Very favourable post here, and a bit long, after my first experience with Codell.

After numerous years of faithful service, my best friend’s Linn Kairn preamp suddenly wouldn’t turn on. I recommended to have it examined by Linn’s local retailer’s technician, Lucas, Codell’s in-house magician. The internal power supply had died. As no replacement power supply was available, from Linn or other sources, Lucas designed and assembled one, only to find out, once his “creation” was installed, that the preamp would still not work properly. Replacing parts was not sufficient, identifying the cause of these newly found failures (there 3 or 4) was necessary. This only reinforced Lucas’s determination to solve whatever problems there were, and he did.

Lucas called some 12 days ago to tell me “it was like in a Frankenstein movie, there was thunder, I plugged it and it was alive”. Lucas’s magic worked! The Kairn was put back in service a few days later, my friend is happy, and Lucas is happy.

My friend and I wish to commend Lucas for his talent and his determination. I am certain numerous technicians would have given up upon finding out that no off-the-shelf replacement power supply was available.

Lucas’s and Christian’s concern for client satisfaction is also certainly commendable. Let alone the long time my friend and I spent speaking with Christian, when we went to pickup the Kairn, about a long list of tweaks and add-ons that generally better sound systems, all without any incitement or pressure to buy this or that.

Based on this experience, I can only and gladly recommend Codell: competence, concern for client satisfaction, and passion.

J'ai fait affaire avec Codell en début de semaine. Il avait un amplificateur qui m'intéressait beaucoup. Ca m'a pris de temps avant de faire passer à l'acte parce que j'adorais déjà mon ampli. Ils ont été très patient avec moi, professionnel, ils m'ont offert d'apporter mon ampli et de faire des test A/B. Je suis plus que content de mon achat, de l'état de mon nouvel ampli exactement comment il me l'avait dit et de ma transaction en général. Je referais affaire avec eux dans le futur avec plaisir. My experience at Codell was positive from start to finish. You get a relaxed, no pressure, friendly atmosphere where the staff take their time to listen to your needs. I ended up buying a pair of Dynaudio Contour 60i speakers at a great deal without all the hype and pressure sales tactics that I've experienced from other retailers. Isodore and his staff are professionals that respect their customers. I even got a call from "Izzy" to check up on me while I was unexpectedly hospitalized. Great service, very knowledgeable and great guys. I highly recommended Codell for your audio needs.

J'ai tout récemment conclu l'achat d'une nouvelle paire d'enceintes et sur l'une d'elle avait un léger défaut de fabrication. C'est dans une situation comme celle-ci que les meilleurs se démarquent. I bought all of my sound system at Codell Audio. Dynaudio speakers C2, Bryston 4B3, Naim NDS and all Audience Front row cables. The staff is very knowledgeable and I am extremely happy with the end result. The sound is amazing and thanks to all of the suggestions. I recommend this store to anyone for any budget.

Took my 2 Totem Arrow speakers to fix the woofers, super friendly Staff, very experienced and they make you feel at home. Franck called me a few times to keep me informed about the progress and cost of fixing. The speakers are back like new. If you go, ask them to make you experience the cinema room, it’s epic sound and picture! Thank you all

Je fait affaire avec Codell Audio depuis 2015 et je dois dire que leur service est tout à fait exceptionnel. Jamais l'équipe de Isidore, Todd ou Frank on fait de la vente à pression. J'ai pu au fil des ans passé de nombreuses heures à écouter de nouveaux appareils, et ce sans contrainte, afin de maximiser mes investissements. Ces gens sont devenus des amis. Je recommande à quiconque qui a la passion de la musique et de la haute fidélité de faire un arrêt chez Codell Audio. En passant vous serez servi aussi bien en français qu'en anglais.

We visited Codell Audio for a wireless speaker and received great advice and service! We left with a product perfect for our needs. What impressed us even more, was with the after sales service required setting up our new speaker. Maybe we could say the issue was poor manufacturer set up instructions and perhaps it was the users (two luddites), but Codell's first comment when we finally called was "why did you not call earlier! " Not only was our issue solved, but we received proactive recommendations to improve our listening experience. We are very pleased!

