My Mom's hot water would always smell like Sulphur. I started to research ways to fix this and that is when I found this product. I ordered it, installed it (not thinking it would really work) and in a day the smell was gone!

Seems to do the job of eliminating smells. We are running the hot water temperature a little hotter than previously, maybe five degrees.

Works exactly as they say, I installed them in water heaters that sit unused forweek to 10 days, and water would smell of Sulphur.
They have been in for 10 days, no hot water use, last light there was no smell in the hit water.
Too soonn to know if it will affect the calcium deposits.

This product was easy to install. A bit more difficult because I have a GE Geospring water heater. Otherwise no problem. Arrived next day and will hopefully provide many years of service and extend the life of my water heater. Mostly it is one and done!

Replaced our water softener and hot water heater at the same time. Went with a Morton softener and Richmond XR90. Having well water I was savvy to the hot water smelling issue so I put an aluminum anode rod in the brand new tank. The hot water was smell free for a month until it started to stink. I drained the tank and installed the thick magnesium anode that came with the tank. A couple of weeks later the hot water smelled worse than it did when I took the aluminum anode rod out.
Having researched this issue and heard about Corro-protec, I wanted to try the aluminum rod first due to cost. Also when I was discussing this issue early on with a guy who works for a local water treatment company, he said they install the Corro-Protecs for customers with well water for this very same reason.

A few weeks ago we bit the bullet and bought the Corro-Protec electric anode rod on Amazon. As of now, the hot water is smell free and we are very happy with the results. I passed this info on to another couple who have an issue with smelly well water coming from their hot water heater. Hopefully our brand new water heater will see a longer service life from this anode rod. 5 stars!

This product was easy to install (once we got the old anode rod out!) And it has worked well so far to greatly reduce the sulfur smell in our hot water! Looking forward to not having to change the old style rods every 3-5 years.

I admit I was skeptical but hopeful that this would work. So far I’ve been pleasantly surprised. The odor disappeared almost immediately. Two weeks now and still good. Hope it continues.

I ordered the Corro-Protec electronic anode device for my hot water tank as I live in the country with well water and was starting to have sour smelling water. I looked online and came across this product and read the reviews.
I had changed the anode with a magnesium rod approximately three weeks prior to ordering as there was a slight smell in the water. After putting the new magnesium rod in and flushing the tank I found within three or four days, that the smell progressively got worse. I had also tried turning up the hot water tank heat /elements, and had heard that this will lesson the smell as well.
In two weeks of having the new magnesium anode in, I was having sputtering at all taps and the smell was quite bad.
I had to do something so I ordered the Corto-Protec device and installed it in about 15 minutes and within six hours the smell had lessoned to a point I could barely smell it anymore.and within eight hours the smell was completely gone!
I have already mentioned to a few people who I work with who live in the country to definitely purchase this device with a 20 year warranty backing it. I’m very pleased, very satisfied and the girlfriend can wash and bathe again, without it smelling like we were in the sulphur pits at Old Faithful!

We have lived in our home 20+ years and have always had issues with our well water. About 10 years ago we installed a whole house filtration system and still found that we had to deal with a sulpher smell from our hot water heaters. This last year I researched options on line and found out about the Corro-Protect anode rods. I asked our plumber to install them in the new heaters we purchased a a week ago. They have totally worked! It is still early days but if they continue to provide odor free water for even a year it is money well spent and a win! This absolutely works to eliminate the rotten egg/sulphur smell from hot water! Our water comes from a community well and we had to install a water softener years ago to condition the water. We had to replace our rusted-out-10-year-old hot water heater 3 months ago. Within 1 month of use, however, our hot water started smelling like rotten eggs. Our water softener checked out to be fine, so we checked the troubleshooting guide for the new hot water heater. It recommended turning up the thermostat to a much higher temperature to eliminate the bacteria causing the smell.what? ! In addition, the instructions said that we would likely need to check/replace the anode rod that comes inside the tank every 6 months if we continued to have the "smelly water" problem. Our plumber recommended just removing the anode rod altogether to get rid of the smell - BUT that it would void the warranty AND probably cause the tank to rust out in about 10 years!

After a bit of online research and product reviews by customers who described the exact issue, we came across the Corro-Protec product solution. We replaced the current brand new, smelly anode rod with the Corro-Protec titanium rod with electrical current. AND, the smell disappeared within 24 hours! In addition, this product has a 20 (yes, twenty) year warranty, and does not need to be replaced every six months. All hot water tanks should come with this type of rod as a standard - it works!

I installed my Corro-Protec in the afternoon and the sulfur odor in my hot water was totally gone by the next morning. It's been in there for a month or so and still no odor. Easy to install and works perfectly.

Was not sure at the beginning but after draining the water heater and installing it, the smell was gone for ever, is been installed for 3 months now. Thank you corro-protec. I recommend this product!

Easy installation, great results.

No leaks in the 2 weeks so far, since the installation. I used Teflon tape on the threads, as per the instructions.

No smelly water. No problems with the positive pin. Only good experience to this day.

Wonderful device! Sulfur, rotten egg smell gone! I can now take a bath or simply wash my hands and feel clean, clean, clean! Thanks for such a grand product! Will certainly tell others about the corro-protect! It is a marvelous invention! A must-have for those who don’t wish to replace their water heater!

This electric anode rod was easy to install. It works just as described, we no longer have a sulfur smell in our hot water. I would purchase again. You will need a 110 volt outlet close to your hot water tank.

Well water was smelly. Even worse after installing a new hot water heater. Installed the Coro protect and smell was gone by morning. Highly recommended!

The bad smell from my three year old hot water tank was gone in two days! The smell from the hot water had been getting worse very gradually over the years. It is now a pleasure to run the hot water and I'm not embarrassed to have guests. Thank you for an excellent product. It really works!

A year ago our hot water heater gave up the ghost and rather than purchasing we decided to rent. About a week after installation we started noticing a very foul odour coming from our hot water. The customer service from the rental company was great. However, everything they tried only lasted a very short time. After four unsuccessful attempts at correcting the problem, they suggested we would probably need to purchase a water treatment system. These systems are very expensive ($3000 - 7000). We are rural and on a well but had no issues with our cold water. That’s when I got on the internet and found Corro-Protec. After reading a few reviews, we clearly decided this was for us.
It was installed five weeks ago and we are thrilled. The odour was gone almost immediately and has not returned. Our installer called to follow up about a week ago (he had never heard of this product) and he was so impressed that he is now recommending it to other clients with the same problem. I really have no idea if the product is doing what it is supposed to do but it did get rid of the rotten egg smell in the hot water so we are very happy about that.

Product arrived in short order and well packed. Instructions were clear and precise. Installation was a breeze and Corro-Protec has been in service for about a month. The slight smell in our hot water has gone. Unit was installed with new elements top and bottom on an older John Wood Pro. This tank is amazing. Corro-Protec will be a part of its history.

After putting in a new hot water heater less than a year ago, the sulfur (rotten eggs) smell became quite noticeable. I put this in (very easy install) and the smell has disappeared. So, Happy Wife, Happy Life!
