I would say this shop is positioned for the tourist predominantly in the stereotypical sense. It's a great shop. Has a wide variety of novelty and niche products. Good selection of accessories and items related to men's personal grooming, cigars, alcoholic beverage accessories, writing instruments, and so much more. Everyone knows you can most likely find the same items for le$$ either on line or at other retailers throughout the city. I've validated a few to confirm this, but what are you going to do? If you're there on St. Catherine street and walking by, it's worth a peek. I recently upgraded my rating after good reflection to 4 stars (from 3). The set up and service here are very good. Pricey depending on what you're looking for but a great 'toy store' for gentlemen. Best cigar and smoking accessory shop in Montreal.

J'y suis allé 2 fois jusqu'à présent avec mon conjoint, pour des pipe a tabac et franchement il n'y a pas de meilleur endroit. Que ce soit pour des cigares ou des pipe a tabac, ils connaissent vraiment très bien leur produit, sont d'excellent conseil et franchement le service il n'y a pas de mot pour dire à quelle point il est merveilleux.

Very weird people working in the cigar section. We went to buy a cigar today and the employee could not find his keys and kept saying he had to search us. As well as asking us to smell the cigar and before any response holding it up to our noses to smell it. It was very awkward and uncomfortable. As well as he brushed up very close to my relatives breast.
I believe they gave us such “good” customer service because we are women.

Prices might be more reasonable. My last cigar had white fungi spots on it but tasted good. I will visit time to time.

This is a great place for those with discriminating taste for quality goods and of cigars, pipe tobacco etc.would’ve given it 5 stars, but the gentleman who serves you is a little condescending and somehow found him disinterested. Regardless, I still recommend a visit, just ignore the attitude.

What an unfortunate experience. I occasionally stop in at Vasco to buy a few cigars (see the photo for a few examples from my humidor). Normally, the service is friendly and approachable. But today when I stopped in, it was an entirely different experience. The gentleman who was attending the humidors was terribly unpleasant (almost aggressive) in his demeanor, and seemed annoyed when he asked what I was looking for (n.b. This was not a case of COVID distancing. There was one other customer at the cash 15 feet away). Frankly, he was so unpleasant I left without purchasing anything, despite the fact that I was really looking forward to sitting outside and smoking a cigar after a long week at work. While I understand that with Casa closed they are one of the few shops left in the city, with the increasing availability of top-shelf product from legitimate online retailers, one would think a brick and mortar would pride itself on impeccable service. Fortunately, my humidor is well-stocked so I am in no rush to return.

This shop offers great merchandise. From chess sets to grooming accessories, every item is great and of top-end quality.
However, the store attendant (who I believe is also the owner) has such a bad aura around him. He does not make you feel welcome and seems to want you to leave the shop if you are not buying something right away. As if you are annoying him by looking at the merchandise they sell. The guy was constantly sighing and replying with a very condescending tone to any question me or my girlfriend asked.

The store is really cool.
To the owner/store attendant: Be friendly, be nice. Make whoever wonders in want to support your business instead of driving them away.

Great shop. I'm a pipe maker and smoker from Vermont, I stopped in to check out what they had in the realm of pipe tobacco and pipes. They carry some very nice pipes and had a decent selection of tobaccos. I don't know anything about cigars but was guided to buying a few cigars I am enjoying immensely. They really took the time to ask the right questions about my preferences and treated me with zero condescension as a new cigar smoker. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

I'm giving 4 starts because I'm jealous of the so many lovely things they have here and that I can't afford. LOL superb cigar selection and always useful advice with fun from Adamo or even Omar. Smoking accessories, writing instruments, unique glassware, quality men's grooming products and shaving instruments, and so much more. A toy store for men, but ladies welcome of course. I try to visit at least 4 to 5 times per year.

Je suis vraiment surpris d’avoir une aussi belle boutique de cigares. Il y a des choix uniques de cigares que vous ne trouverez pas ailleurs. Je suis allé à de nombreuses places à Montréal et pour le choix de cigare, c’est mon top 1. Il y a d’autres articles luxueux pour homme et ça fait du bien d’avoir ce type de magasin en ville.

Le service a été très bon. J’ai calculé le taux d’humidité des 4 cigares que je me suis procuré et ils étaient tous à 70 degrés. Mon seul petit bémol est de ne pas avoir pris le temps de regarder mes cigares. J’ai acheté un Cohiba Coronas Especiales et je me suis aperçu que la cape était déchirée.une fois dans la voiture.

Il faut que tu comptes 5 à 8 $ de plus par cigare. Oui c’est un peu plus cher, mais le lieu est beau, propre, bien situé et offre du TRÈS beau choix.