After getting a great deal on a demo Hegel 590 and a pair of Dynaudio Focus 380 last year, it was time to upgrade the TV and surround sound. I got a good deal on a high-end Sony TV, a great looking BDI furniture unit and bought a MRX 740 from Anthem with 2 ceiling speakers and 2 REL subs to upgrade my surround system. The equipment choice is perfect, but the installation and configuration services received were at another level. I went to Codell Audio to upgrade my old B&W speakers after decades of use and received a wonderful service, pleasant and professional, and very personalized to my needs and budget. Great service, nice guys, very knowledgable staff. Amazing selection of HI-FI equipment. I purchased a ZENmini Music server from innuos as well as a nice pair of Skylan speaker stands which were floor models. The ZENmini music server is an impressive piece of equipment with many positive reviews. It is very user friendly, simple to set up and enables you to import music files and burn CD's with ease. Seems like a much better alternative to using a laptop or desktop to play and store your music. It came with two TB's of storage. The price tag is very reasonable. This music server does what is says it will. I recommend looking into it. Well done guys.

My first (but not last) experience with Codell Audio. I purchased the Magnepan LRS after numerous back and forth contact with Isadore. He invited me for an audition and everything he said about the product was spot on and more. One of the best purchases I have ever made in audio.

UPDATE.
After a few weeks with these wonderful speakers, I upgraded my preamp with a Bryston BP17 Cubed. I am a huge Bryston fan and I called Isadore about a demo unit he had in stock. He made me a great price and the deal was done.
First of all, the Magnepan LRS was one of the best purchases I have ever made in audio no matter the price and now along with a great preamp, I am very happy with the results.
Once again, the service was above par and personal. Thanks again for the 5 star service.

I recently discovered Codell Audio. I wanted interested in purchasing a Rel sub (I ulitmately bought a second one). I called the store and spoke to Mr Isadore. He gave great advice and told me he could ship the subwoofer to me and keep it for a week to make sure I was satisfied. Of course I was! Luckily for me, Rel subs were on sale. I can't wait for the pandemic to be over so that I can drop by to meet Mr Isadore in person andvisit the store.

Il y a quelques endroits Hi-Fi à Montréal mais peu m'ont offert le type d'expérience que Isadore Nudell chez Codell m'a offert. Non seulement ai-je eu droit à des informations judicieuses mais également un bref historique des 40 dernières années de la haute-fidélité. Le tout s'ext culminé avec une session d'écoute de quelques heures afin que je jette mon dévolu sur de merveilleux Spendor A7! Merci Codell. J'y avais acheté mon premier système il y a plus de 30 ans.

Service exceptionnel. Je suis allé chez Codell car mon amplificateur ne voulait plus allumer, et bien que je ne l'avais pas acheté chez eux ils l'ont inspecté sans frais et ont réglé mon problème rapidement: un fusible de grillé. L'équipe chez Codell est honnête, transparente et très agréable, la raison pour laquelle l'achat d'audio haut de gamme doit se faire en magasin plutot que sur internet. 5 étoiles.

I'm a new client of Codell but it doesn't take long to understand why they've been in business for over 30 years. Competence, great advice and superb service. Issie is very knowledgeable, a gentlement and was able to propose a fantastic streaming solution that allowed me to salvage my existing speakers. These guys are the best in the business. If you want honest, professional advice a good deal on a quality audio system and great service, don't waiste your time going anywhere else.

I have been a customer at Codell Audio for about 7 years. They hooked me up with my first high-end turntable. Then to my next one & an amplifier. Izzie and Todd are great people to work with. Last weekend I went to get my turntable updated with a new cartridge (Nagaoka MP-200) that was recommended by Izzie. He installed it & did some maintenance on the turntable as well. I am very pleased with this new upgrade. Great staff that are knowledgeable & helpful.

And let’s face it, for most of us ordinary mortals, that support is indispensable in meeting the mechanical, electronic, electrical, and acoustical challenges of our somewhat esoteric pastime. My first encounter with the store was nine years ago. Unaware it participated in the boxing day tradition, I went by a day early. Issie took the rest of the day to discuss my entry-level needs and demonstrate components in the listening room. Had he pushed the pace, our transaction would have been completed by the end of the afternoon. Instead, he ushered me through my intro to audio slowly and patiently, leaving paperwork and payment for the following day– boxing day– at which time I received the discount price on the package we had put together the day before! In the following nine years, Codell has helped me through many an upgrade entailing countless hours in the store auditing equipment and weighing decisions. Throughout I have been struck by how common it is to bump into longtime customers. Interesting also is how many seem to treat their business at Codell as a pleasant social occasion.
