Chelsea Pub

Been coming here for a long time, and has always been one of our favorites, but it has recently become unjustifiably expensive for just pub food at a bar on the side of the road. (Almost $30 for a pub burger?) Been told it's basically a tourist trap now. Will only stop in for a pint, and eat elsewhere. Too bad, but have been discovering other terrific places nearby instead, so that's a plus!

I've been here 5 times over the years, and each time i wish I would come here more often. The service has always been quick and friendly. The fries are standard. The fish and chips were delicious, but I get it half salad and half fries. The beef tacos were surprisingly tasty. Great selection of beer.

A perfect place to grab some great food and wash it down with great beer. Food here is reliably good, particularly their burgers and wings. Beer is amazing, and they have a good selection of locally brewed stuff. The place gets crowded during weekends, but the atmosphere is always good.

Great atmosphere, getting seated takes a long time even though there are tables available. Burgers are good, loaded sweet potato fries were garbage.

We had a big group for lunch and they did a very good job of accommodating and serving us. It is an awesome location with a huge patio. The one beer I tried, the Chelsea west coast IPA, was a bit off. Not sure if they have issues with the lines or it was the beer itself. The food sounded amazing and I'm pretty sure was from scratch, but lacked a bit of salt/acid/punch. This included the burger and the jalapeno popper arancini. I would go back to try some other beers and food.

First restaurant in a year. Great time. Our server was really friendly (male with tattoos) I had the vegetarian beyond burger with sweet potatoes fries and my partner the regular burger. One of the best vegetarian burgers I've ever had. Large portions too. Will be back!

The food was fantastic! Some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. The customer service was top notch!

La nourriture et nos breuvages alcoolisés étaient excellents, mais le restaurant était envahi de guêpes (pas de salle intérieure fermée), même de leur propre aveux ("j'en tue une 20aine par jour! ", nous a dit la barmaid). Ils n'avaient aucune trappe à guêpe, tapette à mouche électrique ou quoi que ce soit pour nous aider à chasser celles qui nous tournaient autour, venant même jusqu'à se poser dans notre pichet, ce qui a un peu ruiner l'expérience. 4 étoiles tout de même, parce que c'était _vraiment_ bon.

Pub avec superbe terrasse. Beaucoup de choix pour les cocktails et bière locale. Assiette beaucoup trop grosse et manque un peu de goût.

Had the fish n chips amazing! Came with a salad, coleslaw, fries, carrots and so filling. Great tasting. Had a lovely server. Covid safe they checked for our Photo ID and vaccination (from. Ontario and Nova Scotia) we ate outside.

Good food, atmosphere and drinks. The pub has a wonderful Terrasse and the service is good and friendly. Would definitely eat here again ️

It was fine.
To get in you have to show proof of vaccination which can be really good but since we didn’t have it ready it took a while to find it, you also need a piece of identity but that shouldn’t be to hard to find for anyone.
I got a coke and a poutine, the coke was very flat and had no taste, it was basically just sweet water. The poutine was great.
I personally didn’t like the music they were playing and there was a weird smell.
Overall an okay experience.

Very nice place the service was really good. The owner and the staff are Emily and helpful. You he food is good not many options h mdr the 4 stars. The drinks are good and there are lots os options. Recommend to visit for sure. It is 20 min from downtown Ottawa

Chelsea Pub has a airy patio and friendly efficient staff. We had the BBQ ribs and Fish and chips. The pub has a wide selection of local beers and knowledgeable bar staff. We will certainly be back to visit soon.

Wonderful pub with indoor and outdoor seating. Good selection of pub food and beer. Friendly staff, French and English spoken. Free parking available on the main street.

Im not always a fish and chip kinda of person, but I love their fish and chips haha! Worth the price! And the staff is super friendly!

Great place for après-ski or some meeting with friends. I have been going to this pub for the past few years and noticed a downfall of their food quality/portions. The beer is always good. I'm my opinion, it is an over-rated place. There are many other cute places around the same area.

As always, incredible beyond words. The staff is amazing. The atmosphere is welcoming. There is no better place to eat in the area.

Very nice pub the service was very nice. The owner and the staff are very nice. The food was excellent but not much choices the drinks were really good. The prices are reasonable. It is 20 min from downtown Ottawa

Was told about the place by a man at chez putter in Alymer. Went today foot was cold. Sent mine back wife was scared to send hers.

Ribs from smoker as advertised not cold put ba k I. Mircowave and given to me. Wife fries were not cooked. Chicken cold on her plate.

Oh my will not go back to pub

Atmosphere and staff and amazing here. The food could use a little work. Wouldn’t recommend the fish and chips. Pretty mediocre. The poutine wasn’t true poutine which was a disappointment. Would like to see big chunks of soft curd cheese not a bunch of melted cheese.

