So yeah, I had a broken hand and they sent me home. Went to St. Mary's and they confirmed that i needed a surgery. So yeah, great service!

The most mismanaged hospital-ophthalmology, in Canada. They cancel an operation agreed 3 months in advance, they will reschedule you for an operation one day before et then a few minutes before the operation, you discover that you have been programmed for the wrong operation without your knowledge. Awful, I've never known such a situation. It's worst than many third world hospitals.

Prenne beaucoup soin de leur patient et communique beaucoup avec la famille en directe ou par téléphone, il prenne le temps de tout expliquer qu'est qui ce passe et quest qu'il va ce passer par apres l'opération. Je tien à dire merci à tout l'équipe d'urgence ' chirurgien et les infirmière qui s'occupe des patients.

Extremely unspeakably unsanitary and unprofessional. Felt more ill witnessing the unsanitary urine, blood and vomit (maybe even feces? What was crusted and dripping through every crevice in the toilet?) stained conditions that they put minimal effort into cleaning, much less properly sanitising than when I was phasing in and out of consciousness and felt like I was going to die. At some point I thought to myself part of me would rather die than be there. Messed up some vital tests due to contamination issues that were very obviously going to happen to anyone with half a brain thanks to the toilet seat dripping with redacted something yet no one did a thing about it. Somehow, the nurses were so surprised.

I'm pretty sure if you were on the floor dying they still consider you a non priority and tell you the wait times are all determined on the type of emergency.waited 12 hours there with really high blood pressure.no doctor saw me.the nurse was bitter, rude and unempathetic.made a complaint against them.the waiting room is filthy. The security are nice, but I'm not there to socialize with them.

I have been to this hospital two times, once for day surgery and more recently went to emergency following an accident which required major surgery and a 6 day stay. As far as my hospital experiences have been, both times here were by far the best experiences I have had in terms of the facilities, the staff, the doctors and the procedures. In both cases, pre and post-operation, I was kept fully informed of the status of my condition, my options, and what to do in case of complications after I left the hospital. The hospital is relatively new so everything is state-of-the-art, the rooms are all private and all the staff from orderlies to surgeons appear to appreciate their work and truly care for the patients. I left the hospital both times feeling cured and very positive.

Be careful There is scam with parking. Other hospitals parking free up to 2 hours, but they tried to charge me $17,50 for one hour.

I went to Emergency room yesterday. I'm having severe abdominal pain. I reached to ER at 10pm seeing my condition nurse gave me painkillers and that's it.for next 5 hours I waited for doctor to see me and nothing. What kind of emergency is this. I came back home without seeing any doctor and had another painkiller.this is the worst medical system I'm witnessing here in Canada.

Un hôpital de CONFIANCE! Vous êtes en très bonne mains. Les personnels de l'hôpital sont très poli, gentil, accueillant, aidant, ils sont à vos écoute à 100%. Les meilleurs médecins, infirmières, préposé au bénéficiaire, tout personnels de l'hôpital CHUM! Ils ont toujours SOURIRE. Ils y a toujours quelqu'un pour vous aider et répondre. Les agents de sécurité GARDA très gentil, poli, professionnel, souriant, près à aider, etc. L'hôpital des toujours très propre.

Les pires incompétents au monde! Le personnel de l’urgence me traite avec mépris et sans aucune considération. Ils mettent la vie des gens à risque!

J'ai été hospitalisé plusieurs fois au service chirurgie hepato-biliaire.j'y fais souvent des contrôles en radiologie.
Impeccable! J'en sors à chaque fois très content.

I was taken here by ambulance on Nov 11 2022 at 11pm (a Friday night)

I was checked and then placed in the waiting room and told to take a number if things got worse.when i did this it took 25 min to see the triage nurse again.

In the 13 hours I waited to been seen by a Dr here is what happened.

The security was arguing with some of the patients because they were seated too close to their door.

One guy took his shirt off and squared off with 7 security guards.

One man sleeping in the chairs peed on himself then we saw 6 staff actually come out and do something.

Another guy was arguing with patients at random. He was removed and then allowed to return about 4x.

