The moment you walk in, you are engulfed by the smell of delicious food being prepared. The service was great, the food was soo good and affordable! We had a great time and will be back for more very soon, no doubt about it.

I don't know why the rating is high. The food is edible, but it is expensive compared to the reality. They only serve kimchi as a side dish, but it's only once. The service is a mess. It was especially hard because the bathroom was so dirty and smelled bad

Very good, cozy Korean spot. I sat down alone and ordered jeyuk bokkeum (pork stir fry) and a beer, they brought out homemade kimchi and gamja jorim (stewed potato) as well. Don't expect exactly "authentic" Korean food, but very good food that feels homemade. The jeyuk bokkeum was savoury and fatty, laced with mixed vegetables and a hint of spice, and redolent of burnt caramel and malty flavours, while the kimchi was pleasantly sour (not as fresh as I had hoped) and the gamja jorim was pillowy and savoury-sweet. Beer is beer. The ambience here is excellent, convivial and comfortable, where it really feels like someone's basement that they've turned into a small, charming restaurant, and I would bring friends for the ambience alone if the food weren't also delicious.

Galbi is a bit sweet for Korean taste
But the stone pot bibimbap is really delicious and the quantity is great.
If I go to eat Korean food with my foreign friends, I think I will take them here.

One of our favorite Korean restaurants in MTL

? The food was absolutely wonderful and authentic! We ordered spicy rice cake skewer, general tao chicken, soon dobu jjigae, galbi, and spicy pork grill. Galbi was the best, so we always order it whenever we come here.

? The service was great. The staffs were extremely friendly and welcoming. They always came to our table to ask us if everything was okay.

? The atmosphere was warm, chilly and homely.

We've been here 3 times. We also came here to celebrate my birthday. We've not came recently as we want to discover more delicious food in MTL, but we'll come back for sure.

Des plats typiquement coréen, une ambiance dépaysante qui semble nous faire voyager directement en Corée. Les produits sont frais, le service est accueillant et courtois. Certe les places sont limitées, mais c'est un restaurant qui mérite d'attendre.

I feel like I have to write a review here as a Korean. This is not Korean food. Well, “technically” it is, but I don’t want anyone thinks that all Korean food tastes like this. We ordered Jakangmyeon and Dolsotbibimbap. I have tried countless Korean restaurant located in Canada and the US, and these were the worst ever Korean food I have tried so far. Jajangmyeon tastes like they bought the instant noodle kit from Korean mart, not the real Jajangmyeon. Bibimbap does not even have spinach nor bean sprount which is the basic of basic ingredients when cooking Bibimbap. As for Banchan, only two things - Kimchi and braised potatoes - were served. I thought they are kidding. All of these were not worth at all for what we paid. If you want to try Korean food, do not come to this place and please consider elsewhere. The only good thing I would say is that server was great.

Amongst the best food I ever had the pleasure to eat. It was simply absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and professional. The service is fast and courteous. The food is like a big warm hug from the inside. Will definitely come back soon. I'm already excited to try the other items on the menu!

Nous sommes allés chez Bong pour la première fois en fin de semaine et nous avons adoré notre souper! Les dumpligs, le kimchi, les patates, le riz frit, le bibimbap.tous les plats étaient délicieux et remplis de saveurs! Le service était impeccable et rapide également!

Dined here during a work trip and we found the food and service top notch. Korean general tao chicken, bulgogi, and chicken stir fry is highly recommended.

On y a mangé un samedi midi. Il y avait un peu de monde, mais on a pu avoir une table pour deux en attendant un peu (pas de réservations). Excellent service, la nourriture était vraiment très bonne et pas chère. Je vous le recommande sans hésiter!

The rice cake have too much bell peppers with it, gives the dish a kind of weird taste. There is bell pepper present in every single dish…

This has been one of our favorite places for Korean food in MTL. Their food is always tasty, consistent in quality and great portion sizes. Prices have gone up recently with inflation, but still worth it.
Our favorites are the Dakbokkeumtang, Jjam ppong, Jajang myeon, Pa Jeon and fried chicken.

Extremely delicious food with a very warm and inviting atmosphere. Been coming here for many years and it’s still one of my favourite restaurants!

Le poulet croustillant en sauce, une tuerie! Demandez des radis marinés et une portion de riz et si vous êtes en forme, une bouteille de Soju! Les prix sont raisonnables et le service courtoi. Chez Bong, c'est mon resto Coréen préféré!

Best bibimbaps in montreal, must go if you’re in the area. Literally one of my favorite restaurants everything is delicious!