Excellent service de Marie-Pierre, drinks hallucinants de Éric le Barman et la bouffe est arrivée en 7 minutes! J’adore!

Délai d’attente très long. Serveur n’avait pas vraiment l’air de se soucier du service. Le plat reçu n’était pas celui commandé. Demandes répétées à plusieurs reprises. Nourriture très moyenne pour le prix.

Great pub with delicious food, excellent service in a delightful location. I had the Cobb salad with duck! It was beautifully prepared - aesthetically and taste-wise. Located at the heart of the village and within walking distance to Gatineau Park, it's a fabulous spot for a meal. Highly recommended.

Chelsea Pub is an excellent pub close to Gatineau Park. There's a beautiful patio that has ample space. The food was delicious; the service was speedy and fantastic. The ribs are quite tasty, and are accompanied with lightly-creamy coleslaw. However, the lobster roll did have some plastic in it. Besides that, this is an excellent restaurant to drop by after a hike, ski or walk in the area.

Highly reccomend!

Always a wonderful dinner experience! Excellent food, good service and a beautiful garden patio. The option of locally sourced food and drink also make it an easy choice for me.

10/10 would recommend. Staff was exceptional, they had a variety of drinks, and the food was amazing. I had the burger, it was one of the best burgers I've ever eaten!

The covid menu is very restrictive and when I asked for the Cobb salad wich is actually on the menu it wasn't available. However the staff is good and the food is decent.

Few choices (meals) ; more expensive than comparative fares elsewhere; very average food; average service.

It's always a good time. In a classic Quebec way, it offers a sense of authenticity and integration with its community. The patio has trees and you feel a part of things. The food is good. And the beer hits the spot.

I love the area, the restaurant is very nice but they need to change the chairs. The Beer and drinks were nice but the food was average. We started with a plate of nachos and they were pretty good but for 20$ the plate could have been bigger, then we ordered some wings and sweet potato fries and the wings tasted like they were frozen but the fries where good. There is potential but they need to work a little harder. After I mentioned that the 18.99$ for 10 wings weren’t to good they took off 15% of the wings. I will return for drinks but hopefully they will update the menu and the food.
I understand it’s a pandemic but food is food.

Good energy here. Visited on Father's Day. Great spot to spend time pre/post hikes in Gatineau Park. Food was good. Many menu items were sold out. Not grumbling.totally sympathize with Covid craziness for restaurants. Happy to support Local!

Chelsea Pub is always a great time! They have a great selection of local beers and really tasty pub fare. The patio and inside is welcoming and warm. One of my favourite local spots!

Nice place to stop in after a ride/run session. Our server was amazing! Fluently bilingual, friendly, helpful, pleasant. Will definitely return.

Was really excited to eat here as it’s one of my favourite spots in Chelsea, I had made a reservation quite far in advance to eat here and when I arrived at the restaurant they had put a closed sign out on part of the patio (I figured they’d closed the patio) and I could still see people at tables eating. When I went to go inside one of the customers told me that the restaurant had to close suddenly and she didn’t think they were serving anymore. I went to the door and it was locked, I tried calling the restaurant twice and never got an answer, I also left a voicemail and never received a response. This was at 1: 30PM on a Sunday for reference. I could still see that there were staff in the restaurant walking around and talking quite casually. If the restaurant has to close that suddenly I would assume it would be due to an emergency and staff wouldn’t be just wandering around. Further it would have been nice to be notified that the restaurant had closed as we had driven from Ottawa to have lunch there. Or been acknowledged when we were standing at the door rather than being ignored by staff. Overall really disappointing experience, all of the other restaurants in Chelsea were completely booked so we ended up having to just drive back to Ottawa, it kind of ruined our afternoon.

Update: we never received any response from the staff here following our inquiry, really disappointed in the customer service.

Went today for my Bday! Very desapointed. 20$ for nachos, asked for no Jalapenos because if an allergy, only got cheese and green onions.like really? Can't be creative and add Vegetables, like onions or tomatoes and toss it on top? And let me tell you about the frozen Calamari that taste horrible! My first time there, never going again! The patio was nice but don't recommend the food.

Has Chelsea pub's patio become the next tourist attraction after the Eiffel tower? Otherwise, I cannot justify the prices they charge for such small portions and so-so food quality.
Ordered a grilled avocado salad for $24, which looked more like your side garden salad soaked in oil, no salad dressing. I asked "Where is the salad dressing? ". The waiter made a poker face and replied "Somewhere there! ". It was not there.
Not cool that they are trying to pass overpriced low quality food blaming Covid and that they reopened last min. If you can't offer full menu and good food, just reduce your prices and offer a temporary menu.
Not eating there again, only ordering drinks.