Security had at minimum 12 tense interactions with patients waiting.

A mentally ill man who kept arguing with security made a public announcement to all who were waiting that included very disturbing details. He was finally removed after 6 warnings throughout the night.

One man stood in the middle of the waiting area with his pants and underwear at his knees.

People were stealing from those who were sleeping as they wait to see a Dr.

Another man was pacing outside and banging on the windows.constantly.

Randoms shouts throughout the night. One woman couldn't breathe and the staff barely reacted.

When we asked to have a more safe place to wait, we were told that they were aware of the issues but it was "normal" and there was nowhere else to allow us to wait.

We moved 7 times to get out of the "line of fire"

The ER Dr we saw was very thorough and I feel bad for the staff. They roll called like 15 people and 1 person answered.this did not move the process along.

I would avoid this ER at all costs.

It was a very tense and scary night.

Première fois à l’urgence du nouveau Chum… et dernière. Malgré un nombre faible de personnes dans la salle d’attente, ils ont deux médecins seulement en service (peu pour un hôpital universitaire de cet importance) et l’attente est interminable…

J'ai manqué leur appel pour prendre un rdv en radiologie.
Apres 3 appels en 1h30 pour tenter de parler a quelqu'un qui ne vas pas juste me couper la parole pour m'aiguiller vers le mauvais service (Sans compter la fois ou la personne m'as simplement raccrocher au visage) J'ai finalement pu obtenir un rdv, choix: vendredi 22h30 ou samedi 07h du matin.

C'est de la folie.

Very nice and clean. It needs a touch of organizing, as a first time visitors and out of the province health card. We had to go to the admissions twice to obtain the same document to give 2 different departments. This could've been avoided if they have a good network

Worst hospital in all montreal. Look is nice from outside, inside is lousy management. B3en wating since 11am, now 1030pm and still no answer when I am going to be seen. This place is full of homeless, who makes a ruckus and they give them priority first.

Vous pouvez le nomme comme vous voulez sauf urgences, non…. Mais sérieux avec des douleurs atroces, le délai d’attente est 8 heures et 30min, mais c’est pas vrai…. (avec tout le grand respect pour tout les travailleurs?)

Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal, known collectively as CHUM, is a collection of buildings, new for the most part and impossible to miss, especially if you are in the eastern part of downtown Montreal. CHUM is a welcome addition to a growing city that is notorious for shortages in hospital beds and medical institutions.

Pire hôpital, les employés sont incompétents surtout en soirée ca se voit qu’ils n’aiment pas leur travail et souhaitent juste rentrer chez eux, on ma fait 8 prise de sang aucune des prises de sang a été réussie jai décidé de quitter l’hôpital car je ne pouvais plus supporter leur incompétence faites attention a vous ce n’est pas l’hôpital idéal pour vois faire soigner vous risquer de sortir encore plus malade

I was in the emergency room as a tourist because of very severe abdominal pain. The registration could have been a bit more organized, before I even saw a doctor I had to pay around 1300 dollars, but the nurses and especially Dr. Boisvert were very very nice and took their time to get to the root of the pain. He was very empathic! Thank you very much for that.

Très mal organisé les passions attendent comme 4 a 5 heures pour ce faire opérer après l'heure du rendez-vous, Du vrais n'importe koi pour un établissement qui devrait être a la hauteur pour le biens des personnes malades.

Très mauvais suivie après l’opération. Très peu d’explications de la part des médecins. Des fois visite des médecins qui on dirait ne connaissent rien de ta chirurgie et quand on pose des questions ils disent il faut voir avec le chirurgien alors que celui-ci tu ne le verra jamais après l’opération et tu sera chanceux si tu vois ton chirurgien avant l’opération! En revanche je reconnais qu’il y a de bon chirurgiens sauf que c’est difficile d’avoir un suivi avec eux en personne.