Just wanted to say I ordered from skip the dishes and it’s super cold out so I believe that’s why the food was overly cold so I did not account that in my review… overall I ordered the grilled chicken which had little to no taste for Korean food thought I had covid but luckly I ordered a side of the Korean chilli rice cakes appetizer which was good and the side of season potatoes that came with it was also nice. The chicken came with a side of dry arugula salad which was dry and unpleasing seems it’s put there just to make the dish look more full…. Outcome: I wouldn’t order skip the dishes again, but would definitely give them another try, in house dine in.

Un restaurant qui vaut le détour dans le quartier asiatique. L'entrée est un peu caché et le restaurant en sous sol, mais ce qu'on y découvre est parfait, le service est top, et le plats sont délicieux, déjà hâte d'y retourner.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The dolsot bibimbap is so good. I'd argue it's my favorite but there are a couple of other really good restaurants to but it's really high up there

Délicieux, portion ULTRA généreuse pour le prix, ne changez rien! Les serveuses sont attentives, nous demandent si tout va bien. L’ambiance est chaleureuse… Bibimbap au tofu dans le bol de pierre chaude, succulent. Ajoutez de la sauce piquante au gout! Ce restaurant est une perle rare, nous retournerons.

No doubt the people and service here are nice, but as a Korean who is familiar with Korean food, the quality, taste and ingredients, not so good. Kimchi bokkeum bap is USUALLY made using a type of ham or a luncheon meat, not pieces of pork strips, this matters! Soondubu JJIGAE is made with small beef strips, not pork. Using beef ads flavor to the broth when mixed with seafood. And haemul pajeon (translates: seafood with green onions crepe) The haemul pajeon here, had NO squid or octopus and hardly had any trace of green onions. Food quality and taste, 1 star. We did take out and transferred from the Styrofoam to our own dishes. This location was in China Town, Montreal.

Hands down the best Korean restaurant in Montreal, the food is delicious and the staff kind and courteous, I love this place!

Taste of the bibimbap was good, but you can get the same good tasting bibimbap elsewhere for cheaper Recommend opiano, which is not far from this place.

The side dishes given were kimchi and potato. They were both good, especially the potato.the refills on the side dishes were NOT free, so that is quite different from other Korean places.

I ordered the Soon Du Bu Jigae and it was super flavourful and filled with seafood, meat, and tofu. I think everything is made fresh by a Korean auntie too so you know it’s legit.

All the family love it. It is our place to stop when we are going to Montreal.

Great portion sizes and welcoming during the call for takeout. A lot of rice for the bimbimbap but also SO much other stuff (the tofu one is great!). The only thing is that I wish they would use more eco friendly take out containers (I feel guilty with the Styrofoam).

My friends and I have been going here for years. It's easily my favorite Korean restaurant in Montreal. Out of all the places I've tried in a few cities, I found this place to be the most authentic outside of Korea.
They have beer, rice wine and soju.
The potato side dish is the BEST.

Small place but they do a good job accommodating groups. If you like Korean food, do yourself a favor and try Chez Bong.

Expensive, taste is ok (3/5), they don't give kimchi and rice for free like the other korean restaurant. There are better korean places to go then this one.

Comfortable and enjoyable dining with very flavourful authentic food that will keep you warm in the winter months and have you dreaming of the homeland in the summer.

La cuisine de la dame des lieux est bonne, même si on en fait rapidement le tour. Le Kimchi est frais et particulièrement bon. Les mêmes sauces semblent un peu réutilisées de plat en plat, mais c’est pas si grave pour ce qui est somme toute une “binnerie” coréenne qui sert du “comfort food”. Les “crèpes” aux fruits de mer sont fameuses et la plupart des plats sont intéressants. Pas très cher.

This is one of my favourite Korean restaurants in Montreal. The bibimbap is delicious. Very affordable too. However, I wouldn’t go for a date as the decor and vibe are.pretty basic. Best for a lunch with your colleagues.

Nice ambiance, vast Korean menu and cleaning seating area. A bit pricey for the portions, but the quality of the food is great. I started by trying the Dak kang jung. The sauce was little bit too sweet, and there wasn`t much chicken in the batter, but overall, it was good. The Bulgogi came in a sizzling pan, it was delicious and had the authentic BBQ flavours and smell. The main courses come with complimentary kimchi, rice and potatoes. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Korean experience.

Très bon restaurant coréen. Les grillades sont excellentes. Ce n'est pas un bbq coréen, mais on peut y manger des grillades tout de même. Les crêpes aux échalottes sont excellentes! Je suggère également le bibimpap. Les dumplings sont également très bons. Le restaurant est petit, mais très sympathique.

I had black bean noodles.they also offer kimchi and sweet potato on the side.it was so good, chewy, hot and sweet! I should’ve grabbed soju: (but overall staff were nice and quick.i felt so welcoming.
