Comfort Suites Downtown

I won’t be as rude as some other reviews but I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms. Mostly the floor. Not sure if it needs a deep cleaning or it was because of the poor a/c but it felt dirty. Otherwise, our stay was adequate. The breakfast was good. Eggs, sausage, toast, juice. They had other stuff but I enjoyed that every morning. The elevator down button doesn’t work so you have to go up a floor or 7 depending on if someone is in the elevator already, then you can select the RC or 1st floor. Annoying but I was never late because of it… it didn’t really add much time. Location was good plenty within walking distance. As for parking yeah it was extra but you’re right down town, to be expected and they weren’t strange, strangers maybe, but I trusted them and they didn’t disappoint me. Also, they’re not affiliated with the hotel. So only downside for me was the dirty floor. I can deal with everything else.

Honest Review!
I went there for 1 night to celebrate my brother’s birthday.
The only thing which i liked in my stay is the staff, they let me checked in early as my room was ready and we arrived early in Montreal.
The Drawback is the ‘Cleanliness’. I would give 0 out of 10. I know we are not paying much for the hotel, but we still don’t want to see dirt, insects and molds around us. Starting from there reception there was No AC! Lift took atleast 5-10 mins to either come up or down. One time i even called receptionist from my room to do something about lift as it wasn’t coming up. So He came along with the elevators to pick us up. We did the reservation in restaurant which is 2 mins walk hardly and we got late there just because of that!
Also there phones dont work if you want to call at reception for anything, we legit went back and forth to get stuff. We did the booking for 5 people, I can’t believe it they gave us to queen bed which hardly fits two people.and gave fifth person a sofa bed to sleep I mean fifthe person is still a human being and contributing in the trip equally. No beddings for the fifthe person, i went at reception to pick it.
Also, for Parking they don’t mention that they don’t have parking spot, It was a private parking opposite to hotel which chrged us $30 and also its the policy we had to leave the keys with completely strange people. But fortunately nothing wrong happened.
So that was my experience! Never coming back will prefer paying little more and getting better hotel!

Nous avons été piqués pendant notre sommeil et à notre retour nous avons eu la mauvaise surprise d’apprendre qu’il s’agit de piqûres de punaises de lit, l’HORREUR!
Dommage car cet hôtel était correct, bien situé et le personnel de réception agréable.

Très déçue de la dernière visite, en partant. Ayant laissé un bien dans la chambre, qui a été introuvé.
Quelque jours plus tard le suivi a été fait et le bien acheminé! Service personnalisé selon la regularité des clients!

The place smelled highly like cigarettes and marijuana, but still relatively clean. Service was fine, they however do not do daily housekeeping. The room I had was nice but beside the stairwell so you can hear everyone going up/down. This got really bad since the elevators were really slow and most people relied on the staircase to get to their rooms.

Don’t bring your kids here and if you need a cheap hotel, just go to another hotel brand like Holiday Inn, you’ll get your moneys worth.

Premièrement, c'est le pire service à la clientèle que j'ai reçu dans les dernières années dans un hôtel. Tout est un fardeau quand on leur demande quelque chose. Les personnes à la réception se font un plaisir de nous dire: Nous ne pouvons pas faire ça!
1 ascenseur de fonctionnelle pour 10 étages environ. Nous avions 2 déjeuners d'inclus pour les 2 jours.le dimanche c'était fermé et on nous a dit: il y a du café au pire!
La chambre est correct sans plus mais extrêmement bruyante. Nous avons demandé la sécurité 2 fois acc d'une fête au balcon supérieur. Bref, cet hôtel ne mérite pas votre intérêt.passez au suivant surtout si vous recherchez un service adéquat!

We had book a room for a city view and we got a view to people's apartments.the rooms and hallways are a bit outdated. If you're going with kids be aware there are a few night clubs right by the hotel.

Staff great; hotel is a disaster. Don’t stay here. I have never felt the need to do a review but after my very recent stay at this “hotel”, I need to. The rooms are terrible. Mold in the bathroom: stains on carpet; cigarette holes in the bedding; balcony doors that are not secure; elevators that are broken. This hotel was probably at its prime in the 80s but it is anything but now. Again, don’t waste your time or money staying there.