J'ai plusieurs opérations et vaincus 2cancer et reste 2 à combattre et j'ai une bonne confiance des spécialistes et médecins très attentionné et très humain

Entrée en ambulance pour douleur au bras, étourdissements, manque d’air, et des antécédents d’anévrisme dans ma famille et après 10h je ne suis toujours pas passée la salle d’attente. Worst hospital ever

Très long temps d’attente à l’urgence, comme après quand vous avez du service. Médecin rapide et le mal revient vite dû à la médiocrité du service

6 mois d'attente d'un rdv orl, 3 rdv annulés par le standart.le chirurgien m'accorde 3 minutes pour me dire on peut rien faire pour vous, vous n'avez qu'a porter un appareil.pas examen complementaire pas de tomodensitometrie, pas de conseils.

The facilities are new, the staff is courteous and attentive, but there is a clear lack of staff and very careless

J'ai été reçu au centre de prélèvement avec beaucoup d'attention.
J'enlève une étoile car il est tres mal indiqué et je me suis perdue dans l'hôpital pendant 10 minutes avant d'arriver devant la bonne porte. Cependant une personne de la sécurité m'a très gentiment indiquée chemin à suivre.

Understaffed. Waiting hours to see a doctor. Nice building and all but doesn’t help if you can’t get care.

They cannot even perform a proper blood test. Either they are not trained well or they don’t care to do a good job.
They damaged the small vessels and left bruising.

Jetait en cas de déshydratation et sous alimentation pendant 1 semaine et le monde qui avais “juste mal à la tête” se faisaient passer avant.
Attente très longue pour que au final on te dise que tu a rien et au final 4 semaine plus tard t’es de retour pour le meme probleme.

This is the third time I’ve called the radiology department. I need to make an appointment for an abdominal ultrasound and I have not been able to talk to a human being in over 4h of waiting over multiple calls. I’m so exasperated. This service is so terrible.

This review is solely for the cafeteria on the 2nd floor.

One of the best kept secrets in MTL! Tons of various fresh hot and cold foods like soups, salads, wraps, fruit plates and parfait, burgers, pastas, pizzas, and rice bowls. Great portions and healthy ingredients! Everything is less than $6. One person can easily have a full meal within $10.

The only downside is I found some staff and security staring at me and other visitors as if we were unwelcome. Strange because we are paying their salaries through our taxes and also subsidizing the food through our purchases.

Anyway, this is a must visit and you'll never get bored of the variety!

Ce centre hospitalier ce démarque de tous les autres centres francophones à Montréal. Des infirmières exceptionnelles, tout les personnels sont super gentil et professionnels.

J’ai dû subir une mastectomie suivie d’une reconstruction immédiate par Diep (lambeaux)
J’ai choisi le CHUM de Mtl pour avoir la chance de me faire opérer par Dr Bou-Merhi. Son talent de plasticien m’a redonné un corps féminin malgré le cancer.
Chambre privée avec une belle vue sur la ville et salle de bain privée. Hospitalisation de 5 jours et je me pensais à l’hôtel!
Les repas sont biens. Les infirmiers/infirmières et préposés/ées sont fantastiques. Jour et nuit ils se donnent corps et âme aux patients.
Très grand stationnement sous-terrain avec beaucoup de personnels pour nous aider autant dans le stationnement que dans l’hôpital.

The people are very nice but had to wait 10 hours before seeing someone for a broken hand. I arrived at the hospital at 7pm and only left at 6: 30am

2 years ago, I had nothing else better to do one afternoon so I was near the CHUM and I decided to go in and check it out to see where our tax paying money went to. I spent 20 minutes walking around and sitting at the cafeteria. Very spacious and clean place. I don’t think this place is English friendly like most predominantly French speaking facilities because I haven’t heard any English but I hope that I never find out for sure.

URGENCE CHUM
Je viens de vivre 15 heures d’attente et de solidarité avec les autres «patients» à l’urgence du CHUM sur Sanguinet. Éprouvant. Malgré tout, on m’a traité avec dévouement, respect et professionnalisme. Les personnels sont sympathiques, attentionnés et passionnés. Et on n’a pas lésiné sur les tests: prise de sang, électrocardiogramme, test de dépistage COVID, échographie, scanner (tomodensitométrie), et ce avec résultats, diagnostics et ordonnance peu de temps après! Ce fut une expérience enrichissante et rassurante. Vive le CHUM! En passant, merci aux docteurs Nicolas Chan et Caroline Ranger, urgentologues et humanistes.

