I'm here to tell my experience as an international student in admitting to this college I gave all the necessary transcripts I paid my fees then i was told out of the blue that i need to take a french placement test and it was obligated by the quebec government I didn't know about the test before admitting i was not notified i read the site the policies everything nothing to be found before admitting and when I completed the test I was refused because i didn't i didn't receive the required level i asked the take the test again I told i was given a second chance so I filmed my answers and I'm sure that i got at least 85% of the questions Right and i was told i didn't get the required level and there's no way to get my note and they didn't even tell me the required level
So for any international student wanting to admit don't bother you well get the same treatment thank you for reading the statement and for anyone wanting to confirm the story feel free to contact me

Dawson college is a great learning institution.i may be biased because I am one of the students there (Night Class). Faculties are friendly and helpful.

The competition in this school is just incredible in the science department. Students are not helping each other in any way and want others to fail. This creates so much pressure that sometimes you really feel helpless. Many profs have no empathy although there is a few that are absolute gems. As another person said, counseling is impossible to get even though they advertise it and everything is super overpriced. The location is very nice though and education is very strong. I'd go again, but man this place gave me quite a few mental breakdowns.

This school, everything is great, but the fundamental parts of the schools are poor. Books are ridiculously expensive, and the food at the cafeteria expensive and tastes poorly. But most importantly, I've been trying to get counselling help from this school and ive been on a list for 2 semesters… for 9 months… i doubt they offer any to students unless they are borderline on the verge of suicide. If you are still struggling regardless, it is brushed off. I mean i pusheddd to get some help yet, at this point, im scarred from all the trauma ive been through and never got any consolation. Maybe some would say it is not the school’s responsibility, but that should actually be number one priority. In a lot of cases, what effects the mental health of students is school itself…. Plus, It deeply effected my grades so. Poor social service ‍️

The continuing education department doesn’t conduct course evaluations on professors and therefore you’re left with mediocre professors who are only interested in the $$$.

Does not care for their students or their health. Holding in person exams during a surge of cases is not ethical, especially after the mental drain of an online semester

Good for daytime students, continuing education students are treated poorly by administration. Do not bother trying to get any college services or academic advising, you are on your own. Continuing education teachers are also not paid for office hours like daytime teachers, luckily most are generous and offer office hours anyway.

As a student there for two years getting help from the counsellors and other facilities was a pain. Alot of resources are hard to access and take forever before you are taken into consideration. Alot of staff aren't very competent, especially when a french teacher makes basic mistakes in their mother tongue. And that's only one out of many. Although I've had the best philosophy teachers there and some teachers are really good.

I found Dawson college as one of the best educational places for studying specifically fine arts. The teachers are amazing and the atmosphere is really educational.

Honestly best CEGEP, I'm in the Psychology Profile Program and the teachers are extremely helpful and always try to accomodate you to help you succeed!

I am biased as I work here. I think the school has incredible support for students and staff and is always striving to hit new heights with their students always the first priority. There are many excellent programs which attract and produce top quality students.

I was at Dawson for a 3 year program with internship and couldn't be happier. They prepared me for the work force but I chose to continue to university but due to the internship placement have been working in my field for over 3 years while still studying at Concordia. They prepared me for the real world and I feel comfortable with the knowledge I gained from my program