Hotel was clean and staff polite. When booking on phone for july 15 to 17 they told us we will get 2 queen beds in 2 rooms. Guy on phone said he will book it 1 queen and pull out but will be 2 queens when we got there which was not the case. We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. They don't have their own parking and the parking attendant was rude the 1st 5 min we arrived. Not pleasant after driving 6 hours to get there with 2 teens and a 7 year old. He made me pay and with his head in a register said terms and conditions like he was in an auction. I only picked up that you must leave keys with them. When I asked if we can use the car he yells you don't listen do you. When I yell back and turn to his co workers telling him this is his job and I can ask questions a million times his co workers turned their backs to me. Sketchy parking.good thing my balcony faced my car which I checked in frequently. They move your car around a lot. Breakfast was ok but no where to sit as room is small. We took it to our rooms.

Everything was good couldn't complain but the only thing I found sketch was leaving my keys with the parking attendant.but I confirmed with the hotel and the supervisor said it was okay they move the cars at the end of the night to fill all parking space and the parking attendant leave the keys with the hotel so u can use it.

The fully equipped fitness room was a joke, instead of working equipment there where two dirty treadmills in a badly ventilated room

Location is good. Except being SCAM paid for an extra cost for Cityview but got the back of the building with garbages and parking on the ground. I made the complaint and the checked in agent said "it is a Cityview view just the it's built like a condo

Centrally located and the staff is nice it is affordable are the plusses. The minuses.the elevator is slooooow. The hallway smells like a boys locker room, the breakfast room has no AC. Rooms are fair and clean. Easy to get to lots of shopping, restaurants and tourist attractions. People at the front desk were very helpful. The place needs a reno, then it would be great!

My wife and I are on a 4500 mile motorcycle trip, and stay in different hotels almost every night. I was looking at the reviews for this hotel the night before our scheduled stay, and was frankly terrified at some of the comments. I was so worried that as soon as we checked into our room I checked all the things that other people were griping about. Thankfully, none of those things happened to us. It is an old hotel, but it is in a great area for sightseeing, and you cannot beat the price. It was a very comfortable, quiet, more than adequate hotel. The elevators work, the faucets and water pressure were acceptable, and I would recommend this hotel for anyone

I would give this hotel 0 stars if I could. This hotel is not even remotely clean. Our hotel room had hair all over the floor and garbage from the previous visitors. I could tell that even the doors haven’t been cleaned in YEARS as there were black finger prints all over them. God knows if the carpets are cleaned and if they even wash the sheets.

5/5 would recommend if you're looking for a cheap place to stay in downtown Montreal. Other hotels in this area are insanely expensive. This was the cheapest hotel we could find and it was great value for the price. The hotel may appear small and rundown at first but the room itself was perfect for our needs. Very big and spacious. We had 2 queen beds, free wifi, cable TV, a desk with a chair, a small table with 2 loveseat chairs, microwave, mini fridge, A/C, and small balcony overlooking the city. The beds were very comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. They offer free breakfast with coffee, juice, toast, fruit, cereal, yogurt, eggs, and sausages. The location is optimal, close to restaurants, bars, clubs, stores, etc. We parked our car right across the street in a lot for $25 CAD each day. We walked everywhere and there was also a metro station nearby. The only downside is that it's a little loud at night due the location being downtown but the A/C fan blocked out the noise just fine.

Very fiendly staff! They always try to help. The breakfast is really good. The location is just perfect, you are close to everything since it is downtown.

I had to cancel my stay due to the event i was to attend being cancelled, my booking was through expedia, this property / owner refused to refund my cancelled stay. It was cancelled due to covid, this owner of this hotel outright kept my money for no services rendered, they are thieves and basically dont give a dawn on how customers feel in the end, Stay away from this this hotel and from expedia.ca they are impossible to deal with, lots of other hotels that offer better stays for your money.

Super bon service. Chambre très propre avec balcon vue sur le centre-ville. La porte du garde-robe était brisée c'est le seul point négatif. Sinon les employés sont vraiment sympathiques.