CHUM c’est mon Hôpital: bien équipé, très propre, personnel extraordinaire. On peut le résumer en peu de mots: Efficacité, rapidité et courtoisie.
Ce sont des anges qui s’adonnent au bien-être des patients. Que ferais-je sans eux?
Je les aime beaucoup.

What an absolute embarrassment of a facility. They are clearly understaffed in the ER room and don’t know how to efficiently triage patients. If you don’t come here on the verge of death, don’t be surprised if you’re waiting 8+ hours for any form of care. I highly advise you seek medical treatment at any other hospital in Quebec before coming here.

J'aimerais grandement remercier toute l'équipe du CHUM qui ont su prendre soin de ma mère atteinte d'un cancer. Nous avons eu une belle communication avec l'équipe des médecins et ils ont fait des miracles au Centre intégré de cancérologie.

Ma mère est maintenant en rémission et j'aimerais grandement remercier autant les infirmières, les réceptionnistes que les médecins. On chiale parfois sur notre système de santé, mais je peux vous garantir que maintenant, j'apprécie grandement les soins qui ont sauvé ma mère. Merci encore.

L'accueil est chaleureux, le personnel, en général est excellent mais ce que je trouve déplorable est le prix exorbitant du stationnement. C'est honteux!

Simply the best hospital on earth, for who they complain, please be grateful and appreciate the staff who’s trying to do the best from little, if I can shake hand and thanks each employee from the cleaning people to the highest doctor there I won’t say no, thank you guys for everything and thank you for each second of you time trying to help everyone non stop.

Je suis rentré au CHUM en urgence pour brûlure au deuxième degré les soins ont très bien été fait et avec sois l'équipe médicale du neuvième étage (étage des grand brûlé) son hyper gentil et souriant et surtout que moi je venait de la ville Sorel-Tracy

I have a sever lower back injury and can't walk and the staff are treated it like less than nothing not examining me and not helping or resolving anything, actually made it worse by moving me too roughly and they're solution was just more pain killers, no x-rays nothing. Eventually they just told me the doctor won't see me anymore. It basically criminal. My back is still injured and I still can't walk.

Worst hospital in planet earth.
Waiting time more than 5 hours and they will not call you till you recover by your own.
Dont get fooled by the architect of the building outside. Staff are ignorants and most of doctors are students.
While I was in the room, I heard people complaning about discriminitaion and how the management determines the waiting time for each patient.
Over all it is a filty place and I rather recover by my own at home.
Shame on CHUM and shame on the upper management who tolaretes this type of behavious.
After all the name describes who works there.

Some of the staff here seem to have real contempt for non French-speaking people. I have worked in hospitals, so I understand the burnout and the stress of being understaffed, but this is really messed up.

I was waved away with a dismissive hand gesture and told several times “SOIS PATIENT! ” by a receptionist when I was trying desperately to ask which selection to make when choosing a number at the electronic kiosk. It was a bad start.

The nurses in triage are good, but another nurse walked away from me after giving me a lot of information in French, upon my response “Mon francais est terrible. Desolee. ” Another patient explained what she had told me. The nurse did not even attempt to explain.

DO NOT GO TO CHUM IF YOU DO NOT SPEAK FRENCH. YOU WILL BE TREATED SO POORLY. They have a vendetta, and it will effect your health.

I waited 8 hours and never saw a doctor. I had to leave because I had not arranged pet care.

The speakers announcing patients names are not loud enough, so while you are stressing about your medical emergency, you can also expect to feel nervous about missing your turn. This is for everyone, not just anglophones. French-speaking people were complaining about not hearing their names being called, too. They need to fix that, because the staff seem very bitter. They seem to lack the resources which allow for communication and compassion.

I was referred to the ER by a doctor at a clinic, for the record, and had a written referral explaining possible diagnosis (fairly serious serious condition, if that is indeed the case). It didn’t matter.

