microwave oven for two minutes. The bottom is not crispy at all. I ordered take out, but to be extremely fair, I ate it on the car right away, but it’s still not crispy and so expensive. Really need to work on the freshness.

First impression, the staffs are very nice and polite. And very patient.
I tried the 2 types of bao and I really like them. Texture needs improvement but the taste and the juice inside is amazing. I also tried the pork and fried chicken bun, loved them. And finally I tried the wonton soup and I am quite disappointed. I think this one need a real improvement. But overall, I will come back and I will tell my friends to go and try this place.

New place to try this week.dissapointed! If wonton soup is not the specialty, should not be listed. Broth was warm, no taste at all. I said perhaps the wontons would be better, just ok as regular standard american-chinese fast food version. The Concordia area is filled with excellent asian options, not sure if because they just opened, but the expectatios are high when a new "specialty" restaurant is announced in the area.

Had the shrimp bao and the vegan steak bun. Both tasty. The vegan steak is very interesting in terms of texture; a nice change from the vegan proteins you usually see but the sandwich itself lacked a little depth. Only downside, everything was served on disposable dishes (lemonade included) even when dining in.

Ordered the pork belly and the fried chicken Bao sandwiches. The fried chicken was pink inside and I could taste the uncooked seasoning. Similarly with the pork belly the meat was underwhelming and undercooked with barely any tender pieces used.

Ordering is fast but I had to wait for the food for longer than I thought. I think around 15-20 minutes. But I honestly think it's worth the wait! I ordered both their pork and shrimp Sheng Jian Bao and both their pork and chicken buns. They all tasted very good! It's so aromatic and fresh! I like the pork Sheng Jian Bao and their Chicken bun the most! Their lemonade is basic doesn't taste much. Portion is very generous and I'll definitely be back!

Got the pork shenjianbao. 5/5 for flavour. 3/5 for texture. Bottom is fried but not crispy, and the wrapper is on the doughier side. Compared to what you get in Shanghai, they are considered sub par. Definitely try it out if you never had it.

I’m so glad to find this place, they have cute staffs and which is more important, delicious food! Their Shengjian Bao (pork pan fried bao) has thin and crispy skin, then the meat inside is of high quality (juicy, well seasoned and would almost bouncing when I chewed it). I also took their Gua bao, one with hongshao pork (red braised pork) and the other with fried chicken. The hongshao one is really amazing, may looks fatty, but actually they cook most of the fat away and it comes with very cute flavor and perfectly balanced accompany the cilantro and dry chilies inside.

Such an amazing restaurant for vegetarians! What makes me surprised is that the vegetarian steak has the texture of real meat! It’s so yummy and I gonna come back for sure! Can’t wait for dine in