Bel hôtel avec un personnel très courtois. Le bémol est les jeunes asiatiques/indiens anglophones qui n’ont pas respectés les autres clients de l’hôtel.merci aux agents de sécurité qui ont pas arrêter de monter les étages pour leurs dire d’arrêter de faire du bruit et de les envoyer dans leurs chambres

Great location and friendly staff but would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Old and worn down and not well kept. 14 floors and only 1 elevator. The other elevator broke down last year and the owners will not pay to fix it. Neither elevators were working one morning. No room service so no one cleans your room until you check out so your stuck with garbage during the entire time you're there. Disgusting place.

Arrived at this hotel at 4am to find a place to stay and once we got our room found blankets with holes, stains and tears. The towels in the bathroom had blood and makeup stains and I did not feel clean staying here. When I asked for a refund I was refused and told they didn’t have any cash left. Calvin lied and told me he had no money to give me, the manager then told me to get off the property. I did not feel welcomed at this gross rundown hotel.

Hôtel correct. La chambre était propre à notre arrivée. Les rideaux ne cachent pas le soleil le matin. Ascenseur très lent et seulement 1/2 fonctionne.

Il est noté qu il y a un parking alors que l hôtel n en a pas. C'est un petit espace sur lequel on peut mettre la voiture pour 50dollars, payable qu en espèces, la journée et où le "gardien"nous demande les clés de la voiture pour les garder. La chambre, les draps n étaient pas propres. Un lit était prêt alors que nous étions trois.nous avons du demander d autres draps pour le clic clac. Nous avions que deux serviettes de toilette dont une avait des tâches de rouille.sur le bureau les dosettes de sucre étaient entamées, la carte d accès des clients précédents était encore sur le bureau.

Rooms and bathroom were clean. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. But, the shower in my room wouldn't turn on so they had to give me the key to the room next door just so I could shower. One of the elevators was out of service. In the morning when I went to check out, the other elevator wasn't working correctly either. I got in and it wouldn't let me press the button for the ground floor and instead took me to the 11th floor (I was on the 2nd floor.) I got off at the 11th to wait for it to go up the rest of the way but the button to call it to go down wouldn't work either. I had to go down a floor to call the elevator and eventually it came down. But it stalled twice on the decent and didn't move for a couple minutes each time until we opened and re-closed the doors. For $170 taxes included, this wasn't worth it to me. I've been to more functional hotels that cost half that price without sacrificing quality. The area is really great with lots of bars and close to restaurants and touristy things, but the hotel needs a bit of TLC.and maybe a lower price.

We had an issue with the booking site but the experienced and friendly staff at the front desk helped us immediately. The room was clean and very nice. Above average stay!

Old hotel, just 1 elevator working, rooms smell bad, balcony view is an old building and an alley full of garbage and homeless people.
WAY overpriced even for the location. Try others before this one.

The room was nice and spacious. The problem is there not properly stocked. We were 4 people they only gave us 2 face cloths, 2 hand towels and 2.body towels. I had to use toilet paper to wipe my face. Called front desk 3 times while waiting 40min to get extra towels then proceeded to call and see where they were and the front desk told me to come down and get it. Breakfast was atrochous. In the paper bag they gave as follows, granola bar, 2 mini dollar store croissants, honey pack and some disgusting croissant with chocolate in it it was packed with very cheap snaps as apposed to breakfast. My family couldn't even smell it let alone eat it.

Super vue de la chambre. J’ai bien aimé. J’ai été chanceux, j’ai trouvé en stationnement dans la rue en face de l’hôtel donc cetais gratuit. Aussi non stationnement payant et public en face de l’hôtel. J’ai trouver dommage le petit déjeuner une pomme, muffin et un oeuf pain dejeuner froid. Mais j’imagine que c’est en raison de la covid

La chambre est bien pour le prix. Toutefois, la toilette était bloquée et même avec un tire-bouchon, impossible de la débloquer. Nos voisins de la 706 criaient et écoutaient de la musique de 22h à 1h30 du matin. Même après avoir avertis la réception deux fois, ça continue. Le garçon de la réception est toutefois gentil et compréhensif.

Très bruiyant, pas de place pour petit déjeuner, on était obligé d'être debout! Rien à manger en arrivant, tout était vide, c'est inadmissible!