Avoid this ER. It will make you feel a lot worse. I am seeing a lot of other negative reviews left by anglos and non whites, too. I wonder if this indicates a deeper problem, one which clashes with universal medical ethics.

It’s been 5 hrs and no one saw my infection. Everyone says I don’t know how to help you just wait for the doctor!

Pire système de santé, 8h d’attente pour avoir des pointes, aucun système de triage efficace, impossible de savoir l’ordre ou le temps estimatif d’attente, ce qui oblige de rester dans l’hôpital et d’engorger davantage le système. Il manque visiblement des médecins, c’est une vrai honte avec tout l’argent envoyé au système de santé.

Le pire service de ma vie, je ne présente avec des antécédents de problème gastrique severe et des palpitations cardiaques. C'est ma 3 visite a l'urgence de cette hôpital et chaque fois ont me renvoie chez moi en mentionnant que je n'ai rien. Aucun scan, endoscopie ou coloscopie et pour mes palpitations ont me mentionne que c'est le stress et bonne journée.

Je vient ici car chaque fois c'est mon employeur qui m'envoie ici. J'ai manque plusieurs fois le travail, pour le même trouble et dans examen plus approfondi ont me renvoie chez moi.

8 heures en attente aux urgences et j'y suis toujours.

J'ai l'impression qu'il pense que je ment ou je ne sais quoi, sur le fondement d'une infirmière au triage ont me répond que c'est pas premier arrivée premier servis, et ont va même a ne mentionner que ça va selon les priorités. Alors qu'une cliente également assis à coter de moi arriver 3 heures après moi passe avant moi pour une infection urinaire.

Éviter cette hôpital pourtant flambant neuf.

ÉVITER SAUF SI VOUS AVEZ UN BRAS ARRACHER DEVANT EUX.

0 star if i could. Paid my taxes to wait 7hrs. Nobody knows anything I asked. Security was lazy. They cant even pick up papers that fell on the floor. Your life doesnt seem to be important there. Avoid this hospital at all cost

Personnellement je n'ai que des éloges pour les services que j'ai reçu de la majorité des départements avec qui j'ai eu affaire. Oui il peut arriver des lacunes ou des délais plus long mais il faudrait arrêter de penser qu'à sa petite personne et comprendre qu'il peut avoir des cas plus grave que le nôtre ou encore que le personnel est surtaxé.

C'est quand même drôle que la plupart des critiques proviennent des ethnies nouvellement arrivées et ce sont ceux qui abusent le plus du système de santé. Si votre système était si parfait pourquoi avoir quitter? Sinon vous avez juste à traverser la frontière et payer pour avoir les services que vous avez ici gratuitement.

Pis au lieu de critiquer le système devriez plutôt pointer du doigt les innocents qui engorgent nos urgences avec des cas qui devraient être vus en clinique, par un pharmacien ou même traiter à domicile.

Be sure to check the waiting time before coming here. My finger is fractured, and I have waited for 8 hours now, yet to see a doctor. I don’t recommend English speaker to come, they some times will be rude to you.

Only thing positive that I can think of is that their WiFi works fine so far.

Been here for 4 days and barely ate, big budget a giant screen t.v in the room, but they forget to feed you, then they bring you something that they found in the back of the fridge and don't even bother to heat up the soupe, showed up twice for an operation and cancelled twice because of no commucation, hospital is understaffed what sad is I'm stuck here and have no choice to come back for follow up, if you can avoid this place

It was a really nice place to stay. Clean and nice place and the team really take good care of you. I wished I could have thanked all of them but I couldnt.
Sometimes the waiting time to get the examination and the result was longer than expected but it went all well.
There is one thing I want to point out though, when the nurse wanted to find the blood vein to insert the needle, she pushed my arm too hard up to my bone that even after few days, my arm hurts and I don't know why but my blood vein is yellowish green and it is painful.
However, I have to say we are very fortunate to have benefit from the government for health care.
Oh and it is good for people with no car. The metro station is just in front!