Personnel très impoli et méprisant. Ne salue pas les clients à leur entrée ni n’est disponible pour conseiller.
De plus, pas de port du masque.

I used to spend all my free time at Home Depot. Now I spend it at Vasco because it really is the best buying experience a man can have. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Relocating from Germany, they carry all the best stuff and their prices are fair/inline.

I got great advice on a straight razor kit while my wife got the royal treatment as she shopped for Lamp Berger refills and Champagne glasses. I ended up also with a Cuban cigar and some accessories. I didn‘t want to leave! Highly recommended.

Bought cigars here every couple months or so - they are usually condescending, like I'm wasting their time, even though the total always comes out to over 100$. Recently hit the last nerve for me, pretty sure it was the owner - buy cheaper cigars and he will scoff at you, made me feel bad about my purchase. I'm going to order online from now on, just to not have to deal with cigar snobs. Deeply disappointed as I enjoyed their selection and location.

I'm like a kid in a candy store when I go here. I have purchased cigars with related accessories in addition to shaving/grooming related items. It's a shame that they are located so far from my home. Maybe it's a good thing? LOL I'd probably be here every week! Adamo/Omar/Nicole are very nice and provide personalized service. Adamo spent lots of time with me giving me tips, advice, and insight into the various cigar and grooming items I was interested in. I'm saving some $$ to go back in a few months for more indulgences. Premium cigars not typically found in other Montreal area establishments like Davidoff and Ashton. Brizard, Lotus, Colibri, Xigar, and ST Dupont accessories all on display and plenty in stock. The best customer service that I had experienced in quite a while! The gentleman who helped me pick what I needed was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, giving me the best options within my price range and helping me choose the right one for me.

Honestly one of the best cigar shops. Better than any I’ve seen in London, Kuala Lumpur and Toronto. The prices are normal ranges considering how weak the Canadian dollar is. The staff are pleasant and there is a great selection.

I had previously gone to Vascos and had a bad experience with the customer service, but I recently went back as I thought I would give them another chance, and I am happy I went. All the employees were very helpful with all my questions, and made me feel comfortable in their store. Will going here again for future purchases!

Un endroit pour les gentlemen et gentlewomen. Une bonne sélection de cigares (tout le marché, pas juste les cubains) et cigarillos en bonne condition et bien conservés sur place. Ils vendent plusieurs objets luxueux. C'est un bel environnement à la hauteur des produits vendus. J'ai jeté un rapide coup d'œil à leur pipes qui semblent être des modèles luxueux, ils vendent du tabac à pipe. Vendeurs bien informés et très polis.

Great stores with various accessories as well as friendly staff. Rating is a 3 star because of time and money wasted. I went in two weeks ago to buy a secrid for my fiancé. As I was about to make the purchase, I asked one of the store clerks if they offered engraving in which they did however the engraver would only be returning in about 2-3 weeks. After a wee, I called back to find out when the engraver would return in which they said a week and a half. A week and a half later after the same store clerk I purchased the secrid from told me to pass by this week after 1: 00. Upon meeting him, I told the engraver what I wanted done and he did an exceptional job. However, at the end he stated he had to charge me for the engraving? $10 for the machine and 1 for every letter added. It would have cost me $47 but because of confusion he charged me $30. Firstly, every other company offers free engraving (especially after paying $100 for a wallet), secondly, the representative could have informed me the DAY I inquired about the engraving rather than letting two weeks pass by and looking stupid in front of the engraver thinking this service was free. Thirdly, an "are you aware that there is a charge" would have been helpful. The engraving again looks beautiful, but had I known it would be an additional $47 on top of my $100, I would have brought my service elsewhere. Very unprofessional on your part!

Omar and Rafi (sorry if the names are butchered) are the ones who helped me. They are literally the best. For the few minutes that we've interact together, they're very nice and funny.

Amazing cigar store. The cool young man named Raffi was great. Very knowledgeable and honest. Can't have asked for more when I was looking for a good cigar during my stay in Ottawa. Highly recommend and will return!

I don't know too much about cigars and was looking to get some for my dad as it is his birthday. One of the employees took the time to help me out and explain to me what he think my dad would like and why. Overall, fantastic service.

Reasonable prices, English French service and friendly staff. So so safety razor selection but they've got the basics covered. Their inventory is mostly Mühle and merker.
Fountain pen selection is also excellent with lots of lamy pens of all colours and combinations.
They didn't have an EF tip in the pen I wanted so they swapped it out for me with no questions asked.
Highly recommended this store.