A little overpriced. Great location but lots of homeless and beggars as soon as you walk out of the front door. No parking available you have to park across the street for 25$ a day. Beds were very comfortable but the rooms were a little run down (cracks in walls, peeling wallpaper, unfinished dry wall in washroom and closet, carpet had a huge crease and water stain, very low water pressure). Breakfast was pretty good. Had eggs and sausage all 3 days. Balcony was nice but very close to your neighboring rooms which is a little unsafe. Halls and neighbouring rooms all smelled like marijuana so I don't think they enforce the no smoking. Which was a disappointment. Not a very kid friendly hotel. Great view on the east side

The pull-out bed was awful I ended up sleeping on the floor. The city view was great. The breakfast was OK.

Booked a room from Thursday, June 20 to Saturday, June 22 & let me just say it was awful. The first room I was in (#308) had bed bugs! Got 2 bites on my hand the first night, didn't think anything of it because they usually bite in 3's. By the second night when I brought my boyfriend back with me, he woke me up because there was a bedbug crawling right towards me on the pillow! Got 5 more bites on that arm. Called the front desk, they offered me a room on a higher level (#801 this time). I went and inspected it and found yet another bug on that bed (I have video proof of the live bug as well as the bites on my left arm & hand!). So I checked out at midnight on Friday (June 21). When asked about refunding my second night, they told me only the manager could do that and only after he got the hotel inspected. Went back today (June 25, my sons birthday!) to speak with the manager. Was treated with disrespect and hostility, tried to say I was the one carrying bed bugs. Insisted he already got the hotel inspected (which is impossible considering it was the weekend and Saint Jean Baptiste yesterday so EVERYTHING WAS CLOSED!). Would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It's disgusting and the staff were so rude. I will be making a formal complaint to the city, especially to ensure a REAL inspection is done by a PROFESSIONAL & ACCREDITED company. My advice? Forget this hotel and splurge for something more expensive in Dorval, it's more worth it (they don't have bedtime critters). If I could give no stars, I would. I also tried to post this review on their website but they said it didn't follow their "review guidelines". Which means they're trying to force people into giving good reviews. Not this girl though. I tell the truth. And the truth is, this hotel is absolutely disgusting in every aspect.

Sleep for the entire stay. The rooms were also very clean and housekeeping staff very friendly! I noticed the whole staff of this hotelare very friendly & helpful and always accommodated our requests with a genuine smile (front desk as well as management). The full breakfast was also very good and the central location of this
hotel is excellent, we found is a perfect walking distance to many places and to Montreal's Central Station.

Stayed here during Formula 1 and was terribly disappointed for the price paid. It is located in a fantastic location. The room ended up being quiet and included a breakfast; however, the condition of the hotel, cleanliness and the view to the alley was terrible. It was not a safe feeling. This is a low value hotel so only stay if you can get a good rate.

Not terrible, but there are better places to stay for 200$, the bathroom looked rough around the edges and the wallpaper was coming off the wall in some places. Not to mention there wasn't a parking lot so we had to leave our keys with some guy at a "parking" shack for 25$. Would not recommend.

Location 5 stars, anywhere you want to go downtown Montreal, this hotel isnt far. Now if you want a luxury hotel, this isnt what you would want. The age is starting to show, tiny elevators.if your claustrophobic dont take these elevators. I'm being serious. There is overnight parking accross the street for 25 $. If your a couple on your honeymoon.not the best spot, its on crescent street so it gets loud at night, right accross from Hurleys pub and the crobar lounge.drunken 20 year olds are loud lol. Those are the reasons for the 3 stars. Now if your looking for a night on the town. 5 stars for sure. Rooms have balconies, not all of them so be sure to ask and there is a depanneur accross the street.for last minute beer runs before bar hoping or going to a concert. Great location for those purposes. Business trip not great idea either.so highly recommend group of friend, night on the town.go to this place.balconies.

The hotel was under renovation.carpets ripped up, room was a disaster. Refrigerator did not work, had a window to a tiny balcony that did not close securely.balcony unsafe.elevator had carpet ripped up.this hotel should either be closed for renovations or people should be told in advance before you book it that full blown renovations will be going on and then you can choose whether to stay or not I was booked in for a romantic holiday with my fiancé before getting married and I had to leave because it really did not even deserve any star rating at all, however the reception people were very nice the manager was very nice so I just wanted everybody to know the people are very nice but the hotel needs to be renovated and guest need to know about it before hand

Property is okay. Kind of looking a bit worn. If you need new and shiny this isn't for you. If not and want a good price point for downtown go for it.