Merci pour un accouchement bien mené. Ce n' est pas toujours le cas dans les hôpitaux, toutefois j'y ai vécu un des plus beaux moment de ma vie.
J'encourage les gens qui vivent de bonnes expériences dans le service de la santé tout comme ceux qui en ont de moins bonnes, à penser à partager leurs commentaires.

Souvent on est très critique envers les services publiques possiblement avec raison. Mais ils font aussi des bons coups et parfois je me dis que ferions nous sans tout ce personnel soignant qui est là pour nous malgré les problèmes administratifs.

Awful experience.was experiencing serious chest pain and was not able to see a doctor in 6h.left the hospital at 4am still suffering, will never go back there again thats 4 sure.

I waited for 10 hours, from 5pm to 3am in the next morning. I was cold and had a really bad flu, it had been lasted for 2 weeks. Maybe my case was not important so I was always founded in the end of the waiting list, but still, 10 hours is alot and it just made me feel tirer waiting!

Bad service, very weak organisation, i was there since 8 my appointment was scheduled at 9 but Was left there the whole day, you need to improve.

Simply its the best hospital in Montreal, exceptional staff, Amazing doctors, they are very fast and efficient in everything they do, i had a surgery over there and everything just went perfect thank you so much Dr Eric bessada from the ORL team, thanks to all the nurses over there unfortunately i can't remember all the names because they were so many but i remember Rachel an extraordinary nurse, thank you guys from all my heart

The ER nurses and doctors were perfect! This is the best experience I have had in an emergency room. I was in and out within an hour. The triage nurse recognized the severity of my condition and sent me straight to a doctor. I can’t thank these people enough!

You cannot have people waiting 4 or more hours to get medical attention. Except one of the security guards, who was rude, the staff (nurses) was good, caring and respectful. I got called for triage quite rapid. I had a cellulitis in my arm and felt terrible. After almost 5 hours waiting in the room I left. I hope I don't die.

This is not the responsibility of Drs, nurses and other personnel of the hospital. This is responsibility of the health care system. I lived several years in countries like Spain, Denmark and UK. The health care system they have is way far better than the one we have here. It's a real shame.

I hope people in Quebec and Canada can see this and push for a change.

Un hôpital où on peut en espérer beaucoup car c est le top ou la quintessence de la technologie clinique médicale et un centre de recherches de la dernière heure en constante évolution Bravo ne lâchez pas le filon c est au niveau international et on peut contrôler les soins de haut grade. Très bel hôpital, très moderne, très design et technologique. Par contre, attendre 10 heures à l'urgence avant de voir un médecin est inacceptable.
Des gardiens de sécurité harcèlent les patients pour les empêcher de s'étendre ou se reposer lors de l'interminable attente. Peu importe votre condition ou le mal dont vous souffrez, vous n'aurez droit à aucun confort. Cet endroit est inhumain.

It maybe better to stay at home and call an ambulance it will also be faster. This hospital is so slow the priority system is horrible, the conditions look good but at this pace it maybe 2020 and I will be waiting on the urgencies. Horrible! What a waste of taxpayers money

J'y suis arrivée avec un orteil casser, ils me l'ont replacer sans medicament. 2 jours après j'avais plus mal que jamais donc je vais au prive.après radio ils ont empirer la fracture et ose me dire (au chum) qu'il ne prescriront aucun anti douleur. Bravo la gang vous avez fait en sorte que j'ai encore plus mal quavant

Very bad experience, if I could give a 0 I Would do it. I have been waiting for 7hours nearly Without beeing called to see a doctor. That is seriously awful, I Will never go back to this hospital again and I don't recommand it to anyone. WE PAY TAXES IN VAIN!

Is the worst hospital ever in quebec! I'm waiting here since 8 hours only to do blood test! VERY bad service!

Quelle expérience que fut ma visite a ce centre hospitalier des plus bancales. Spotted au gars qui est venu chercher ma belle soeur tout brusquement pour l'amener a la radiographie sans se rendre compte qu'elle dormait. Plutôt que de la réveiller, il a préféré agir sans s'excuser!

Jus a date sais la meilieur hopital qui prand vraiment soin des personnes comparé autre hopieux merci au chum
