Me and my girlfriend went over for steaks and we loved the terrasse and the view overall perfect view and very clean!

Location is great and Terrace is nice, I think this is great to have a drink or two.

Overall just an amazing place! Love it!

- Presentation is terrific, I think it was well plated.

- Seasoning for the steak average, similar to Montreal Spices mix and resulted in saltiness.
- Sauce for steak - was amazing, little salty but acceptable.

I just went there again early April 2023 we ordered steaks and once again it was nothing to write home about.

This is an establishment that cheats you by offering specials without indicating the price. Waiters should indicate the cost before offering a special item. The item was a rather small steak meal for two for 350$. None of this was stated when the special was described. An establishment that serves kosher food should also tell the truth to its customers and be forward about it.
Food was also not of the quality expected at a price of 350$ for a plate.

Was very disappointed by the fact that the waiter offered a special dish that he said is a shef special and did not say the price, we came just for the cocktail and desert and did not expect to spend much, we thought that the dish was only for two and it was four of us so it would not cost us so much, at the end the dish was350$ and it was way above our budget. Would not recommend this to anyone. Very very disappointed.

Overpriced food & mediocre results. The steak was so overdone, I felt like I was eating rubber, it was inedible. As someone who works in the culinary world, I like to try new restaurants and this was a no. I felt like I could have bought this at the food court mall. The only good thing was the sushi, it was very delicious & presentation was good. The drinks were also good. Be aware that they automatically charge 18% tips. Not a fan of the waiter that kept pushing us to take the steak multiple times. He did not deserve that 18% tip, I would have given him less with how pushy he was and how he mixed up our order.

If you’re willing to pay over 150 bucks for subpar food then this place is for you. Restaurants with huge random diverse menus usually don’t use fresh ingredients or just reheat their food and it tasted that way.

We had the most delicious dinner last night at Chops, and our waiter, Khan, was outstanding! He was warm, friendly and so helpful - all without hovering. One of the best meals and best service we have ever experienced. Can’t wait to come back!

Came in for lunch with a group. The restaurant was nearly empty but it still took a long time to flag down the waiter. Dishes came out one or two at a time. One dish came out, waiter was unsure whose it was, but rather than asking, he walked back to the kitchen with it. My meal was wrong; I ordered beef but got chicken for which they charge just as much. I could have complained but it was already one hour after we sat down and I had to get to work eventually.

I will not be returning for lunch. They didn't have lunch specials. A burger and fries cost as much as a more exotic meal. This seems like a place to go when you have plenty of time and are willing to spend on a nice night out.

I love working at Chops. The customers are the some of the most sincere and most polite of any restaurants I've worked. I've been with the company for years I stay for the clientele. Always a pleasure! Thank you so much!

My husband and I always go to this restaurant when we visit from Toronto… The food and service is absolutely the best. The carpaccio and steak is out of this world.

If the owner is reading this you NEED A NEW HOSTESS. I have never met a more unapproachable, no smile, rude and couldn’t care less attitude hostess. I reserved a table for 5 for 7: 45. Arriving at 7: 45 there was no table for 5 available. Apparently the hostess had given the table for 5 I reserved to a party of 4 who added a fifth person at the last minute. Only 2 of that young party had arrived and were seated at that time but she did not ask them to move and wait. Instead she had 3 of us standing at the door (2 are in our 60’s) waiting. She offered us a round table whose party had paid and were sipping tea. I told her sipping tea could still be awhile but she didn’t care. In the meantime 2 other couples, one with no reservation were immediately seated to a table of 4. After 15 minutes we were offered a table for 4 in thé back (VIP section I think) with an extra chair added. She could have offered us this option at 7: 45 instead of having us wait as this option was acceptable. The party at the round table sipping tea left at 8: 45. Although I frequent Chops rarely each time this hostess has no smile on her face and couldn’t care less about the customer. She did not offer anything like free deserts or drinks for making us wait while standing and never came over to see if everything was OK. The Steaks were good but the chicken salad chicken was very dry and basically paid for salad. On thé upside the waiters were attentive and pleasant. I will not be going to chops in the near future.

Food is awesome. And the restaurant is really nice and cozy. Perfect for date or to take a business client. It’s nice and quiet and upscale.