Great location, price, and staff. We loved that the room had a balcony, but it was really dirty on the outside (mostly the window). Breakfast is good but there's not a lot of room to move around or sit, depending what time you go down. Biggest complaint is that our toilet paper and face cloths weren't replenished the second day, but not a huge deal. I would stay here again for sure!

Good breakfast room was clean and comfortable excellent location for shopping and to walk to old Montreal. Lots of places around to eat and most amenities are nearby.

This place is reasonable for when you are staying over with friends.
I really don't recommended this place for families just because across the street is where many people are drinking and eating late at night in the bars of restaurants.
It's very noisy from lots of construction. They don't have their own parking lot so you would need to park your car at the lot beside the hotel and leave your key with them just in case they need to move your car around to adjust other cars. I didn't like that.
The staff are super friendly and the rooms are very simple. They do need an upgrade.

If you want to sleep past 7 am forget it. I woke up to jack hammers and dump trucks this morning while staying here. Everything else was good but sleep is #1.

Location is awesome! Just up the street you've got all the shopping and restaurants you want! It's on a side street which is nice - helps keep the actual hotel quiet! The room was nice and big! Downside is that there is no parking on the premises, but they work with a lot across the street to secure your car! Friendly counter staff - super helpful when we had to make a change to our reservation. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent hotel for the price. Great selection for the morning breakfast, within walking distance to the mall, shops, restaurants etc. The bed was very comfy, coffee in lobby 24/7.

It's a great clean hotel located in downtown the rooms have a balcony facing downtown or the city my room was on the 9th floor facing downtown I had a 2 queen bed and the room was clean breakfast is good it's a nice hotel but the housekeepers aren't very friendly

L'etat de l'edifice en general est moyenne. Les portes slider du loby qui n'ouvre pas faut passer par la petite porte qui se coince. Un petit chauffage d'appoint sur 110v dans le loby qui ne fournira jamais et qui prend du courrant a la tonne. Les ascensseurs defraichie montre qu'elles ont eu de meilleurs jours. Une odeur de vieux tapis rendu a l'etage de notre chambre. Dans la chambre ca semble correct a premiere vue. Il y a une 2e porte au fond de la chambre qui donne acces a un balcon.cette porte ne ferme pas bien le frois entre de partout et le bruit aussi. On entend pas les voisins mais le derriere de la batisse est tres bruyante.des cris de gens jusqu'a 3h, les eboueur a 6h et la construction a 6h30.un samedi matin? Selon moi ca ne vaut pas le prix de 113$. Je dirais plutot un hotel a 39.95$. J'ai ete dans des hotels pres des aeroport qui etait moins bruyant. Je suis decu de ma nuit et encore plus du reveil.je suis plus fatigué que la veille et j'ai encore une grosse journée devant moi.

Hotel is clean, rooms are really nice and beds, most of all, were super comfortable. The hotel itself is on crescent St which is right in the entertainment district so great to go out and have a quick walk back to the hotel. There isn't much to complain about given the price and I would absutely stay again.

We didn’t expect luxury, but we expected basic cleanliness, especially for nearly 250$ per night (long weekend price). There was dirt in each corner of the room, concerning stains on the carpets and even on a flyer placed directly on the bed. There were greasy handprints on the headboard and in the windows. A message from a past patron appeared in the mirror as it fogged. Everything was in a state of disrepair, from the ripped leather desk chair to the shower curtain that refused to stay closed, thereby leaving a small wading pool on the bathroom floor after a quick shower. Do not book a stay in this garbage* hotel.

* Where you get to ride the elevator with actual garbage bags.

AWFUL!

Upon opening up the hide-a-bed, there was hair on the mattress.and you could feel every spring with the touch of a hand. Informing the front desk they suggested a cot. Only for a WORSE bed to be delivered to our room. MASSIVE brown stains and cigarette burn marks were visibly noticeable, and once again nothing but a bed of hard metal springs with a layer of dirty fabric.
Other solutions? No!
We were told we could settle with what we got or check out. No other customer service was provided.
This would be acceptable for a 50$ room. NOT one that costs hundreds of dollars a night.