The food was mediocre and the experience overall very average. But we had a terrible experience with the manager she was extremely rude to us, had inappropriate comments and acts and made our experience uncomfortable and unenjoyable we were insulted and mistreated as customers.

Interesting take on Asian fusion steakhouse. Majority of the large assortment of food our group had was very good. But I've had better Asian good at strictly Asian restaurants - szechuan or sushi.

The food was good! Nice restaurant! Clean washroom. Overpriced! Service included on the bill which I find somewhat unacceptable considering we went for lunch, only 3 of us. The bill came roughly near 170$! First time going and probably last!

Over price for what you get. Terrible service. We asked for the check and a few minutes later a big group came in. They totally ignored my request. I asked for the check 4 times, after 30 minutes I decided to leave. I went to the cashier and they added an 18% automatic tip to the amount. Terrible service does not deserve an 18% tip. I will not come back and do not recommend this place. Unless you are Jewish, eat kosher food and don't care about anything I mentioned above.

Kosher restaurants in Montreal are rare and Chops has been around for some time. Unfortunately they never evolved to the reputation they set for themselves. Service is always average, the restaurant is not properly maintained and the customer is not heard (even when he asks to give feedback) no one comes. The food is ok, yet overpriced. Do yourself a favour, take the extra time and drive to Chiyoko for a fancier option or Benny et fils for more casual.

Food tasted good, but I was sick right away. Service was excellent during the meal, but in the end waiter looked unhappy. It is an expensive place. 18% for service and we paid 30$ for small bear and 2 small limonade.

Great date night out. Good food, good vibes. I want to point out my server Khan (hope spelled it right) - really nice guy- all in all, well done guys.

Terrible experience the owner was very disrespectful

Ohayon says his own criminal past has no connection to the firebombing campaign. In February 2005, he pleaded guilty and received a suspended sentence for intimidating the former wife of a friend in 2004 and 2005 in order to collect on a $150,000 debt.

The transcript of a preliminary inquiry obtained by the Star includes testimony that Ohayon badgered a Montreal school teacher — a newly divorced mother of two — to have her repay her ex-husband’s debt. In a 2004 phone call to the woman, Ohayon said he was simply a “messenger” but explained he stood to make a 5-per-cent commission on the repaid loan.

When the money didn’t appear, Ohayon became insistent and increasingly aggressive, the woman testified. In a recorded conversation, Ohayon warned her not to go to the police for help and told her “two very large men” would be visiting her if she didn’t soon comply.

When she resisted further, her home and that of her elderly parents were pelted with bottles, juice cans and other objects late at night.

“I cannot express to you in words properly as a mother who’s scared for her children, for her family.how the blood dropped from my head and I began to shake, and this was only the beginning of a 5½-month ordeal of having things thrown at my windows, ” said the woman.

One of the largest casinos in the United States is suing a Montreal poker player for $1.8 million.

The MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas has filed a lawsuit against Ouri Ohayon.

He reportedly borrowed $1m from the casino in five installments on March 2,2017.

Ohayon is a poker player who has appeared on 'Poker Night in America, ' and several poker tournaments such as 'Party Poker Live. '

LaPresse report Ohayon did not appear to his case in the Clark County District Court in December 2017.

They add that several other creditors have also filed suits against him in 2018, totaling $635,000.

Worst experience ever! I can not find words enough to describe how the staff and owner of this place made my sick wife feel. Horrible! Stay away if you do not want to lose your dignity along with your money.

Decent but pricey grill/streak bar with great service. Limited fare though, if you want something gluten free-many of their dishes/sauces contain soya sauce and they couldn't offer a gluten-free version.

This is our absolute favorite restaurant. Every time we are in town, we make sure to eat here many, many times. So glad to see it’s still open (in a city where kosher restaurants come and go quickly). The hanger steak salad is my absolute favorite. The sushi is out of this world. My kids love the chicken fingers and fries. We are back in town for the holidays and I ordered meals for the entire family. My husband was supposed to pick up the meals at noon. At 11: 30am my baby accidentally ingested my father’s cancer medications. The entire bottle. My husband had to rush him in to Sainte Justine’s emergency room. When I called the restaurant to ask them to push out our order because no one could pick it up and explained what happened, they offered to deliver it to us free of charge. I don’t believe they even offer delivery normally. Talk about going above and beyond. This is our family’s favorite restaurant. Now it’s a place we will be sure to always support. This is what community is all about.
